Is there any way to make a widget's config and move buttons be placed at the top of the widget itself.
As it is one has to hover over a widget in order to see which one of the items in the widget zone it belongs to. This is impossible though when the content of the widget is not in the same screen space (I had to zoom out in the browser in order to get the below screenshot) unless you zoom out and then zoom back in.
In this image, there are 3 seperate widgets (red, white and green respectively) in a single widget zone.
Also, when the mouse leaves the widget the widget config/move buttons are no longer visible.
One solution is to right-click on the widget and then scroll up to the config wheel but this is not something I want to tell my editors they have to do.
Has anyone else come across this problem and if so, how did they solve it?
This can happen when you have CSS conflicts. You can use Chrome Inspector, Firebug, or IE developer tool to investigate and see if anthing is 'overlapping' those buttons (often a floating div is overlapping the buttons and intercepting the 'click')
Then once you figure out a css class to make it work, just add it to your style sheet with ".EditMode " before it, this is a special class that is on the body when in page editor.
Example:
.EditMode .MyFloatingDivThatsCoveringTheWidgets {
z-index: 0;
}

I try to use column header menus and row context menus in my tabulator but nothing appear. Then I realize in the DOM that the menu is there but out of the window and at the top of the tree in the dom, it's the div with the class tabulator-menu.
The DOM, the div with smd take the whole page
I use Vuejs with Bootstrap 4.
How to make it appear at the right place ?
Thanks
The menu is appearing in exactly the correctly place in the DOM.
It is standard practice in a lot of context menu libraries to append the menu directly to the body rather than to the element that triggered it, this happens because menus are often long and overflow their containing element, by absolutely positioning the elements in the DOM the sit on top of these and prevent this being an issue.
It is hard to say without seeing an example, but it is likely a z-index issue that is causing the problem.
By default Tabulator menus have a z-index of 10,000 if you have anything with a z-index higher than this it will sit over the menu.
To resolve this you simply need to add a bit of CSS after you have imported the tablator style sheet, that changes the z-index to be higher than any others on your page:
.tabulator-menu{
z-index: 99999999;
}
I have a Vaadin 8 application with several views.
public class ViewName extends Panel implements View {
There is a VerticalLayout as main layout in the panel.
public ViewName() {
setSizeFull();
VerticalLayout mainLayout = new VerticalLayout();
setContent(mainLayout);
Then I have many different layouts (HorizontalLayout, GridLayout) or Components such as Label being added as components to the mainLayout. For the HorizontalLayouts I often do the following to use the full width of the screen:
hLayout.setWidth("100%");
I have a lot of icons, grids etc. Everything is OK as long as I don't resize the window.
When I resize the window to a small size I get a mess (icons, text etc. on top of each other) and no horizontal scrollbar. (However, the grids get horizontal scrollbars.) I have tried many things to fix this. If I add
mainLayout.setSizeFull();
or
mainLayout.setWidth("100%");
I have a mess on the big screen already. I also tried the CSS for the mainLayout as described here. I get several scrollbars but none for the window itself!
The only component that resizes correctly is a Label added to the mainLayout, e.g.:
Label title = new Label("Some text",ContentMode.HTML);
title.setWidth(100, Unit.PERCENTAGE);
mainLayout.addComponent(title);
mainLayout.setComponentAlignment(title, Alignment.MIDDLE_CENTER);
I also noticed that anything in a GridLayout seems to stay in place after resizing but is not vissible since I have no scrollbar. However, icons in a HorizontalLayout get on top of each other.
What is wrong? Please, I need a general instruction on which layout I should use as main layout for my view panel, how to size the components and how to get ONE horizontal scrollbar for the main window if necessary.
The problem is that you are setting the width of your mainLayout to the width of your view. This means, that your mainLayouts width will never be bigger than your views width. So no scroll bar will appear.
According to the information you posted, changing your mainLayouts width to undefined should fix the problem.
mainLayout.setWidth("-1px");
I can't post images yet so if you look here you can see my menu and the shadow from the content on the right is mostly alpha channel that is covering my menu items. This is catching all the interaction that I want to go to the menu buttons. How can I fix this while still having the shadow?
I have already tried these different functions of the View class:
.setAlpha(0);
.setEnabled(false);
.setClickable(false);
.setEnabled(false);
.setFocusable(false);
All to no avail. With .setVisibility(GONE) the buttons work, but there is no shadow. So I need a way to keep the shadow and allow clicks through.
my website, has some issues acting different for different browsers.
the red panel appearing under the grey buttons on bottom,seems only ff,not other browsers.
when user clicks one of grey buttons on the bottom,red panel should start under the white panel.but it starts a little bit of its left side.
the white panel on the left side on islerimiz.html(which user clicks middle button on bottom) page should be blurred.i added script for this but it is not doing blurring thing.the same script is on the iletisim.html(which user clicks rightest button on bottom) page and it is working truly.
ie6 errors:
the red point seems as a rectangle.
red panel script is not working.
the background of page and the logo's background should be the same but they seems different
the blurred panel on islerimiz.html page is not appearing at all.the bottom buttons seems true but the active button's color should be black but it seems grey too.besides little pictures should appear when mouse hover on the grey buttons,appears on open position.
the blurred panel on iletisim.html is not appearing.the pictures on the blured panel appears with shadows and shape is rectangle.also the links on that pictures is not clickable.
how can i solve this problems with css.if i couldn't solve with css,i can try jquery but my first choice is css.i have more than one javascript library on index page.but if i remove one of them,some scripts is not working.
almost all of those issues are because you are using pngs. switch them to gifs. apply them in a style sheet wrapped in conditional comments, at least for ie6, and a percentage of that list will go away. your selectivizrCSSForIEselectivizr.js is also targeting greater than ie6. i'm not sure what the red panel script exactly is, but i see you are adding webm file for ie...idk 100%, but i'll say it doesn't support that format either. convert it to media type that ie6 likes, and again, only serve this up in the ie6 conditional comments
I got a menu in an existing MFC application that has a standard MFC main menu.
But I would like to change its background colour so that it appears to more seamlessly belong to the rest of the application.
First picture: An MFC main menu. The application is skinned blue, as seen in the toolbar, but the menu is still standard grey background colour.
Second Picture: Spotify's menu, skinned to fit into the rest of the
colors.
I have not found any examples on anything similar. Could you please point me towards how to achieve this?
Approaches I thought of:
Subclassing CMenu to my own SkinnedMenu, but it is not created by our code but by a GetMenu() call in a mainframe class deriving from CFrameWnd. The only thing I can find here is its method signature, defined in afxwin.h so then how could I make use my own subclassed menu?
Removing the entire menu and add my own custom menu buttons, in a row, making it look like a menu. Maybe this is what spotify have done, as they have also removed the Windows window frame.
Editing the existing CMenu in some way, but the only customization I am able to find right now is modifying its MENUINFO. For example if I set info.hbrBack = skin.GetSysColorBrush(COLOR_MENU) the only colour that changes is the background of the dropdown, not the main menu itself.
