Trying to upload txt file as attachment to workitems in TFS but I get this:
"Unable to determine source control server."
I tried tf workspaces collection:"http..." and it gives me a list of workspaces but doesn't do anything.
Upload command was typed like this:
tfpt workitem /uploadattachment 1234 fileName.txt
Interesting, downloadattachment works, and changing title works, just uploadattachment doesn't.
any advices??
Specify the /collection:uri option.

I just download the latest 2011.1, and try to use "ant extgen" command to create a default extennsion, but meet following error:
Would anyone know how to deal with it?
extgen.xml:293: The following error occurred while executing this line:
extgen.xml:35: Source directory '${ext.develop.path}' for template 'training' does not exist.
Just run it again and it should work the second time.
There does seem to be a bug in the build scripts that has probably been there a while. I assume that ant extgen was the first thing you ran after unpacking. There is no config folder so the build script did this:
[input] No config folder was found at /path/to/hybris/config.
[input] Please choose the configuration template.
[input] Press [Enter] to use the default value ([develop], production)
and you chose develop
Unfortunately it stores your choice in a variable input.template which is the same name as used when later on the script asks you what extension template you want to base yours on. So the script sees that the variable already has a value and doesn't ask you:
[input] Please choose a template for generation.
[input] Press [Enter] to use the default value (commercewebservices, commercewebservicestests, yacceleratorfulfilmentprocess, yacceleratormarketplaceintegration, yacceleratorordermanagement, yacceleratorstorefront, yaddon, ybackoffice, ycommercewebservices, ycommercewebservicestest, ydocumentcart, [yempty], yhacext, yocc, yoccaddon, yocctests, ysapproductconfigaddon, ysmarteditmodule, yvoid, ywebservices)
It then tries to find a template extension develop and fails.
Running it the second time means your config folder is already generated and it correctly asks you which extension you want to base your extension on.
I am trying to run a model in GAMS (using the Windows GAMS 64, version 24.5). The model .gms file is located on a Z drive that is mapped to a SharePoint folder. We use this setup all the time with other programming languages without problem. But when I try to run or save my model, I get the following error:
Unable to save file:
Z:\[my file path]\mymodel.gms
Error 123: The filename, directory name, or volume label syntax is incorrect
When I try to run the file, I also get the following message in the process window:
*** Error: Error writing GAMSNext: Invalid argument
Exit code = 113
SharePoint is really useful in tracking versions and letting the teams collaborate using a tool they are already familiar with (and our IT dept will not let us install git or similar). So I'd like to figure out how to get this to work, if possible, and why it is only a problem in GAMS.
Any insights? In particular, anyone know what the GAMSNext file that GAMS seems to be trying to write is? Also, why is GAMS perfectly able to save files to SharePoint when I create my project file (the .gpr file was, in fact, saved just fine), but not when I try to save a change to my .gms file? What is the difference in the GAMS save process for a .gms file and a .gpr file?
I have seen this issue before - GAMS not running a file on a network path/drive and give a 'UNC path error' or so.
If I recall, the issue was solved when we took the project file out of the "My Documents" folder. If it is a shared drive created for windows, you may have a "My Documents" folder which has a path with "Documents". Create your GAMS folder from the root and create your .gpj and .gms files there.
Hope this helps.
After installing CodeCollab on OS X 10.6, I get Error: Unable to run ccollabgui when I try to add a new code review from P4V.
Strange but google was not able to find any match for the search :(
I you receive this error just go to p4v Tools->Manage Custom Tools and select Code Collaborator - Add to Review->Edit.
Now change the application from ccollabgui to /Applications/ccollab_client/ccollabgui.app/Contents/MacOS/JavaApplicationStub.
I received this error because I installed by ccollab in a non-standard location (not /Applications/ccollab_client)
[remove any already installed ccollab p4 custom tools if installed]
To fix, in p4v Tools|Manage Custom Tools|Select "SmartBear - Add to Review". Click edit. In the edit box called "Application", adjust the path to the correct path for your install.
My issue had something to do with perforce. I updated Code Collaborator to a newer version and it installed the Add to Review tool in perforce. When I tried to run it I got the error above.
When I looked at the old tool that had previously been added I noticed one difference. The Arguments had --p4 /usr/local/bin/p4 while the newer one didn't. When I added this it worked fine.
To fix, in p4v Tools|Manage Custom Tools|Select "SmartBear - Add to Review".
