Powershell / Azure Functions - Do not run at all - azure

Got a Azure Function (Queue) with a powershell script from git source. When I click run nothing happens, se picture below!
I've set up everything on a new tenant, but one strange thing. I did not find experminental language option (powershell) when creating the Azure Functions. So I choose to get it from a source (git). I've also activated 64-bit and Managed service identity (I'm later going to use the key vault)

Removed "dotnet" from Application Settings. Think this get's in by default after they changed the settings when creating a new Azure Functions

Lookup Azure application name from within a running function app

Is it possible to lookup the application name for an Azure app as it runs, i.e., get the information about that is displayed in the Azure portal? In the example below, I'd want something to tell me from within the application that I am running sitemap-prod-eastus.
I've been looking at the Azure Context object but not seeing what I need. There is an invocation ID, a name for the function, a directory - not the info in this window.
Maybe this can be done through Azure Application Insights?
I am working in Node JS.
I've not seen anything that would expose this to a function app. That said, there is one sort of workaround that you could do which would work - go to the Configuration blade for the function app, Application settings tab, and add a configuration key like function_name and set its value to the name of your app. Your app could then just read it out of configuration.
It's an extra step, but if you're doing it with something like ARM or Terraform, it's just another configuration entry with a variable you already declared to set up the app in the first place.
Answering my own question: Azure provides WEBSITE_SITE_NAME in the runtime environment that matches the name of the function app.

Azure Automation: Run PowerShell after AD user added

I'm reviewing Azure Automation, but I couldn't find out if it is possible to run a PowerShell script whenever a new user is added to Active Directory? The scenario I'm researching is whenever a new Office365 account is added through admin.microsoft.com then I want to configure some email preferences for this user. I have my PowerShell script tested already (so these preferences should be set correctly), but now I'm trying to find out how exactly this script should be executed right after account is added.
Thanks,
You can inspect the Azure AD Audit logs for new user creation. You can export the Diagnostic Settings (logs) to Azure Monitor (see doc).
The following is an idea but I never tried it myself:
In Azure Monitor -> Logs you can find for example this query:
Modify it according to your needs and create an alert rule. In the alert rule, you can set up an action group that triggers your automation account with the PowerShell script.

Can't find app with name error while publish the azure function

I tried to create an azure function using following link in Ubuntu system(16.04).
[azure function][2]
Deployment using arm template and create a local azure function using vs code.
Folder contains following files
LocalFunctionProj.csproj, HttpExample.cs, host.json, local.settings.json
azure function is created successfully in portal after deployment. But when i tried to publish the local azure function ,it shows an error Can't find app with name "HttpExample" while using following command
func azure functionapp publish HttpExample
Is anything wrong in my step.
Also i tried this command after 30 mnt when function created in portal
screen shot
I had a similar issue when I followed a tutorial about Azure Functions Core Tools from Microsoft Learning.
In my case, I had the error Can't find app with name X, because I had a wrong subscription set in my local Azure CLI. The command from below changes subscription for the one that is created with "Microsoft Learning Sandbox". Note that, in your case, the name of the subscription can be different.
az account set --subscription "Concierge Subscription"
If it's not the issue, your question suggests that your function app name should be HttpExample. You need to ensure beforehand that there's a function app with such a name in the subscription you are logged into with Azure CLI.
Moreover, there is a ProvisioningState: Failed in the screenshot, which could also be an issue.
If you want to publish the local app into azure ,you must create the functional app before in azure portal. Also the name of the azure function is portal should be same as the local azure app.otherwise you can't publish the app.

Azure Functions App is Read Only after publishing

I have several Azure Functions Apps (c#, javascript and python) and after some time they were all randomly set to Read Only mode. The strange thing is that only one of these 3 function apps were updated before this happened. I know that this is not necessarily a problem, but I want to be able to make edits from the portal.
I can't open App Service Editor
I can't set the app to Read/Write from Function App Settings -> Function app edit mode
I also tried using "func azure functionapp publish myAzFuncAppName --nozip", but with the same result
Of course. Please notice that if the function is 'deployed' to Azure, what will be deployed is the compiled file.
For example, if you deploy C# function app, what will be deployed is the dll file. So this is why it is readonly.
Changes to the code should be done before compiling them into corresponding 'cannot be edited' files, which requires special attention.
But for the modification of the declarative part and the configuration part of the function, this is possible, the specific steps are as follows:
Declarative part:
Then click Debug Console > cmd:
Go to site\wwwroot[yourfunctionname], and there will be a function.json.
Click the 'pen' to edit and don't forget to save.
Configuration part:
You can change the settings from Azure Portal or by editing the application settings. FUNCTION_APP_EDIT_MODE allows values readwrite and readonly, a
Just deleted the Azure Function App, created a new one, transferred the code in the new one and deployed -> still read only, but now I was able to open "App Service Editor" and remove "generated by..." from function.json and then set "Read/Write" from Function App Settings -> Function app edit mode.
Still... I can't see/edit the code of the function, only of function.json and if I redeploy using Azure extensions of Visual Code or powershell with --nozip attribute, the "generated bla bla" appears again :(
When the application runs from package, the files are loaded from that package. Hence those files are not editable.
You need to set WEBSITE_RUN_FROM_PACKAGE : 0 in app settings and redeploy the application again to make the function app editable.

UPDATED:
You can deploy functionapp through command line from visual studio code. Try below command.
func azure functionapp publish --nozip
The nozip flag would set Run-From-Package mode off .
you can access other information regarding that command with func azure functionapp publish --help

Azure Automation Update Managemet schedules can be removed using powershell, but they still exist in the portal

If I used Get-AzAutomationSchedule for my automation account, I get nothing in return because I used Remove-AzAutomationSchedule for all of them. But if I look in the portal, every schedule I've deployed is there present. If I select a schedule that I've removed using Powershell and then attempt to update the schedule in the portal, I get the crying rain cloud and it says
NewScheduleBladeV2
MICROSOFT_AZURE_AUTOMATION
NewScheduleBladeV2
The reacurrance is also listed as unknown in the list.
This is a problem not only for clarity when viewing in the portal, but if I attempt to run my ARM template again with the schedules there, I get an "Internal Server Error" code 500. I can't redeploy them if I delete them with Powershell.
Is there anyway to send something to Azure to update these? Not sure if I need to do some API call or some form of Set-Az cmdlet
Thanks
I have tried to reproduce the issue you are facing but all worked good for me when i used cmdlets Get-AzAutomationSchedule and Remove-AzAutomationSchedule of Az.Automation module versioned 1.2.1.
Is this still an issue at your end ? If yes, can you restart the browser after clearing the cache and deleting the cookies ?
