Spotify API - Get track foreign ID - spotify

Since Spotify announced to close Echo Nest API and migrate several methods in Spotify API, I decided to implement theses new functions now.
Like Echo Nest API, is it possible to get a track with a foreign ID like Deezer ? Or to get the foreign ID of a Spotify track ? At May 31 maybe ?
Thanks.

Right now there is no info about it. No one can tell. I already know of another developer hoping for the same. He asked about it here and here. You can see that he posted on Spotify web api Github site and got no answer.

Is it possible to access a friends Instagram pictures without his access_token?

I heard that Instagram recently changed their APIs and I have a related question to that.
Let's assume I would like to build an "Instagram feed app of people I follow". So this app would just show me the pictures of all people I follow. From what I understand this would be possible, but I would always have same manual effort:
From the Instagram developer website I understand that I need the access_token from all my friends.
Do I understand that correctly?
This would mean every time I follow someone new, I would have to get his/her access_token manually and add it into my app.
Do I understand this correctly or is there a programmatic/automated way to get the needed access_token from the new followed person?
Yes, you are correct. This is not possible at the moment. I'm not sure how you would get the access token of friends. You would have to have them login as well. BTW: This seems to be the way facebook is going (since they now control Instagram). They require that both friends have authorized your app and then they will list their followers.

Is there any way to get an artist's user id with the Spotify API?

One of the cool things about Spotify is the ability to view playlists created by both users and artists.
You can get a list of playlists for any user with:
https://api.spotify.com/v1/users/{user_id}/playlists
This will work if you plug in an artist's user id as well.
Example: https://api.spotify.com/v1/users/officialfoofighters/playlists returns playlists created by Foo Fighters (the actual band).
The problem is that I see no way to programmatically get an artist's user id. The actual artist id is different and will not work. I managed to manually get Foo Fighter's user id in a hacky way using the Spotify desktop client, but I would like to find a programmatic solution.
Anyone know of any workarounds?
I'm happy that you're asking for this, because it's a feature that we've been wanting to add to the Web API for a while. So even though the answer to this question is that it isn't possible to find an artist's username using the Web API (and the other way around) right now, I'd urge you to keep up to date on changes in the API through #SpotifyPlatform or our Change Log.

Is there a way to get Instagram #Mention History via API or otherwise?

The native application doesn't show all the activity, only the most recent.
Therefore I lose 70-90% of my notifications overnight. There must be a way to get all that historical data.
I told you can't, but, thinking.. you can. :)
The API don't provide that facility.. You can check all endpoints here: http://instagram.com/developer/endpoints/
But you can iterate over all your medias an get all comments and likes. If you store it locally, after, will be possible to request API again and check your new unseen interactions.
It will work for likes and comments.

How to lookup Spotify User metadata (playlists, currently playing, etc)

I only see Artist, Album, and Tracks lookups in the docs. I want to display what I'm currently listening to. Is there a way to do this using the API?
https://developer.spotify.com/technologies/web-api/lookup/
Spotify does not provide this at this time. You can either get it by turning on last.fm scrobbling or accessing facebook music data.
As Thomas said Spotify does not provide such a feature 'directly'.
But there are some ways to get it work.
You have to me some more sprcific what you want to do. Web/Desktop/App
I wrote a tiny console app using an external dll
"File/Link removed" - send pm for further information!
If this is what you need just message me. It's a rly tiny application just for test purposes! Because I currently develop a overlay.

foursquare api who's been there

I which to display on my website a the list of maybe the last 5 peoples who checked in my venue.
I didn't find any method in the api to do that, the closest was showing your friend...
I tell my boss that it wasn't possible to do that then he shows me this site :
http://www.brooklynmuseum.org/community/foursquare/
How is it possible to get this kind of list and if possible with no authentication (my server will do the call no a real person so no oauth...)
thanks !
You can use the Venue Push API (documented here) to notify your website whenever a user checks in to your managed venue, which you can use to update such a list.