Click edit.
In the edit box called "Application" point to proper like below:
/Applications/ccollab_client/ccollabgui.app/Contents/MacOS/JavaApplicationStub
In the edit box called "Arguments" point to proper like below:
--p4 /usr/local/bin/p4 --pause-on-error --scm perforce --p4port $p --p4user $u --p4client "emptyArgumentPrefix $c emptyArgumentSuffix" addchangelist ask %C
I'm new to Perforce, and it is not going well at all. But currently, I am completely stuck, as all I can get it to say is:
$ p4 open a_code_file.cpp
Locked client 'my_hostname' can only be used by owner 'perforce'.
I have absolutely no idea what I did to upset it, and the error message itself is meaningless gibberish to me. "perforce" doesn't own anything - all the files are owned by me. I am in a Perforce repository, ie, there's a .p4rc a few directories up.
Edit: It only seems to be some files. If I:
$ cd some_other_directory_in_the_repo
$ p4 open a_file
... it works. So it's only some things...
The "locked client" error suggests that p4 is trying to use a client workspace, named after your hostname, owned by the user perforce. If Perforce can't find a valid client name, either in the registry (on Windows), environment variables, or in an environment file, it'll default to using a client workspace named after your hostname.
It sounds like Perforce can't find a valid client workspace for your "broken" directory, and finds one for your "working" directory.
Since you have one directory that works, and one directory that doesn't, can you try:
$ p4 set
from both directories, and compare the results? If Perforce can find a valid client, you'll see something like:
P4CLIENT=XXXX (config)
(the "(config)" means Perforce is getting that configuration variable from a configuration file. Consult p4 help set for more information on the various ways you can set variables.)
Look also for a line like:
P4CONFIG=.p4env
which is what Perforce will use to search for your workspace configuration. If you're using a file named .p4rc, that's what P4CONFIG should be set to.
I ran into this when I was distracted and forgot to export my P4CLIENT variable, i.e.:
P4CLIENT=XXXXX
Instead of:
export P4CLIENT=XXXXX
When I download my program from my website to my windows 2003 machine, it has a block on it and you have to right click on the exe, then properties, then select the button "Unblock".
I would like to add detection in my installer for when the file is blocked and hence doesn't have enough permissions.
But I can't eaisly reproduce getting my exe in this state where it needs to be unblocked.
How can I get the unblock to appear on my exe so I can test this functionality?
This is done using NTFS File Streams. There is a stream named "Zone.Identifier" added to downloaded files. When IE7 downloads certain types of file that stream contains:
[ZoneTransfer]
ZoneId=3
The simplest way to set it is to create a text file with those contents in it, and use more to add it to the alternate stream.
Zone.Identifier.txt:
[ZoneTransfer]
ZoneId=3
Command:
more Zone.Identifier.txt > file.exe:Zone.Identifier
Then, the way for you to check it would be to try to open the Zone.Identifier stream and look for ZoneId=3, or simply assume that if the stream exists at all that your user will receive that warning.
It's also important to note that this has nothing to do with permissions. Administrators see the same warning; it's to do entirely with the source and type of file. The entire stream goes away when users uncheck the "Always ask before opening this file" box and then click Run.
There is a supported API for this, documented on MSDN. Search on MSDN for "Persistent Zone Identifier Object". Basically you CoCreateInstance with CLSID_PersistentZoneIdentifier and request an IPersistFile interface. You then call IPersistFile::Load with the name of the file in question. Next, QI for an IZoneIdentifier interface and use IZoneIdentifier::GetId to obtain the zone of the file. If there was no "mark of the web", you should get URLZONE_LOCAL_MACHINE. The ZoneId of 3 mentioned in the other reply is URLZONE_INTERNET. (The enumeration is called URLZONE and is also documented on MSDN, or see sdk\inc\urlmon.h.) You can remove or change the "mark of the web" by calling IZoneIdentifier::Remove or IZoneIdentifier::SetId and then call IPersistFile::Save. There are more details about all of this on MSDN. Good luck!
Thanks for this it helped me a lot.
You can make the process even easier if you create a batch file with the contents.
echo [ZoneTransfer] > Zone.Identifier
echo ZoneId=3 >> Zone.Identifier
more Zone.Identifier > %1:Zone.Identifier
This will generate the Zone.Identifier for you and mark the file accordingly.
To run it just supply the file name e.g. if the file is called mark.bat
mark.bat myfile.txt
