Share a feed post using http://getstream.io/ - getstream-io

By using http://getstream.io/ I am able to load all feeds and feeds by user also able to like or comment on feed post. Now wanna achieve sharing of feed post. How should I do it?
Following is the point that I have in my mind
insert the existing feed again for the user who wanna share
Is there any other way provided by http://getstream.io/ to share the post?

What is the best way to add a user feed to his own timeline?

I would like to build an Instagram-like social app, where on the user timeline, you also have his own activities displayed. My first thought was to follow his own user feed but from what I read in this blog post: https://getstream.io/blog/best-practices-for-instagram-style-feeds/
We recommend blocking a user's timeline feed from following their own user feed
Can someone explain why it would be a bad practice ? How could I implement my use case if that is the case ?
Thanks !
Looking at this myself. I think the logic they describe is incorrect. The full statement in context make a little more sense in terms of what I think they mean.
We recommend blocking a user's timeline feed from following their own
user feed, and also blocking users from seeing/following another
user's timeline feed.
The first part of the sentence I believe is backwards. What I think it should says is that the "user" feed should be blocked from following the "timeline" feed. The user feed should just contain actions that the user performed, so it shouldn't contain data from the timeline feed. But if you want the user's activities to appear in the timeline feed than it seems to me that you should definetly make the user's timeline feed follow thier user feed, and prevent the user's timeline feed from unfollowing their own user feed.
The second part that says you should block users from following another user's timeline feed. I believe this is correct because the timeline feed is a series of peronalised items for an individual user. It doesn't make sense to follow another user's timeline feed.
This is how I have implemented my logic and it seems to be working so far, but if I come across any issues with it I'll come back here and update this answer.

Spring Data Rest Frontend deep linking

So i have been struggling with this one question some time now:
How to handle details Page or deep linking on the Frontend.
So, say, we got a paged collection endpoint with user entities in it and a React App consuming the endpoint.
The flow would be, user authenticates, gets collections, clicks on an item and is either:
Redirected to a new Url say: webapp.com/users/userid
A modal opens with the user details.
Say we got a scenario were two people working with the webapp, Person 1 wants to share a link with Person 2. Person 2 should do some updates on a specific user, which is identified by the link.
The link should be something like : https://www.webapp.com/users/{slug or id}
With Option 2 this functionality is not mappable.
With Option 1 we got to expose the ids in the response to identify the resource, which may work, but we would still need to hardcode the url, as the findById method is not exported as a Uri Template.
So, my Solution would be to add a slug for the resources, implement a search method by the slug, and then get the user, if found, by its self-link.
Sounds like a good solution for me, but on the other hand, I would have to add an extra frontend id(the slug here) which would need to be also unique, to the database model.
So how do you guys handle a problem like this, or is there anybody using spring data rest in this way or in production mode where you have the handle situations like this?
Should mention that this isn’t a primary problem with spring data rest but rather with hateoas itself.
thanks in advance
Florian
You don't need to hardcode URL template. Spring data rest will generate links for each resource.
You can refer to it from front end by some format like: {your_user_object}._links.self.href

Retrieving a post's likes

In my application, I have a 'user_post' feed which is responsible for storing the posts of a user. I would like a way to retrieve the likes of each individual post.
If I added a feed called 'post_like' I could store the likes of each post in their own feed. Is this approach efficient?
I'd suggest using a notification feed for that, not a flat feed. Set the verb to 'like' or whatever is appropriate for your app, and the actor is the user who 'liked' the original activity. When you call the user's notification feed, you'll get a list of all users who liked it.
If you store the likes in your own database and send the like to us with a foreign ID then you can always remove the activity later if they 'un-like' something afterward.

Wants to save Instagram post and comments on post to our domain, is it possible and if possible how?

I have a domain which have a feature to login with instagram a/c, registered users associate their instagram a/c using this process.
Now i want to store/save all post and comments of users they have posted on instagram a/c.
So that i can perform a search on comments and caption of posts.
As fas as my knowledge its not possible by using instagram api thats why i am saving info in my database.
Is there any simple way to perform search ?
Any help will be appreciated.
Thanks
Instagram only gives you 150 latest comments via API, so if you want to search through all comments, you have fetch comments at regular interval and save on server, searching these comments are straight forward, look for substring in the comment items saved. It is kind of tricky on deciding how often you want to check for comments and store, usually mosts comments are posted few minutes after a popular photo is posted. If you do the checks too often, you may reach the API rate limit.
https://api.instagram.com/v1/media/{media-id}/comments?access_token=ACCESS-TOKEN
If you are dealing with less than 150 comments on average, then you can search through it without needing to save on server and can be done all on client side. Just pull the comments using API and do search through the array of comments using javascript.
Picodash allows you to view the latest 150 comments and search any keyword or user, here is screenshot:
I have developed library in php: https://github.com/raiym/instagram-php-scraper
It allows you to get ALL comments from specific post (I have tested with 8 000 comments)
$comments = Instagram::getMediaCommentsByCode('BGY0zB4r7X2', 1500);

Tumblr.js official javascript/node API "link" posts with image, title, body

I'd like to be able to post link posts on a blog exactly the same way as if you were to go on the regular user interface and choose a "link" post and paste in a URL. It automatically grabs the image, sizes it, sets the title and a body/caption.
How do I go about doing this with the tumblr.js api wrapper?
I already have the API working so I do not need to know how to connect/post link articles. I am specifically interested in being able to add link posts that look/work exactly like the link posts you make as a regular user on their web interface. Using the API to do a link post just throws in the title. Using a photo post doesn't allow you to do a separate title/body. I'd love it to look like it does on the website when you paste in a link post and have the tumblr api/feed return it the same way too.
I got a response via github issues that explains that what I was attempting to accomplish is not available via the API. It can only be done using a tumblr client.
