I'm trying to change my user settings for Sublime Text 3 so that word wrap is disabled by default. However, I'm running into some problems. Sublime Text doesn't let you change the default settings under Preferences -> Settings. I know this and I've read every StackOverflow question that already tells me this. The answer to all of those questions is always
"Go to Preferences -> Settings - User"
or
"navigate to C:\Users\me\AppData\Roaming\Sublime Text 3\Packages\User\Preferences.sublime-settings and modify the file there."
The problem I'm having is that neither of these options seem to work. I have no Preferences -> Settings - User option (only Settings, Settings - Syntax Specific, and Settings - Distraction Free). And when I try to C:\Users\me\AppData\Roaming\Sublime Text 3\Packages\User\Preferences.sublime-settings, no such file exists. There isn't even a Sublime Text 3 folder under Roaming.
I'm using Windows 10 by the way.
The user preferences file doesn't exist until you have edited and saved your user preferences or otherwise manually created it.
On older versions of ST, it was in the Preferences menu as Settings - User, it is now Preferences -> Settings, and the pane on the right.

I am using Sublime Text editor and I need to change the settings for Sublime 3 to open files that start with a dot like .gitignore. Please let me know where in the settings I need to make the change. I am using Windows OS fyi.
This isn't a Sublime-specific option, but an operating system one, as the OS determines what is displayed in file dialogs as well as the file system explorer. To set the option on Windows, first open Windows Explorer and navigate to the folder containing the dotfile you want to view. Then, in the View tab, click the Options button on the far right, then select Change folder and search options.
You can also find Options under the File menu.
The Options window will now pop up. Select the View tab, then select the option Show hidden files, folders, and drives. Next, click on the Apply to Folders button at the top.
Similar options are also available on macOS and Linux.
My script in the code editor is not color-coded. Only terms like "put" or "else" are shown in bold letters. Is this a problem in the settings? I've made a screen capture showing the script editor with uncolorized syntax
First check the colorization settings in the Preferences stack. Colorization may be set to none, default and Revolution Classic.
You may try re-installing LiveCode. Removing the preferences stack may also help (from the LiveCode settings folder, not from the IDE folder).
Go to menu Edit/Preferences on the main bar, you will see preferences stack then click on "Reset all preferences to default" button.
I'm using the package Terminus on Sublime Text 3, and wish o change my default theme. I can't seem to be able to do it. I go to Terminus Utilities: Select Theme and select one, nothing happens. I edited the settings file to use custom colours instead, nothing happened. I used the option to Generate User Theme - no results. Please help.

When I try to open Terminus settings from Preferences > Packages > Terminus > Settings, this message is printed in the console:
Unable to open /C/Users/logic/AppData/Roaming/Sublime Text 3/Packages/Terminus/Terminus.sublime-settings
But the settings file opens anyway.
Although Sublime is a really powerful text editor but I am facing an issue. I have been using sublime text editor to view logs of my application.Suppose I have already opened file in my editor. After the logs are modified by the app server.
Sublime doesn't give any popup like we get in other editors

Also it doesn't modify the file. I have to close the file explicitly and then I re-open the file to ready the modified logs.

You are using an extremely outdated version of sublime (1.4). You can enable this functionality by upgrading and performing a small settings tweak:
Download the new SublimeText
Install it and open it
Go to the preferences menu and select "settings"
This will open the settings files for sublime, scroll down to line 349 on the left panel and copy that line.
Paste in the copied line into the right pane and replace "false" with "true"
Save and restart SublimeText
This should fix your issue entirely while also upgrading you to the awesome new SublimeText :)

File > Settings > Appearance & Behavior > System Settings > Autosave > then uncheck both Save files if the IDE is idle for |15| seconds and Save files when switching to a different application > Apply
After doing the above, you may like to do enable the following 2 options too-
Mark Changed But Unsaved File
File > Settings > Editor > General > Editor Tabs > then check Mark modified (*) > Apply
Save One File with Ctrl+S
File > Settings > Keymap > search with save document > right click Save Document > Add Keyboard Shortcut > press Ctrl+S> OK > Remove > Apply
In android Studio 2.1.1, 2016
File -> Settings -> Appearance and Behavior -> System Settings
And see synchronization paragraph and uncheck autosave and/or 'use safe write'
If you go to Settings, and type Save in the search you will find under the IDE Settings an area called "General". From there you can find a number of options to control saving. It sometimes does not work and saving will continue anyway. Unfortunately there is no universal "turn-off" switch. AS is a hand holding IDE, you just have to get use to it.
Settings section you are seeking looks like this:
For Android Studio v3.3
Open Settings (Ctrl+Alt+S or File->Settings)
On the top left corner of the settings menu, search for "save" in the search bar field
Click on System Settings and all the sub-settings related to save will be highlighted
Uncheck Save files automatically if application is idle for * sec
Click on apply and close the settings menu.
