Set a passthrough using browsermob proxy? - python-3.x

So I'm using browsermob proxy to login selenium tests to get passed IAP for Google Cloud. But that just gets the user to the site, they still need to login to the site using some firebase login form. IAP has me adding Authorization header through browsermob so you can get to the site itself but the when you try to login through the firebase form you get a 401 error message: "Request had invalid authentication credentials. Expected OAuth 2 access token, login cookie or other valid authentication credential..
I thought I could get around this using the whitelist or blacklist feature to just not apply those headers to urls related to the firebase login, but it seems that whitelist and blacklist just return status codes and empty responses for calls that match the regex.
Is there a way to just passthrough certain calls based on the host? Or on the off chance I'm doing something wrong, let me know. Code below:

Figured this out a bit later. There isn't anything built into the BrowserMob proxy/client to do this. But you can achieve it through webdriver's proxy settings.

How do I get id_token to properly load in Cloud Run?

I have a Django app that I have been working on. When I run it locally it runs perfectly. When I run it in a container using Cloud Run I get the following error:
'Credentials' object has no attribute 'id_token'

In my local environment, the refresh properly loads credentials with the correct id_toled for the needed header, but for some reason when the code is deployed to Cloud Run this does not work. I have the Cloud run instance set to use a service account so it should be able to get credentials from it. How do I make this work? I have googled until my fingers hurt and have found no viable solutions.

I have seen this metadata URL shortcut (for Cloud Run), but I have not verified it:

Unauthorized Python Requests using Mohawk

I'm trying to get a POST requests through python. Server side dev provided me with an auth key ie: short124 and a long key. They were generated by Mohawk library. Dev from server side gave me a code example:

Python authorization

I need to write a script that is included in the personal account of my Internet provider and transmits information about the current balance.
At the moment I am stuck at the time of authorization. I found and edited such a script for myself:

Your browser probably has a session token/cookie stored and that is why you can access it through the browser. There are a couple issues here:
It looks like you need to login to the site first -- through a POST method, not a GET. The GET is what loads the page. But once you submit the form it's going to do a POST request.
Actually, using requests to login to a site is not as easy as it looks. Usually you have to find the url it's posting to (examine the developer toolbar to see the url), and you often have to pass information in addition to your username/password, such as a csrf token, a cookie, or something else.
I would suggest using a browser-automator for this, perhaps something like selenium Webdriver. It makes logging into a site much simpler than using HTTP in a raw request, as it emulates a browser. I would suggest this -- it's much simpler and faster!
Another thing to note: auth=(USERNAME, PASSWORD) is not quite the username/password in the form (it's something else) but I don't think understanding that is too relevant to what you're trying to do.

How to send a GraphQL query to AppSync from python?

How do we post a GraphQL request through AWS AppSync using boto?
Ultimately I'm trying to mimic a mobile app accessing our stackless/cloudformation stack on AWS, but with python. Not javascript or amplify.
The primary pain point is authentication; I've tried a dozen different ways already. This the current one, which generates a "401" response with "UnauthorizedException" and "Permission denied", which is actually pretty good considering some of the other messages I've had. I'm now using the 'aws_requests_auth' library to do the signing part. I assume it authenticates me using the stored /.aws/credentials from my local environment, or does it?
I'm a little confused as to where and how cognito identities and pools will come into it. eg: say I wanted to mimic the sign-up sequence?
Anyways the code looks pretty straightforward; I just don't grok the authentication.

It's quite simple--once you know. There are some things I didn't appreciate:
I've assumed IAM authentication (OpenID appended way below)
There are a number of ways for appsync to handle authentication. We're using IAM so that's what I need to deal with, yours might be different.
Boto doesn't come into it.
We want to issue a request like any regular punter, they don't use boto, and neither do we. Trawling the AWS boto docs was a waste of time.
Use the AWS4Auth library
We are going to send a regular http request to aws, so whilst we can use python requests they need to be authenticated--by attaching headers.
And, of course, AWS auth headers are special and different from all others.
You can try to work out how to do it
yourself, or you can go looking for someone else who has already done it: Aws_requests_auth, the one I started with, probably works just fine, but I have ended up with AWS4Auth. There are many others of dubious value; none endorsed or provided by Amazon (that I could find).
Specify appsync as the "service"
What service are we calling? I didn't find any examples of anyone doing this anywhere. All the examples are trivial S3 or EC2 or even EB which left uncertainty. Should we be talking to api-gateway service? Whatsmore, you feed this detail into the AWS4Auth routine, or authentication data. Obviously, in hindsight, the request is hitting Appsync, so it will be authenticated by Appsync, so specify "appsync" as the service when putting together the auth headers.

Getting credentials
To get rid of the hardcoded key/secret you can consume the local AWS ~/.aws/config and ~/.aws/credentials, and it is done this way...

This does seem to respect the environment variable AWS_PROFILE for assuming different roles.
Note that STS.get_session_token is not the way to do it, as it may try to assume a role from a role, depending where it keyword matched the AWS_PROFILE value. Labels in the credentials file will work because the keys are right there, but names found in the config file do not work, as that assumes a role already.
OpenID
In this scenario, all the complexity is transferred to the conversation with the openid connect provider. The hard stuff is all the auth hoops you jump through to get an access token, and thence using the refresh token to keep it alive. That is where all the real work lies.
Once you finally have an access token, assuming you have configured the "OpenID Connect" Authorization Mode in appsync, then you can, very simply, drop the access token into the header:

I am unable to add a comment due to low rep, but I just want to add that I tried the accepted answer and it didn't work. I was getting an error saying my session_token is invalid. Probably because I was using AWS Lambda.

Get requests body using selenium and proxies

I want to be able to get a body of the specific subrequest using a selenium behind the proxy.
Now I'm using python + selenium + chromedriver. With logging I'm able to get each subrequest's headers but not body. My logging settings:

I know there are several options to form a HAR with selenium:
Use geckodriver and har-export-trigger. I tried to make it work with the following code:

Unfortunately, I don't see the body of the response in the returning data.
Use browsermob proxy. The solution seems totally fine but I didn't find the way to make browsermob proxy work behind the proxy.
So the question is: how can I get the body of the specific network response on the request made during the downloading of the webpage with selenium AND use proxies.
UPD: Actually, with har-export-trigger I get the response bodies, but not all of them: the response body I need is in json, it's MIME type is 'text/html; charset=utf-8' and it is missing from the HAR file I generate, so the solution is still missing.
UPD2: After further investigation, I realized that a response body is missing even on my desktop firefox when the har-export-trigger add-on is turned on, so this solution may be a dead-end (issue on Github)
UPD3: This bug can be seen only with the latest version of har-export-trigger. With version 0.6.0. everything works just fine.
So, for future googlers: you may use har-export-trigger v. 0.6.0. or the approach from the accepted answer.
