When deploying an existing Xamarin forms proj from Visual Studio I was getting errors like "Failed to load AOT module ‘System.Net.Http’ while running in aot-only mode". This had worked in the past, it seemed Xcode had recently updated before I hit the problem. I found I was able to get the project deploying by changing the csproj entry 10.0 to 10.3. It looks like I could change this setting and everyone would be ok if they also had updated xcode.
My concern is: Does this change what versions of iOS the application can support? Would it have any other surprises when deployed to the apple store?
One thing I don't understand is I am the only person seeing this issue. Another developer is able to deploy to an iOS device (iPad instead of an iPhone) that also has the latest version of iOS without problems. Running “xcodebuild -version” shows we have the same version of xcode installed (8.3.1) and running “xcodebuild -showsdks” shows we have the same iOS sdk available (iOS 10.3).

You can build against a higher version of the SDK and run against lower versions of iOS.
Building against different versions of the iOS SDK can cause differences in behavior, these may show as regressions in your application.

Android Things Version: Developer Preview 6.1 which has 11.6.0 Play Services.
We need to show the UI on external displays like TV with Android Things, but the Google Cast feature does not seem to work with Chrome Cast.
To Test the code we manipulated our source code, so that it can run on Android Device; which runs perfectly fine. But when we try it on Things, it does not discover any devices to cast.
We also tried similar procedure with the Google Sample - CastRemoteDisplay-android
The above sample works on Android Devices but the same does not work on Android Things 6.1 developer preview; after making required changes to run on Things
We also tried different Play Services versions from 10.x and 11.x
We also tried to change the API level from 23 to 27
But all results the same

After lots of trial and research, I found out that the version of Play Services installed on Things Developer Preview 6.1 does not support it. It lacks GMS Core, because of which currently not possible.
In the mean time I'll try to search and side load OpenGapps with GMS Core, but I am not sure if it will work
I am making a small basic game for multiple mobile platforms using cocos 2dx, I have done all the coding in c++ on xcode and the project is running fine for iOS and android.
But when porting to windows phone I am facing a lot of hurdles. I am using cocos2dx 2.1.3 on visual studio 2012 express on 64 bit windows 8 with windows 8 phone SDK.
Firstly i don't get templates for cocos2dx, then there is no option to run the project in simulator or device. I have been digging the internet alot for this and have found some tutorials but all of them have one or the other limitations.
can somebody guide me with this windows part or a totally new way round to implement cocos2dx on multiple platforms ?

There are a couple build scripts available to generate project types for all platforms in python, as seen here.
(this works with 2.1.2 or later)

Newer versions of cocos2d-x have build scripts for all platforms that come with the latest git repos. Not sure if there are a lot of breaking changes but the newer versions also have build projects.(build-win32.bat)
About the project template.
The templates for windows 8, at least in the last stable release I looked at a month ago, still had some issues with the html in the c++ project wizard but, the current development branch should have that fixed for the windows 8 visual studio browser. If they haven't then there are a couple of html meta-data tags that will need to be removed as they are depreciated in order for the project wizard to be usable.
I have got an application developed with Monotouch 4.0.7. This app is running on iPads with iOS 4.3.
Now, I want to migrate to the latest Monotouch version is 5.0. Will I be able to deploy my app on iPads with iOS 4.3? Or Monotouch 5.0 only for iOS 5.0?
Yes, it is possible to develop for iOS 4.3 (or even earlier iOS versions) with MonoTouch 5.0.
To set the minimum iOS version your app needs, go to the project's options, and in the iPhone Application page set Deployment Target to the minimum version.
Have in mind that MonoTouch will not tell you if you use iOS 5.0 API in your app. You can add iOS 5.0 features to your app, but you must not try to use those features on a lower version (here you can see how to accomplish this).
You can upgrade to Monotouch 5.x without any problems. In Monodevelop, change your SDK to 5.x
Just make sure your deployment target remains 4.3, if you still want to target that platform.
You will have to pay attention to not calling any methods that don't exist in 4.3.
If you want to have different/extended behavior on iOS 5 devices, you can check the OS version and use a different code branch.
Another small thing to be prepared for: iOS5 behaves differently in some situations. For instance if you are having hierarchical UIViewControllers, iOS5 will automatically call all UI events like ViewWillAppear(), even if you don't use the new UIViewControllery hierachy API.
What I want to say: test your app thoroughly on both iOS versions.
I started a project under iOS 3.1 and I stopped developing for a while. Now I installed the new SDK with iOS 4.1. If I wanna build now, there is a error message which says "There is no SDK with the name or path 'iphoneos3.1', which actually make sense.
So how can I "upgrade" my project to iOS 4.1?

In the project settings search for base SDK and set this to 4.1. You might set the deployment target to 3.x on the targets' info page (that is if you want to target 3.x, of course).
I have installed the Netbeans 6.7 IDE with Java ME included, but cannot create a Mobile Application project from the Java ME category. When I select the project type the wizard stops at "Finding Feature" with the message:
Not all requested modules can be enabled:

I am attempting to run this on Vista Home Premium. I have tried to run the IDE as Administrator with no luck.
I am at a loss for where to go next as I cannot seem to find any information regarding this issue. Even if you don't have the solution any insight into this error message would be helpful.
I am unable so far to get the project running via the Netbeans IDE install. I have, for the time being, installed the Java ME SDK which includes a very stripped down version of the Netbeans IDE for mobile development.
I originally had some issues starting the SDK as well on Vista. The IDE reported that it could not connect to the device manager on localhost. After some searching I found this link: Java ME SDK Startup Problem which suggests changing the hosts file localhost entry from IPv6 to IPv4. The fix worked perfectly and I can now compile and run code in the emulator.
This is not an optimal solution as the SDK does not include the visual design tools, however I am able to get a basic project going in the mean time.
I have given up on the 6.7 version and have instead located and installed 6.5.1. This previous version has been working just fine and seems to do everything I need.
I ran into the exact same error today while installing NB 6.8 beta. To resolve it we need to install two plugins:
Java Web Applications (as mentioned by Ali above) and
Sun Java System Web Server 7.0
Note that these two are part of the Category called "Java Web and EE" hence the confusion that we need to install Glassfish App Server. But we need these two plugins because they are required for debugging using breakpoints in emulator. Netbeans runs a web server when we do breakpoint based debugging.
Also note that the Java Web applications needs SOAP Web Services and JavaScript Debugger plugins to run and so these plugins are also installed when you try to install it.
You also need to install "Java Web Applications" plugin.
Tools->Plugins->Available Plugins
If the module is present, you should try unzipping it to check its content makes sense.
You should also be able to rebuild it from Netbeans sources.
You can also try to figure out why this happens by debugging the module loader inside Netbeans from its sources, using another IDE, presumably the latest version of Netbeans you can find without the issue.
If the module is missing, you might want to get the missing jar file from an installation of a previous version of Netbeans, see if it is compatible.
6.5.1 isn't missing any module.
back in version 5.5, the mobility module had to be downloaded and installed separately from the main IDE.
