Where is Ad hoc in Visual Studio 2017 Cross platform app (xamarin)?
How can i export IPA file in Visual studio Cross platform app (xamarin)?
Right click on your ios project in your solution pad and go to options.
Navigate to "iOS IPA Options".
Make sure "Build iTunes Package Archive (IPA) is checked.
Your IPA will be available after you run the app in your bin folder.

I am new to this flutter based app creation. Now I successfully created one sample app in my windows system android studio with flutter plugin that app also running successful. OK, now I want to generate the IPA app for the same application. I don't know how to generate the IPA for IOS device in using android studio? anyone help me please..
I am using windows 10 system and my android studio version as 3.4.2
I want to generate .ipa file in android studio, like how i generate .apk file in android studio.
The only way to generate an IPA from you windows machine is by using a CI/CD service like Codemagic using the steps described in this article:
link your repository (Github, BitBucket , or Gitlab).
from settings > build for platforms > IOS
change the .app file you received to .zip and extract it.
You will find a file called Runner.app, put in a folder and compress it back.
change the extension from .zip to .ipa.
And here's your first IOS build without a Mac device.
I recently developed a program in VB.net with Access Database. And I want to create setup file of it.
I'd searched on "How to create setup file". And I got that using "Deployment and Installing" we can. After that I'd install "InstallShield". But that option does not appear inside Visual Studio.
I'm using "VS Express 2012 for Windows Desktop".
Visual Studio Express 2012 does not support extensions, as such 3rd party products will not be able to provide additional functionality. The InstallShield LE page on MSDN spells this out clearly:
InstallShield Limited Edition is free for users of all Visual Studio editions except the Express editions.
Source: https://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/dn531020.aspx
Your options are:
Install Visual Studio 2013 Community Edition (if you are allowed by the license) or buy Visual Studio Professional. These can be extended with either Wix or the Visual Studio Setup Package extension or Installshield.
Create a click-once installer
Use an installation system that is independent of Visual Studio and have it pick up your project output from a specific directory. You would have to author your installer outside of Visual Studio, e.g.:
NSIS
Wix and Wix Editor
I can't find any documentation on how to publish your app to the app store from Visual Studio? Is this a case of having to use Xamarin Studio once you are ready to submit your app?
It seems a bit odd that xamarin gives you the opportunity to use Visual Studio but then has absolutely no instructions on how to create a bundle to submit your app to the app store..
Any tips on how to do this with Visual Studio would be great.
As far as I know, there's no way of submitting to AppStore (or even TestFlight) from VS.
I believe that you can only submit builds to the App Store using Xcode or Application Loader. Both Mac programs.
Personally I make a release build in Visual Studio, and then click the 'Show IPA File In Build server' button.
If the buttons greyed out, right-click your iOS solution, select properties. Then go to 'iOS IPA Options' and check 'Build ad-hoc/enterprise package (IPA)'
Then I go to my Mac and start up Application Loader and drag the IPA file there.
I have installed Xamarin 2.0 and i can now starte the iphone simulator from visual studio. I have added another Iphone resource prefix to my project Resources;images
When i run the app from Visual studio the resources in the images folder is not included in the app. If i run it from Xamarin studio on the mac, it all works fine.
Any suggestions on how to fix this ?
This appears to be a bug in the Xamarin.iOS addin for VS. I filed it.
I tried to configure the windows forms(4.0) and WPF products(4.0) assemblies in visual studio 2012 toolbox. But i am unable to configure the assemblies manually into Visual Studio 2012 toolbox. it shows the "There are no components in {Assembly Path} that can be placed on toolbox" error.
Also i am able create only WPF application (machine configuration-> Win 8 + VS2012 Express edition)
Can you please tell, how to configure the custom assemblies(.net framework 4.0) in VS toolbox?
Regards,
Siva S
From Tools menu option select "Customize Toolbox" then browse and select the yourAssembly.dll assembly and click OK.
You will now see the control listed in the toolboxTool
