Using the fl.quit() in my JSFL script crashed Animate 2017.5 on Windows Server 2012 - windows-server-2012

I am running Flash on a Desktop mode version of Windows Server 2012 for automated builds. In my JSFL file, I am publishing files Canvas FLA files and then closing the IDE with fl.quit(false); in my code. It runs fine on my Windows 10 machine but crashes on the Windows Server 2012 machine. This is causing issues as the code is needing be run by an ant script for users who cannot see this screen and can't hit the close program button to dismiss the error and finish the build.

Discovered that Windows Server 2012 when running under desktop mode, does not work well with Animate CC and as far as I can tell there is no fix for this issue.

Visual Studio 2017 Installation breaks Windows 10 (on a MacBook Pro)

I have a fresh Windows 10 installation on my MacBook Pro (Late 2016) along with the newest Bootcamp drivers. Everything is working and shiny up until now.
When I install Visual Studio 2017 Enterprise it works up to a point where the reboot takes place. This takes really long, but windows is starting again, for about 7 minutes windows boots while showing the loading indicator. When I'm finally prompted for Login, the MacBooks keyboard and trackpad doesn't work anymore, as we'll as I don't have a wifi connection or audio (having the x sign in taskbar).
I tried the whole painfull process three times now while ending up with the same problem. Windows is broken, which means I can't reinstall the bootcamp drivers (crashes system), no system restore points can be restored (failing), I can't reset windows (breaks the boot process and results in a blank screen). I guess this is somehow related to an intercompatibility between bootcamp and Visual Studio 2017.
I'm not sure if this is related to any specific components of VisualStudio which I install. I'll try a minimal install next...
It was the same for me, Windows 10 was loading 5-8 minutes and no keyboard and touchpad support. After 3-5 re-installs(windows and VS2017), found that issue caused by Hyper-V virtualization. It is disabled by default, but as soon as you installed VS 2017 with at least one component which require Hyper-V, you will never be able to login to you windows on macbook pro.
Just DO NOT install any emulators:
Google Android emulator,
Intel hardware accelerated execution manager(HAXM),
Visual Studio emulator for Android,
Windows 10 Mobile Emulator
And Windows will work fine.

visual studio 2012 - publish windows forms app for windows 8.1

I created a very simple windows form app in visual studio 2012 on a Windows 7 machine that has been working on Windows 7 for a few years with no issues. The user upgraded to Windows 8.1 recently and when I tried to install the app, there is no error message but it doesn't work. It appears to install and creates the desktop shortcut but the application won't launch. What I can I do to make it work on Windows 8.1? I've tried using the 'run application made for previous versions of windows" but the app doesn't appear on the list and I can't seem to find the location when I try to browse to it. It seems like it should be a simple fix but I'm very inexperienced and need some help. Any suggestions are greatly appreciated.

Visual Studio 2012 hangs when opening site.master

I am using Visual Studio 2012 Ultimate 11.0.60315.01 Update 2 under Windows 7 Pro. I have been doing some non visual development with it for a while with no issues. I have just now created a fresh web forms application. As soon as I go to open the Site.master in "Design View" in the HTML editor VS freezes.
The freee results in me being unable to click elsewhere in the IDE (Menu's, Solution Explorer) etc. so it does not look as if the IDE has hung, rather that it has just stopped responding. The same behaviour is evident if I run devenv.exe /SafeMode. CPU usage is minimal and I have plenty of RAM available.
Any suggestions on how I diagnose and resolve this issue?
Running VS as administrator seems to alleviate the problem.

Visual Studio Express 2012 for Windows 8: TDD aborts environment

I have installed Visual Studio Express for Windows 8 on my development system. When I add a project for TDD and build the solution, the IDE crashes -- apparently it is unable to find any tests (even though they are there in code). The "Test Output" window indicates that it is searching for tests, and then the entire devenv crashes.
This was working correctly using the trial version of Visual Studio 2012 Professional, but since uninstalling that and replacing it with VS Express for Win8 I have had no luck in getting MSTest to work without crashing the environment.
Any ideas as to what I might be missing?
It turned out to be a collision with another process on the computer (Garmin update program). With this process stopped, Test Output works as expected. The problem was fixed in VS2013.

How can Visual C++ launch an application for debugging on a remote PC?

This is probably a duplicate but I didn't see it... is it possible to get VC++ to launch an application for debugging on a remote machine, rather than simply attaching to an already running remote executable? Ideally I would like to build, copy the new .exe to the remote machine, and launch it through the debugger, all in some easy fashion.
Is there a nice way to do this?
For Visual Studio 2010 see the section "Launching a remote process" at http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ff678494.aspx#scenarios (credit to https://stackoverflow.com/a/6499006/15926)
