Linking two Executable to read and write data - exe

First of all let me clear you all what am trying to achieve.
I have an exe which gives me some information when I supply the required data.
I cannot make any changes to the UI of that exe.
Now here are the first parameters that I set:
Electric Parameters
After setting the parameters I give some command through text box and receive the reply in the text area.
Here's how:Input Commands
I will then read each data and write into an excel manually.
Can I automate this whole process?
If so how?
I have thought of Inter Process Communication, but not finding any start.
Also got some guidance on using QTP (a testing tool).
Any help would be very appreciated.

The question is regarding how to automate through QTP, which is a very basic level query. Can't explain each and every concept. However, would try to give some important steps.
Load the required addin...
1) Select all the addins at the start in QTP. Try Tools==> Object spy. Then you would understand which technology the exe is built on. Once this is identified, you need to select only that addin whenever you want to automate that application
2) Launch exe through QTP ==>
SystemUtil.Run (PathOfExe)
3) Read Fields==>
Window("Window").Field("Field").GetROProperty("Value") OR
Window("Window").Field("Field").Set "Command"
4) Read the output ==>
Dim Var
Var == Window("Window").Field("Field").GetROProperty("Value")
5) Write the values in excel ==>
Set objExcel = CreateObject("Excel.Application")
Hope this helps for a start. You should try solutions of different sorts. Let us know if you come across any specific code related issues.

RTE5 using `Shell` in VBA

Background:
Recently, a macro I use via VBA (in Excel) to run a script has stopped working; this subroutine worked for the previous six years. This is on a work device in which I do not have full admin privileges. The script file is stored on a network drive which I have access to, and can open and double-click to execute.
I have read from multiple sources, each not having an answer (including here on SO), that people have begun to see RTE5 when using Shell(), which may be related to security settings from the administrator.
One suggestion was to use use ShellExecute, which I have not had luck using.
Issue:
I receive RTE5 (invalid procedure call or argument) on the line for Shell() within the below code.
Question:
Has anyone had this same issue and been able to resolve said issue? Please indicate how you resolved.
Code:
'To open file, which previously worked:
Dim Loc As String
Loc = "Z:/filename.bat"
Call Shell(Loc, 1)
'Attempt at using ShellExecute, which gives Network Access error
Dim Loc As String
Loc = "Z:/filename.bat"
Call CreateObject("Shell.Application").ShellExecute(Loc, 1)

SSIS - Power Query Source: setting connection at runtime

I'm trying to use the Power Query source component in a generic way from SSIS (VS2019).
The idea would be to use a for each loop to load and transform Excel files. At run time, I need to set the connection manager properties for each file as well as the PQY script to be executed on the file.
What I did so far is trying to create a JSON connection string inside a script component and assign the connection string to the connection manager. It keeps on saying that the file requires credentials.
Would someone already experienced that kind of dev? All the files do have the same structure so far, do meta-data need to be refreshed too?
[Edit]
1. In the control flow, I'm retrieving the PQY script I want to apply from a DB.
Before transormations, script starts like this:
let Source = Excel.Workbook(File.Contents("path_to_a_file.xlsx"),null,true),RawData_Sheet = Source{[Item="Table1",Kind="Table"]}[Data]..."
In the C# script task, I'm replacing the path to excel file by the current file variable. M Script is stored in a variable used in the PQY component.
C# Script is then updating the PQY connection manager to target the appropriate file:
ConnectionManager _conn = Dts.Connections["Power Query Connection Manager"];
String _ConnectString = "[{kind:File,path:path_to_a_file.xlss,AuthenticationKind:Windows,Username:myusername,Password:mypassword}]";
_conn.ConnectionString = _ConnectString;
The PQY component is left has it is, connected to ["Power Query Connection Manager"] and getting its script from the variable I set.
PQY configuration screen
Thanks for any tip on this,
Olivier
I can't address the specifics of the PQ but generic anything in a Data Flow will not work.
The Data Flow task works because it makes a strict contract between the source(s) and the destination(s). These columns with these data types will be in play during the run. It's a design-time contract because that allows the run-time engine to allocate resources based on how many buffers of data the system can support. Each row is X bytes, we have Y bytes of memory available, so Z buffers worth of data plus parallelism stuff.
Wish I had a better story to tell you.

Initiate "Sys" object in vbs

i'm trying to do some stuff in vbscript, and i have to take a screenshot of the screen. I don't want to use an external executable (Auto Screenshot using VBS).
I find a vbs which can be nice (how to take screenshot by vbscript?) but when i use this, it use an object (Sys), but i don't know how to create it.
I find some resources here, but i really don't know how to initiate the object "Sys", apparently it's like already "in" the vbscript, but it doesn't works for me.
I tried some stuff (Set Sys = CreateObject("System") or things like that, but nothing works :(
I hope you'll find something ^^
The question you've referenced looks like a low-quality question. The references to "Sys" that you see appear to be in a product called TestComplete. See How to capture a screenshot using VBScript in TestComplete? You'd need to acquire and install TestComplete to use it, or find another program to capture screenshots instead.

xlsread、xlswrite not work in matlab

matlab (2015b) in my new notebook ThinkPad function xlsread/ xlswrite not work
for every exist excel file, xlsread not load the data
xlswrite also not work in every path
error use xlsread (line251)
catch exception
if isempty(exception.identifier)
exception = MException('MATLAB:xlsreadold:FormatError','%s', exception.message);
end
throw(exception);
the method import data also not work for excel file。
I found this answer in
https://cn.mathworks.com/matlabcentral/answers/282688-why-my-excel-file-can-not-be-read-by-matlab hope it can help you:
Who has problem to read excel file, can follow this order.
1- open the excel> file, >option, >add in, manage then select COM ADD IN, and clear everything (unchecked). everything should be cleared (unchecked).
2- restart the PC, and open the matlab.
3- perform xlsread command.
NOTE: for those people who use foxit pdf reader, it is potential to face this problem, so follow mentioned order.
NOTE: sometimes by using the matlab, configuration of excel is changed in unknown way, therefore there is no way to open the usual excel file in windows by double click.
So, open excel from desktop icon, file> option,> advanced,> general and then make clear (unchecked) "the ignore applications that use dynamic data exchange (DDE)". (same information for NOTE 2: https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/3001579) these are some error for excel worker with matlab and related command.

Scriptom (groovy) leaves Excel process running - am I doing something wrong?

I am using the Scriptom extension to Groovy 1.7.0 to automate some processing using Excel 2007 under Windows XP.
This always seems to leave an Excel process running despite my calling quit on the excel activeX object. (There is a passing reference to this phenomenon in the Scriptom example documentation too.)
Code looks like:
import org.codehaus.groovy.scriptom.ActiveXObject;
def xls = new ActiveXObject("Excel.Application")
xls.Visible = true
// do xls stuff
xls.Quit()
The visible excel window does disappear but an EXCEL process is left in the task manager (and more processes pile up with each run of the script).
There are no error message or exceptions.
Can anyone explain why the Excel process is left behind and is there any way to prevent it from happening?
This works:
xls.Quit()
Scriptom.releaseApartment()
The javadocs state:
In some cases, the JVM can close
before everything is cleaned up, which
can leave automation servers
(especially Excel) hanging. Call this
before your script exits to get
correct behavior from automation
servers.
Looks like you are missing
xls.release();
like it is done here.
