Why am I unable to activate this specific feature in Sharepoint 2013? - sharepoint

I have inherited a Sharepoint 2013 environment which I now need to manage. I have created a new list for a new Discussion Board.
My issue is that it does not allow me to insert videos into my posts. Regarding images, all work fine. Some research have pointed towards the need to activate located under Site Settings > Site Collection Features > Video and Rich Media.
However when I press the Activate button, I get the following error message:
Dependency feature 'DocumentManagement' (id: 3a4ce811-6fe0-4e97-a6ae-675470282cf2) for
feature 'DocumentSet' (id: 3bae86a2-776d-499d-9db8-fa4cdc7884f8) is not activated
at this scope.
How can I solve this issue?

Solved! I had to activate Document Sets metadata synchronization (located in Web Application Feature) prior to activating the Video and Rich Mediafeature.

How to sync a SharePoint Web Part with Teams?

I have developed a SharePoint WebPart, this component has several properties that I can modify from SharePoint: width, height...
I have installed the same component in Teams and works fine but I don't know how can I change this properties in Teams.
Logically, I think that by changing the values in Sharepoint, they should automatically refresh in Teams but it's not like that.
On the other hand, If I try to click on the "Sync button with Teams", I don't why never works and throws an error.
https://xxxx.sharepoint.com/sites/catalogApp/_api/web/tenantappcatalog/SyncSolutionToTeams --> Error 500
Somebody know how what can I do to sync this parameters?
#vcima, Once you make changes, you need to build it, bundle it and create new package.
After package creation you need to upload this package. Check following steps to upload package
Go to SharePoint Admin >> Open Apps >> It will take you to App catalog >> Go to Distributed Apps - you will see all the packages
Just delete the existing appropriate package and upload the new package. After that from File menu, sync with Teams
for more detailed steps please check this documentation.
Once you upload your webpart package in sharepoint app catalog, You can click on sync with teams button in catalog. Your webpart will be synced with teams and will be visible in teams as tab. However You can edit the webpart within sharepoint site itself but editing a webpart within teams tab is not possible. Please take a look at Making the SPFx webpart available within Teams tab

SLK - Assignement List Web Part is missing

I deployed and activated the SharePoint Learning Kit (SLK) to my SharePoint 2013 Foundation according to this video. In the video there is a Web Part called "Assignment List Web Part". But I don't have this one in my Web Part Collection.
I have all SLK Features activated but the Web Part is still missing.
Is my solution corrupted or is SLK not capable with SharePoint 2013 Foundation?
You have to activate the WebPart on Site Collection level.
Select Site Actions | Site Settings to get to the site setting page.
Under Site Collection Administration select Site Collection Features.
Activate the feature.
This will add the "Assignment List Web Part" to the WebPart gallery.

For further questions regarding SLK, you might ask them on the Codeplex SLK Discussion Board.
There you have the chance to discuss your questions with other people facing the same problems and even the developer himself.

CRM 2011 List Component Error - The document records could not be loaded.

I've recently installed the "CRM List Component" on a "Online SharePoint", but there are some problems when documents are added.
I'm getting "The document records could not be loaded from SharePoint. Try refreshing the grid. If the problem persists, contact your system administrator" error when adding any kind of document.
When I restart the page, the "CRM List Component" view isn't shown anymore and I see the complete SharePoint instead of the normal "View".
I've downloaded the latest "CRM List Component" on the Microsoft Site and even tried to add a new "site Library" (contact2) and it doesn't work on other "Site Libraries" too.
Has anyone encountered this problem?
If so, is there a way to resolve this?
The weird thing is, that I've done this for other customers and there it seemed to work correctly.
But I can't delete an "Online SharePoint" environment and start from scratch as it is a new environment created by the customer.
Apparently I’ve solved the Issue Myself after some research. The language of the User who created the SharePoint was different from my “SharePoint”-user. When I changed the language of my User, the problem seems to be disappeared. I guess this issue won’t be solved in the next releases of the “CRM List Component”? I’m hoping that this answer will help out other Users!
It is not always feasible to keep user's language same as site collection language. There can be a requirement to have alternative languages enabled on the site collection, where integration component is deployed. Instead of enforcing site collection language you can set the integration component language to be always same, regardless of the user language settings. This can be done by adding for example UICulture="en" Culture="en-US" attribute to the Page directive of the affected page CrmGridPage.aspx.
You can access CrmGridPage.aspx by unpacking the component's .wsp file as CAB archive. Then edit the page, archive back into CAB, rename into wsp and deploy.

Issues with converting HTML file to master page in SharePoint 2013

Right now I have an HTML file and I'm trying to convert it to a master page. I'm using a VM on CloudShare.
So I create a new site collection and go into the site settings. Under “Look and Feel”, Design Manager isn’t there so I’ve found that if I go to “Site Collection Features” under “Site Collection Administration”, and activate “SharePoint Server Publishing Infrastructure” Design Manager will show up. So I go into design manager, but under Edit Master Pages none of the file or folder names will show up, and when I convert the html file the status column doesn’t show up either, so I can’t go to preview it or to the snippets gallery.
The only thing I can find online is to create a new site collection, which I’ve tried a few times. This happened on my old CloudShare VM, and creating a new site collection fixed it, but it’s not working for this. Can anyone help?
Personally when working with new master pages I have found that the best application to use is SharePoint Designer. You should be able to download it for free. Here are the instructions to configure SharePoint designer using it with CloudShare.

Figured it out - I made a new site collection and set it to a Publishing site template and it fixed the issue.

Reduced functionality using forms authentication (FBA) in SharePoint

I’ve got a moss document centre website with FBA and AD authentication enabled. After creating a picture library I seem to have reduced functionality when accessing the site through the FBA URL.
I’ve compared the web.config files from each IIS website and they are the same (apart from added FBA information that's required).
Here's two pictures to illustrate what I mean.
This picture shows the options available in the picture library when accessing the website through AD authentication:

This picture shows the reduced options available in the picture library when accessing the website through FBA authentication:

Anyone else seen this behaviour? I find it really strange.
This functionality is by design. As per Microsoft:
When you configure a zone to use forms authentication, the Enable Client Integration box is cleared by default. If a zone is configured in this way, the following changes occur in functionality:
Support for remote interfaces is turned off. That includes WebDAV, SOAP, and Microsoft Office FrontPage remote procedure calls (RPC). Some functionality is not available, such as Web folders or the Web services for accessing content in that site.
Some toolbar items no longer appear:
New Document
Open in Outlook
Open In Windows Explorer
Export to Spreadsheet
Open with Database Program
Explorer View option is hidden.
Create an Access View option is hidden.
In picture libraries, the following functionality is removed:
Upload Multiple
Edit Picture
Download
Send To
On the Edit Control Block (ECB) menu, the drop-down menu that appears when you click - items in document libraries, the following items are removed:
Edit in Word
Edit in Excel
Edit in PowerPoint
Discuss
Connect To Outlook
In slide libraries the following functionality is removed:
Publish Slide
Send to PowerPoint
Also, syncing SharePoint data with Microsoft Office Outlook no longer works.
Form Authentication will reduce some functionality such as in document library. We won't see the new document, be able to edit it in the spreadsheet, be able to open it with Windows Explorer etc.
For that, we need to enable the feature called Client Integration in Authentication
Provider. After enabling that, we'll get all menu items.
