change label value using value stored at session - jsf

i have two jsf pages (home.jsf and employees.jsf) ,
home page has a button that navigates to employees page,
while navigating i store value in session scope
at (Managed bean)
public void putSessionAL(ActionEvent actionEvent) {
FacesContext.getCurrentInstance().getExternalContext().getSessionMap().put("key","value");
}
public String navigate() {
return "employees";
}
i want to change Label at employees viewObject from UIHints tab depending on value stored at session using the following groovy expression
adf.context.sessionScope.key
and changed trustMode to trusted but it fires the following exception
oracle.jbo.script.ExprScriptException: JBO-29114 ADFContext is not setup to process messages for this exception. Use the exception stack trace and error code to investigate the root cause of this exception. Root cause error code is JBO-25188. Error message parameters are {0=Employees.FirstName, 1=, 2=oracle.jbo.script.ExprSecurityException}

One way to do it at the VO UIHint attribute label level will be programmaticaly by doing as follow :
In your VO go to the java tab and add the RowImpl java class
In the VORowImpl Add the following function
public String getMySessionLabel() {
return (String)FacesContext.getCurrentInstance().getExternalContext().getSessionMap().get("key");
}
In the Label add the following EL expression :
adf.object.getMySessionLabel()
This technique allow you more control than pure EL, if you want to do more than getting from session for example. In your case pure EL, as you did, should work as well. (Would need to check what is wrong with yours, maybe just missing the
#{adf.context.sessionScope.key}

If you attempt to get your label from a method in viewRowImpl. So this will be executed at least once for each row. I think this solution isn't fit for your case.
anyway ADF as a framework added strong policy and validations in EL in general and especially in version 12.2.x.
The solution for you case as following:
Create new class in model layer which extends oracle.jbo.script.ExprSecurityPolicy class
Override checkProperty method.
#Override
public boolean checkProperty(Object object, String string, Boolean b) {
if (object.getClass().getName().equals("oracle.adf.share.http.ServletADFContext") && string.equals("sessionScope")) {
return true;
}
return super.checkProperty(object, string, b);
}
Open adf-config.xml source and in startup tag set your class ExprSecurityPolicy property.
like:
<startup ExprSecurityPolicy="model.CustomExprSecurityPolicy">

.net core 3.1 - View Components - Not finding my Default.cshtml

I'm just getting to grips with ViewComponents in my Razor pages application.
I have a ViewComponents folder within my project that contains my ViewComponent .cs code:
public class RemoveFromCartViewComponent : ViewComponent
{
public IViewComponentResult Invoke()
{
var result = "123";
return View(result);
}
}
I then have another folder within Pages/Shared/Components called RemoveFromCart. Within this folder I have my default.cshtml
#model string
<h2>
#Model
</h2>
Simply putting the string within a h2 tag.
In my projects Layout.cshtml file I am invoking this ViewComponent:
<div>
#await Component.InvokeAsync("RemoveFromCart")
</div>
When I start my project, the error I get is:
*InvalidOperationException: The view 'Components/RemoveFromCart/123' was not found. The following locations were searched:
/Pages/Components/RemoveFromCart/123.cshtml
/Pages/Shared/Components/RemoveFromCart/123.cshtml
/Views/Shared/Components/RemoveFromCart/123.cshtml*
This is indication my view should be called 123.cshtml which doesnt seem right. What am I doing wrong here? I should simply expect to see the text 123 appear
Thanks
By returning View("123"), you are using this overload:
public ViewViewComponentResult View (string viewName)
Returns a result which will render the partial view with name viewName.
So you are passing the view name, instead of a string value as the view’s model.
You can change that by explicitly calling the View<TModel>(TModel) overload instead:
public IViewComponentResult Invoke()
{
var result = "123";
return View<string>(result);
}
In the long run, I would suggest you to create a model class instead so that you can pass an object instead of just a string. This will avoid having this particular problem and you are also able to easily expand the model contents later on.

How do I get a parameter to not just display in a component, but also be recognized inside of OnInitializedAsync()?

