I have on Linux/KDE a installed version of eclipse Mars.2. But there are strong problems with colors. So there is no different between a activated toolbar button and a inactive toolbar button. At example the "Link with editor" button of the "Project Explorer" view has exactly the same background color if the button is selected or not:
Another thing is that I cannot see if a checkbox or radio button is selected or not. It seems that the foreground color for the check/radio box selections is also identical to the background color. So there is in many configuration views no way to find out what's currently selected and wath's not. In the next screenshot at least one of the "Open mode" radio button must be selected (I assume it's "Double click" button):
Note also that the colors are only in eclipse wrong. In other (native) KDE applications I don't have these effects (at example the foreground of check boxes/radio buttons are black - like I have it expected). Also play around with the color settings in KDE "Application Appearance" has no effects ...
How can I change the colors of these stuff?
There is an Eclipse plugin that helps you import downloaded themes from the online marketplace (themes are free).

Ok. Found the solution for my problem on following site:

Mars is the first eclipse version which uses GTK3 (instead of GTK2 like eclipse versions before 4.5). And on the side above Andrey Loskutov wrotes that may be also the GTK theme (widget style) can be also the problem. The Widget style "oxygen-gtk" should be extremly buggy! After changing the widget style (to now "Adwaida") the problems are gone :-)
You can change the Widget style in KDE by opening in the KDE settings: "Application Appearance" and "GTK+ Appearance".

Goal: I'm using a VS extension called "ClaudiaIDE" that enables you to set an image as a background to Visual Studio 2019. I set the background to a wood grain wallpaper (it looks amazing). It makes the code editor background and main window background transparent so you can see the image, but not anything else. I then started using Color Theme Editor to add transparency to other sections of the VS IDE so it's mostly showing the background image. I want the right side windows (like solution explorer) to be transparent as well.
Two stackoverflow answers say the color value is stored under "treeview". I changed the "treeview" background using the wizard but it made no difference (despite other SO comments saying it worked). Likely due to the old answers being for VS 2017 or earlier.
I then changed the "treeview" color manually in the CustomTheme.vstheme file and I successfully made the grey color transparent, but now there is an absolute black blackground, which was perhaps there to give a shadow effect. The code I edited is below (The opacity is intentional):

I searched for every reference of "#FF000000" and for testing made them all fully transparent: "#00000000". This made no difference, solution explorer retained its "#FF000000" (by observation only, I don't know where the code is). I know the hex is right because I copied a screenshot into paint.net and grabbed the color.
I then changed my Microsoft Windows settings so that it didn't use the dark background, in case it was applying that to the VS windows. No change.
If anyone has any ideas on how to access the black underlying background for windows like "solution explorer" i would greatly appreciate it. It must be getting that value from somewhere.

In Android Studio, we have color picker when developing in Java/Kotlin (natively) like this.
But while developing for Flutter, I can't see any options to pick my own color. Is there some plugin required to do that?
The color picker is not clickable in Android Studio running Flutter( Dart code), see picture below. But i found a work around using the Color class and manually opening color picker. Then pick a color and copy/paste it like this:
Here is how i do it:
1. Double tap shift to run search
2. Type Color or Picker
3. Open Color Picker from the search list
4. Copy/paste the HEX color code into your color class.
Expert tip:
Add color picker to a keyboard shortcut. You can find the settings for Keymap, under File > Settings > Keymap
You must have heard of the materials.io website from google, which provides many materials like designs, icons, tools, resources and components for easy developing. Now Color Tool is also available. You must add the website to your browsers shortcut if you are a developer. Another way I found is :
Type 'Colors.' and press control+space to see the available colors.
Select the color using arrow or mouse.
Press control+Q for the quick documentation.
And on the documentation windows, click on the edit button which opens the
'colors.dart' file.
Here all the colors with all shades are available. These shortcuts are for windows.
Once you open the file, you can always come back here to chose the next shade. But will not be the comfortable method like android project.
Hope a easier way to do this will come with the later update.
With a dark theme chosen, the "run" pane (not the python "console" nor the "terminal" accessible within PyCharm) shows a very dark font such that it can barely be seen. Switching to a light theme, all is well. I've found help (within Pycharm, here, Google, and YouTube) on setting the font colors for the editor, console, and terminal panes, but not a thing on changing the run-pane colors. Any ideas?
I usually just use native Editor settings in the Preferences.
So you can try going into the :
Preferences > Editor > Color Scheme > Console Colors
click on Console Colors and use the menu on the right
Console > Backgroud > select prefered color
Click Apply to test the color
Click OK to save changes

Your shown tabs are hard to distinguish because in Darcula theme, the test class background is unfortunatelly very hard to distinguish from non selected test tabs. You can see, that you can distinguish MainActivity.java just fine.

if i use a dark theme then links in Eclipse-"quick fix" or in i.e. Eclipse->Preferences->General->Editor (the three 'see... "File Associaton"|"Content Types"|"Appearance"'-links) are unreadable.

I found a solution for Windows/XP:
The hover uses the same colors as the on your system. On Windows you
can change that via Display settings > Appearance > Advanced: ToolTip.
The link color is the one used in your browser (IE on Windows).
However, i need a solution for Linux (XFCE 4.8.1/GTK)
I checked/tested all settings of Eclipse and i found no setting for this link-color. It seems to be a system-setting (GTK), so i already tried to add this to gtkrc:

but this did not change the link color in Eclipse.

I'll chime in here, since I have the same issue.
There is no fix for this, when running Eclipse on Unix (KDE, Gnome, etc).
The color for links, which is used in the QuickFix list as well as various other places in the UI (such as Preferences panels), is hardcoded.
On Windows, you are luckier, since Eclipse uses the native link widget, which takes its colors from system settings.
On non-Windows, you are stuck with a dark-blue hardcoded color.
What it should do, at least on GTK, is use the GtkWidget::link-color setting. But it doesn't, currently.
