Please help me with this.
The problem is solved by downloading and saving the spark-assembly jar onto the HDFS cluster and adding this property to the eclipse code set("spark.yarn.jar" "hdfs//namenode:8020/

I am following this tutorial to run Spark-Pi Application using kubectl command from here. https://github.com/GoogleCloudPlatform/spark-on-k8s-operator/blob/master/docs/quick-start-guide.md#running-the-examples.
When I use spark-on-operator to submit a spark task, an error occurs. I use kubectl apply -f examples/spark-pi.yaml to submit the job,but it failed.
And my spark version is 2.4.4 and the spark-on-operator version is v1beta2-1.0.1-2.4.4.
Here are the messages:

Afterwards, I tried to modify the Dockerfile, add kubernetes-client-4.1.2.jar to the yaml file, and re-create the docker image. But the error message is the same.My Dockerfile is :
ARG spark_image=gcr.io/spark-operator/spark:v2.4.4
FROM $spark_image
RUN mkdir -p /opt/spark/jars
ADD https://repo1.maven.org/maven2/io/fabric8/kubernetes-
client/4.1.2/kubernetes-client-4.1.2.jar /opt/spark/jars
ENV SPARK_HOME /opt/spark
WORKDIR /opt/spark/work-dir
ENTRYPOINT [ "/opt/entrypoint.sh" ]
Anybody help woud be appreciate
Spark-on-operator requires that the version of k8s is 1.13+, but in the openshift I use, the version of k8s is 1.11+, so replacing it with a higher version of k8s can solve the problem.
I'm trying to start the spark-jobserver. I can't find any reference to this akka library on the installation steps provided on the GitHub spark_jobserver page.
I'm running spark in standalone mode on a single server which act as a master/node.
But when I execute
./job-server/server_start.sh
it shows the following error:

Two steps to solve this issue:
The spark-job-server.jar created after execute ./bin/server_package.sh < enviroment> it have to be moved to the jars folder located on $SPARK_HOME
Nevertheless I had to download akka-slf4j_2.11.0-RC3-2.3.0.jar and put it on the $SPARK_HOME/jars folder too.
We have HDinsight cluster running on Azure. I was trying to create a client machine to connect to HDInsight. I followed the instruction from Hortonworks installation guide to install all client component, and then copied /etc/hadoop/conf from one of the HDInsight node to this new node. But when I try to access the cluster by hadoop fs -ls I get following error
root#sbd-docker:~# hadoop fs -ls /

then copied /etc/hadoop/conf from one of the HDInsight node
...
ClassNotFoundException: com.microsoft.log4jappender.EtwAppender
This indicates you copied the log configuration and the HDInsight appears to have a Microsoft specific log4j extension using ETW. Do you want/need this logging? If yes, you need to make sure you copy the relevant JARs from the HDInsight libs. If not, change the node logging configuration not to use this class.
You need microsoft-log4j-etwappender-1.0.jar
In my project, we need to add a Spark action containing Hive context to an Oozie workflow. Previous Spark actions worked properly because previous Spark actions do not contain HiveContext. However, when the Spark action contains HiveContext, it can not work anymore because of error:

Versions:
Spark: 1.6.1
Hive: 1.2
Oozie: 4.2.0
Anyone has any idea about how to fix this problem? Thanks in advance
When I ran a query on hive console in debug mode, I got an error as listed below. I'm using hive-1.2.1 and spark 1.5.1; I checked the hive-exec jar, which has the class definition org/apache/hive/spark/client/Job .

And finally the query fails with:
"ERROR spark.SparkTask: Failed to execute spark task, with exception 'java.lang.IllegalStateException(RPC channel is closed.)'"*
How can I resolve this issue?
In hive-1.2.1 pom.xml, the spark.version is 1.3.1
So, The easy way is dowload a spark-1.3.1-bin-hadoop from spark.apache.org.
then, add it's path to hive-site.xml like:
<property>
<name>spark.home</name>
<value>/path/spark-1.3.1-bin-hadoop2.4</value>
</property>
