Configure Azure DNS - azure

I'm trying to bind my azure website to a third level domain.
This is my configuration on the Azure portal:
This is my domain provied A-Record console:
And this is my domain provider CName-Record console:
With this configuration the application works on http://www.test.mysite.biz but it doens't work on http://test.mysite.biz
(on http://test.mysite.biz it is displayed a page "domain reserved")
What Am I doing wrong?
Thanks a lot

You need to add another cname to your website
awverify.test pointing to awverify.yourazureapp.azurewebsites.net
check on https://www.whatsmydns.net/ to verify that awverify.test.yourwebsite.biz it is pointing to awverify.yourazureapp.azurewebsites.net

DNS Transfer from Plesk Domain Controller to Azure

Good Afternoon,
after 2-3 Days trying to move my Domain from a Webhoster to Azure, i need your Help.
My actual Webhoster has Plesk. Over Plesk i can access and change all the DNS Entrys.
https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/azure/dns/dns-delegate-domain-azure-dns
Based on this Walkthrough i'll have created 4 Entrys at my actual WebHoster and the Verification of the Domain is allright. When i run the command
nslookup -type=SOA #mydomain# i see a azure dns.
https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/azure/app-service/manage-custom-dns-migrate-domain
After that i wanted to create a Test App in Azure. Based on the above Walkthroughs i managed to set my Custom Domain for my App Service. I made this Settings at my old WebHoster and in my newly created DNS-Zone in Azure.
So far so good. So I have deactivated the local DNS Service in Plesk in order to move on to Azure that should manage my DNS now. So i'll have deleted the Custom Domain in my App Service and created it again but this time it should point to my Azure DNS. But in the Creation Dialog of Creating a Custom Domain it tells me that im not the owner of the Domain.
Im confused and floating somwhere in the Dark. Could some guys point to the right direction. Do i have to do additional Entrys in the Azure DNS?
I hope someone can understand my bad Descriptions :).
Thanks for every help
After you host your domain in Azure DNS, you only need to manage your DNS entry in the Azure DNS zone.
Thus, in the step of migrating an active DNS name to Azure App Service, you can create domain verification records in the Azure DNS zone.
Then you also need to add the custom domain to the web app and remap the active DNS records via A or CNAME record following that steps in the document.
Thanks Nancy for the answer.
i could solve the Problem. I found this ?-Button in Plesk that let you test the DNS-Zone on the Nameserver. There was an ip poping up that does not belong to an A-Reccord. But the weird thing is thtat this Ip-Adress also did not belong to the App-Service IP.
But as soon as i added this Ip everything went fine and is working now.
Thanks

Azure URL is not working for the new CNAME entry

Recently we have created a new CNAME entry for the internal react website which is deployed in Azure. It has been pointed to traffic manager since we are deploying in two regions. After the CNAME entry is create, the URL throws 404 error. We have already configured the entry access restriction to all internal users. Appreciate if anyone can help to identify the issue.
For the error, you could add the new CNAME subdomain to your app service---custom domains---add custom domain as the picture displaying steps 1-5. After you validate the subdomain and add the subdomain into the custom domains, you should access the subdomain URL via the traffic manager. Read this blog for more details.
In addition, only Web Apps at the Standard SKU or above are eligible for use with Traffic Manager. Attempts to add a Web App of a lower SKU fail. Read Azure web apps as the endpoints.

DNS_PROBE_FINISHED_NXDOMAIN error when conntecting to 'website.com' but not 'www.website.com'

I have a static website hosted on an azure CDN (Verizon premium plan). There is a custom domain associated with this, lets call it www.website.com.
When typing 'website.com' into the nav bar, it returns a DNS_PROBE_FINISHED_NXDOMAIN error. However when typing 'www.website.com' it returns fine.
Is there a way that 'website.com' can be mapped/redirected to 'www.website.com'?
Your scenario is pointing apex domain to Azure Services, here Storage account.
Here is the Azure documentation which helps you to configure: https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/azure/dns/dns-alias#point-zone-apex-to-azure-cdn-endpoints
Let me know if you have any questions while configuring.
In this case, you could also enable the custom domain website.com in your Azure CDN. If so, you could host your custom domain in Azure DNS first then add an alias record that points to your Azure CDN endpoint in the DNS zone for your custom domain.

Azure Web App naked URL redirects but www does not

I have a web app deployed on Azure and I'm trying to make it so both <myurl>.com and www.<myurl>.com work. Right now I have both domains listed on Azure within my webapp. www.<myurl>.com is registered as a CNAME from www to <myurl>.azurewebsites.net in godaddy. I have an A record from # to the IP address shown by Azure, as well as a TXT record from # to the given DNS by Azure <myurl>.azurewebsites.net
The problem is when I go to http://<myurl>.com it will change the URL to <myurl>.azurewebsites.net but when I go to http://www.<myurl>.com the URL is does not change.
Below are my go daddy DNS records. Most of these were there when I bought the domain so I'm not sure what they do. There is an A record that I can't seem to edit and I don't know what that IP address belongs to either.
Alot of this can be done with an A and a CNAME. You will need to add both "www" and "awverify.www" in your DNS, and do those corresponding entries in the Azure portal.
Here's good doc:
https://blogs.msdn.microsoft.com/kaushal/2013/07/05/azure-app-service-how-to-configure-a-custom-domain/
Here's alot more details:
https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/azure/app-service/app-service-web-tutorial-custom-domain
The Azure portal will also give clues on what to do.

Azure WebApps custom domain - CNAME pointed to azurewebsite must exist?

We are trying to migrate sites from AWS to Azure WebApps.
AS IS:
The CNAME of the existing site points to Imperva. Imperva then points to AWS Site.
TO BE:
The CNAME of the existing site points to Imperva. Imperva then points to Azure WebApp Site.
PROBLEM:
When I try to add the custom domain to azure Web Apps website, it complains with the error that the existing Site MUST have CNAME pointing to Azure Website.
see example below:
This means that as part of cutover, we need to do below:
1. Quicky update CNAME to point to azure web app
2. Once custom domain is setup in azure
3. Change the CNAME back to Imperva.
This sounds bit hacky.
Is above right approach or am I missing anything here?
The part that you're missing is the direction of the CNAME. What Azure wants to do is to ensure that you do actually have authority over that domain name. So they want you to create a CNAME that points from awverify.www.example.com to www.example.com
Once that record is created Azure will looking that record and ensure that it redirects to www.example.com. This has no impact on any existing configuration (unless you just happen to have awverify sub domain in uswe already!)
www.example.com will still work in exactly the same way as before until you are ready to move that name to Azure.