I'm working on a blazor server-side project and I have a component that gets passed a model (pickedWeek) as a parameter. I can use the model fine in-line with the html, but OnInitializedAsync always thinks that the model is null.
I have passed native types in as parameters, from the Page into a component, this way without an issue. I use a NullWeek as a default parameter, so the number getting used in OnInitializedAsync only ever appears to be from the NullWeek. In case this is related, there is a sibling component that is returning the Week model to the Page through an .InvokeAsync call, where StateHasChanged() is being called after the update. It appears that the new Week is getting updated on the problem component, but that OnInitializeAsync() either doesn't see it, or just never fires again- which maybe is my problem, but I didn't think it worked that way.
For instance, the below code will always show "FAILURE" but it will show the correct Week.Number. Code below:
<div>#pickedWeek.Number</div>
#if(dataFromService != null)
{
<div>SUCCESS</div>
}
else
{
<div>FAILURE</div>
}
#code{
[Parameter]
public Week pickedWeek { get; set; }
protected IEnumerable<AnotherModel> dataFromService { get; set; }
protected override async Task OnInitializedAsync()
{
if (pickedWeek.Number > 0)
{
dataFromService = await _injectedService.MakeACall(pickedWeek.Id);
}
}
}
#robsta has this correct in the comments, you can use OnParametersSet for this. Then, you will run into another issue, in that each rerender will set your parameters again and generate another call to your service. I've gotten around this by using a flag field along with the the OnParametersSet method. Give this a shot and report back.
private bool firstRender = true;
protected override async Task OnParametersSetAsync()
{
if (pickedWeek.Number > 0 && firstRender)
{
dataFromService = await _injectedService.MakeACall(pickedWeek.Id);
firstRender = false;
// MAYBE call this if it doesn't work without
StateHasChanged();
}
}
Another alternative is to use the OnAfterRender override, which supplies a firstRender bool in the the method signature, and you can do similar logic. I tend to prefer the first way though, as this second way allows it to render, THEN sets the value of your list, THEN causes another rerender, which seems like more chatter than is needed to me. However if your task is long running, use this second version and build up a loading message to display while the list is null, and another to display if the service call fails. "FAILURE" is a bit misleading as you have it as it's being displayed before the call completes.
I've also found that a call to await Task.Delay(1); placed before your service call can be useful in that it breaks the UI thread loose from the service call awaiter and allows your app to render in a loading state until the data comes back.

Java Cucumber: How to get string parameter values from all the steps in a single scenario

I'm looking for a way to get all the parameters that are being passed in each step before entering the actual scenario for each scenario in my feature file.
Sample feature file:
Feature: Login action
Background:
When "{login url}" is open
Scenario: Registered user provides valid username and password
Given user enters username "{username}" and password "test password"
And user clicks on "btnLogin"
Then user is logged in
Parameters I want to get:
{login url}
{username}
password
btnLogin
What I tried so far:
I have tried using a common hook that will be automatically used by all of my scenarios:
public class ScenarioHook {
public ScenarioHook() {
}
#Before
public void setupScenario(Scenario scenario) throws InterruptedException {
//Here I am currently watching the {scenario} object and I can see all the steps
//but I still dont know where to get the passed parameter values.
}
#After
public void teardownScenario() throws InterruptedException {
}
}
UPDATE 1:
The reason why I want to do this is I want to manipulate the strings (if possible). e.g. all data enclosed in "{}" will be transformed to something else before entering the actual scenario.
You can use the #Transform annotation to change the value of the parameter to the step definition.
For this you will need to create a class which contains the logic of the string modification and will return the modified value.
public class StringTransformer extends Transformer<String>{
public String transform(String value) {
return "transformed "+value;
}
}
Next you need to include this class in your stepdefinition using the #Transform annotation in front of the method argument.
#When("^Login with (.*?)$")
public void helloHere(#Transform(StringTransformer.class) String userName)
{
System.out.println("TEXT --- " + userName);
}
This should give you the new transformed string. You can use this to create objects from your initial string. (Actually that is what it is used for)
Cucumber Sceanario class will not provide you this information as I don't think all steps are actually being loaded and parsed before starting executing the scenario but parsed one by one during the scenario execution. One option I can think of is to create a background step where you will manually include all parameters involved in the scenario. For example:
Feature: Login action
Background:
Given these parameters are using within this scenario: "{login url}", "{username}", "password", "btnLogin"
When "{login url}" is open

Is it possible to create an orchard autoroute using contents of a custom type property?

