Get ASN information from an IP in Node.js - node.js

I'm currently trying to get the ASN number and name/description from an IP via Node.js, but I can't find any library that works/supports it. All I can find is geo-location which do not help me. Is there any way to do this that I am not aware of?
Edit: I'd like to mention I cannot use any 3rd party APIs.
Cheers

How can I find where was my website hosted

Ok it may sound strange, but I forgot where is one of my websites hosted.
I remember the domain name and I have access to setup the DNS server, but I don't remember the nameserver. It was something like ns113.icndns.net but I checked and the domain is not there.
When I use that tool I see my domain name listed there: https://viewdns.info/reverseip/?host=nemo.icnhost.net&t=1
But what are the dns server names? Is there an easy way to find or am I missing something general knowledge? Please help.
p.s. I don'g have access to the hosting account and the guy having it will return at the end of the week, but it is too late.
Some website do the job for you, such as https://who.is
it will give informations regarding a specific url.
You can also use command whois from nslookup tools to resolve those kinds of problems

writing a iiop client in order to dynamically configure a cisco appliance

My firm is about to purchase a cisco appliance named dcm.
It's only api is a limited snmp or iiop.
I want to create a simple gui that will help my users configure certain fields on the dcm with ease.
I have done this before with snmp but have zero expirience with iiop.
I preffer to implement with either java or python.
I would appreciate if someone can point me in the right direction (java/python, recommended libraries etc.)
BTW i saw a lot of mentions about rmi-iiop but I'm pretty sure it's irrelevant. ( am I right?)
Thanks.

Restrict web tools access in OFbiz

Currently my web tools front end is running in OFBiz and is accessible from the whole wide world (www) just like the ecommerce store.
I don’t like that a bit. Although it is protected by strong password.
Can I restrict that app access to certain IP addresses or from local host only?
It would be best if that application can run on different port altogether or listening on 127.0.0.1 interface only. Or both :)
Any experience with this, please?
Kind Regards,
Boris
I'm new to Ofbiz and working within (mostly) the opentaps context. From what I see I'm not sure you can achieve this but perhaps it's possible to change the mount-point of the webapp for added security such that it's not obviously accesible through the default OOTB name.
I'll reply later on in the future when I have looked into this myself. +1 for the question btw.

How do you limit access to a site by geographical location?

I need to come up with a way to limit users' access to a page to IP addresses within North Carolina. This has to do with usage rights for some MP3 audio. Are there companies that provide this service or is there a list of IP address ranges for a geographical location? This is on a Unix, JBoss/Seam environment. Thanks.
Despite the fact that is not a good idea (users can use a proxy and bypass this restriction), you can find many services googling for it: http://www.google.com/search?client=ubuntu&channel=fs&q=ip+geolocation&ie=utf-8&oe=utf-8
As far as I know, http://www.maxmind.com is one of the best availableand is used in sites like Sourceforge.
You should implement this restrictions on your application not your server via .htaccess files.
I doubt such a list is available. You can check the register information from the IP address you receive which resolves to the ISP of the user (not very accurate).
But there is always a way to bypass this using proxy services like proxy.org (or google proxy)
use geoip by http://www.maxmind.com/
they have both free and subscription-based services (more precise)
You can try ip2location, and from that list try extracting specific providers in North Carolina. When you check the IP, you can query that list to get the provider and check if that provider in that area or not.
Hope this helps.

dns for dynamic IP

I'd like to know the best solutions to get a public static dns or IP adress to access a computer on a routed network (for example to access from the internet a PC in my home LAN).
I heard about no-ip and dyndns.
Are they good? which one is the best? Is it really reliable ?
This is a server fault question, but to provide an answer anyway, I use dyndns.org, it works nicely ( most routers even have auto update support built in, and for those that dont there desktop updater works just fine. )
dyndns.org seems to have amazingly reliable uptime, and i cant talk for noip as i have never used it. give them a try and see which one you like more.
There are several free dynamic DNS services like afraid.org, dynu.com etc. You may want to go with one which has an open API so that you can use it from within your application.
May be you can have a look at https://www.good-dns.net/
Very simple to use, provides a URL for automatic IP update, so suitable for dynamic IPs.
There a lot options available - as far as I know dyn.org are not free for while already. And I am using https://myonlineportal.net
But you have to test by yourself and figure out which suit best for you. Sometimes it's just the available domain name.
