This is my very first question and seems to be easy but coding it is somehow difficult...
So, basically I've got an Agent that should just call a URL and get the content of the website. This should then be spoken out by the smart speaker.
I already have a webhook working but now I'm stuck at getting the web-content..
Would be awesome if someone could please help me out here.
Best regards
Getting the web content is not easy . you have to parse the content in a web page using program , a simple logic is to detect '<' and '>' and remove all strings in between using string functions
Best of luck with that

I'm writing and E2E test for an application written in Electron. I need to test a button which calls in effect shell.openExternal('link') where link is an external website. I've been looking in the webdriver docs for something which allows the test intercept this call, but it doesn't look like anything like that exists in the API at all.
1) if something like this does exist an I missed it in the docs, please enlighten me in ways of the light side of the force,
2) if not, then does anyone out there in stackoverflow land have a fancy work-around?
Thanks so much!
I came up with an answer. Instead of trying to intercept the click, I added an env var in the main app such that when set, the click will put an entry into the log instead of actually opening the external link in a browser. Then I use the API in spectron to slurp up the render process logs: https://github.com/electron-userland/spectron#clientgetrenderprocesslogs
Then I can just look for a custom string in the logs and I can judge the proper text is present.
I am new for action for Google, and I want a help. I want to create a chatbot and wanna use actions on Google API for this, I came across certain blogs but I can not understand how to setup this thing and local and make use of actions on Google API's in a productive way. I have read the documentation but nothing seems to be work in a desired manner. Please help me with initial steps where I could begin with.
I think you should read the documents properly. Here's the correct address for developing actions :- https://developers.google.com/actions/apiai/
This is the perfect document, if you will use API.ai. If you want to learn faster then you have to watch videos. Here is the link for the basic video.
This is the basic video you need to watch :- https://youtu.be/5Al0bfCF-xA
I think this video will help you alot. If still you need some more help for building apps, do reply we will help !
You can test it on your local server by opening up a port on your wifi router and and forward that port to you server ip and port. However, you still https call from api.ai to your local server.
A few days ago, I was playing around with a local API(not Google) and it required me to provide a Redirect Uri while trying to setup my app in their dashboard.
I did some googling and top searches led me to oAuth2.0 and Google Developer's website. But this API I'm using is not related with any of Google's so I thought it won't be relevant.
Is the setup of Redirect Uri for most APIs universal or almost the same? What programming languages can I use to implement this?
The description also says I need to parse a subscriber_number and access_token in JSON format. How do I do that?
Please note that I have already found a free hosting site via Firebase and have provided my own link. I also did the initial steps from another user to fire the required access_token that I needed to parse from the Redirect Uri. But accessing it from the browser right after triggering doesn't give me anything. I'm so clueless. Any help is much appreciated!
I realise their are numerous questions regarding this issue and I have read them all, but I still cannot get this to work!
I have:
Created my project in the API console
Enabled Places API in services
Created a new IOS API Key (repeated this step twice now)
Tried the request with sensor=true, sensor=false and no sensor param at all
Tried HTTP and HTTPS
Those are all the fixes I found within the existing questions regarding this issue, have I missed anything? Here is a sample URL I am using to test:
https://maps.googleapis.com/maps/api/place/textsearch/json?sensor=true&query=Test%20sd&key=MYKEY
And yes, I am replacing 'MYKEY' with my actual API key :).
I am developing an IOS app using monotouch but I don't really see how that is relevant as I can't get this to work in the browser either.
Any help would be hugely appreciated! Been stuck on this all day now.
I believe you want to be using your "Simple API Access" key (not an Android/iOS key). The documentation mentions this as the last step.
https://developers.google.com/places/documentation/#Authentication
I tried your sample URL with my Simple API Access key and it was successful.
I would like to download images with a certain tag from Instagram with their likes. With this post I hope to get some advice or tips on how to do this. I have no experience with web scraping related stuff or web API usages. One of my questions is: can you create a program like this in python code or can you only do this using a webpage?
So far I have understood the following. To get images with a certain tag you have to:
need a valid access_token to even gain access to images by tag, which can be done like this. However, when I sign in you need to give a website. Does this indicate that you can only use the API's on websites rather than a python program for instance?
you use a media Tag Endpoint to search for tags by name.
I have no idea what the latest step will return exactly, but I expect that it will give me a specific image id that contains the tag. Correct? Now I will also need to get the likes belonging to these images. Just like latest step from before:
you use a likes Tag Endpoint to get a list of users that liked the image of which of course you can get the length.
If I can accomplish all of these steps it seems like I can achieve my original goal. I googled if there was something out there already. The only thing I could find was InstaRaider, but this did not seem to fit my description because it web scraped only the images from a specific user and not by tag or its likes. Any suggestions or ideas would be very helpful, I have only programmed in python and Java before..
I can only tell you that for URL you can use the localhost as this:
http://127.0.0.1
OR
http://localhost
I have also tried to do exactly the same before, but I could not, so I used a website to search for tags and images:
http://iconosquare.com/search/[HASHTAG]