I have an Orchard cms module with some additional Content types set up and have added an AutoRoute component via code.
Everything works perfectly, however I am not happy with the default permalink pattern.
What I am trying to do is add a custom pattern and use one of the public properties in my content type. In my case the custom type has a public property called ClubName and I would like that to be used (It makes more sense from a routing perspective).
The Orchard part class name is called TrackPart.
I have tried {Content.TrackPart.ClubName}, {Content.Track.ClubName}, {ContentItem.TrackPart.ClubName},{Content.TrackPart.ClubName} and various other variations but nothing seems to be working.
I am really new to Orchard so there is a high chance I am missing something simple.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
In response to feedback from #Bertrand-le-roy I created my own token by copying an example token. I can now get see the token in the drop down menu and select it. However the route pattern is still not working.
I can only assume that I have misunderstood the Evaluate() function's context.For usage. It looks like I am not getting the data I need
Here is what I have so far.
public class TrackPartTokens : ITokenProvider {
private readonly IContentManager _contentManager;
public TrackPartTokens(IContentManager contentManager) {
_contentManager = contentManager;
}
public Localizer T { get; set; }
public void Describe(dynamic context) {
context.For("Track", T("Track"), T("Tokens for Track"))
.Token("ClubName", T("ClubName"), T("The name of the club."))
;
}
public void Evaluate(dynamic context) {
context.For<TrackPart>("Track")
.Token("ClubName", (Func<TrackPart, object>)(field => field.ClubName))
.Chain("ClubName", "ClubName", (Func<TrackPart, object>)(field =>field.ClubName))
;
}</code>
The above code was based on the DateTimeField token inside the Orchard.Fields module.
context.For("DateTimeField")
.Token("Date", (Func)(field => field.DateTime))
.Chain("Date", "Date", (Func)(field => field.DateTime));
I had the same issue.
After some troubleshooting I managed to get the autoroute working by changing my implementaion to the following (adapted to your example, note that your setup might require some changes to the linq-function):
In your tokens-class:
First add a using System.Linq statement.
Then change your Evaluate implementation to the following:
context.For<IContent>("Content")
.Token("ClubName", (Func<IContent>, object>)(content =>
content.ContentItem.Parts.OfType<TrackPart>().First().ClubName));
Make sure your AutoroutePart settings in Migrations.cs uses the Content-prefix. Like:
.WithPart("AutoroutePart", partBuilder =>
partBuilder
.WithSetting("AutorouteSettings.AllowCustomPattern", "true")
.WithSetting("AutorouteSettings.AutomaticAdjustmentOnEdit", "false")
.WithSetting("AutorouteSettings.PatternDefinitions",
#"[{Name:'Track', Pattern:'{Content.ClubName}',
Description:'Your description'}]")
.WithSetting("AutorouteSettings.DefaultPatternIndex", "0"))
There seems to be some problems with the TokenManager-class in Orchard source that only allows the target-parameter to equal "Content" in order for the call: _data.TryGetValue(target, out value) to work (TokenManager.cs, line 67). I have tried a number of different setups but the _data-dictionary always only contain the "Content" key.
You'll have to make your own token. It's really easy. Copy a working example.

Grails: How to make everything I create Upper Case?

I am currently using CSS to change everything I write to upperCase when I create an entry, but that is not enough. When I save things, the text shown in the text fields is upper case, but the real value that Grails stores stays in lower case.
I am assuming I'd need to change something in the controller or anything.
Maybe transforming the $fieldValue CSS could work??
Any ideas would help!
Thnks!
You could just write setters for your domain object?
class Domain {
String aField
void setAField( String s ){
aField = s?.toUpperCase()
}
}
I think you are asking how to change values on your domain objects to uppercase. If this is not the case please clarify the question.
You have a bunch of options. I would recommend
1) In a service method, before you save, using String.toUpperCase() to modify the appropriate values on the domain object.
or
2) You can use the underlying Hibernate interceptors by defining a beforeInsert method on your domain object, and doing the toUpperCase there. (see 5.5.1 of the grails documentation)
or
3) You could do this client side. However, if it is a "business requirement" that the values are stored as upper, then I recommend doing the translation server side. It is easier to wrap tests around that code....
Using annotations is cleanest approach
import org.grails.databinding.BindingFormat
class Person {
#BindingFormat('UPPERCASE')
String someUpperCaseString
#BindingFormat('LOWERCASE')
String someLowerCaseString
}
Here is link for it: Grails doc for data binding
You can use Groovy metaprogramming to change the setter for all domain class String-typed properties without actually writing a custom setter for each property.
To do this, add something like the following to the init closure of Bootstrap.groovy
def init = { servletContext ->
for (dc in grailsApplication.domainClasses) {
Property = { String name, value ->
def metaProperty = delegate.class.metaClass.getMetaProperty(name)
if (metaProperty) {
// change the property value to uppercase if it's a String property
if (value && metaProperty.type == String) {
value = value.toUpperCase()
}
metaProperty.setProperty(delegate, value)
} else {
throw new MissingPropertyException(name, delegate.class)
}
}
}
}
