Delete blob in azure after certain time - azure

Is it possible to make a blob be able to auto delete after a certain time?
I need to delete my blobs after few hours they were uploaded to azure, I don't need store them more than 10 days.

Not at this time, unfortunately. Using Webjobs or something similar this is something that could be accomplished on top of Azure Storage, but there is nothing offered from the platform itself.

The lifecycle management policy lets you:
Transition blobs to a cooler storage tier (hot to cool, hot to archive, or cool to archive) to optimize for performance and cost
Delete blobs at the end of their lifecycles
Define rules to be run once per day at the storage account level Apply rules to containers or a subset of blobs (using prefixes as filters)

In short, it is NOT POSSIBLE to make a blob auto-delete after a certain time by any setting/configuration on the blob itself in Azure at this time.
You will need to rely on other services such as Azure WebJobs or Azure Automation to automate such task.

Azure App Service app service logs blob retention not working

I have configured my azure app service app service logs settings as above image attached.
As expected the logs are stored in Azure Blob storage but it is not deleting the log files even after retention period is completed.
Any solution will be helpful

Based on this MS Doc. It is possible with Azure blob storage lifecycle policy
Transition blobs from cool to hot immediately when they are accessed, to optimize for performance.
Transition blobs, blob versions, and blob snapshots to a cooler storage tier if these objects have not been accessed or modified for a
period of time, to optimize for cost. In this scenario, the lifecycle
management policy can move objects from hot to cool, from hot to
archive, or from cool to archive.
Delete blobs, blob versions, and blob snapshots at the end of their lifecycles.
Define rules to be run once per day at the storage account level.
Apply rules to containers or to a subset of blobs, using name prefixes or blob index
tags
as filters.
APPROACH-2: We can use Azure logic app to delete files older than X number of days from Azure Blob Storage .

Can I use azure function app storage account for other purposes like storing files in blob storage? If yes will it according to Microsoft guidelines and also will it cause any performance issue? Specially when size of blob storage get increased to GBs?
I am near to production, so please come up with any suggestions, best practices, solutions as soon as possible.

Yes, you can.

It depends. Each Azure Storage account has some pre-defined throughput limits. As long as you stay within those limits, you should be fine.
Having said this, ideally you should have a separate storage account. Considering creation of storage account doesn't cost you anything till the time you do some transactions in it, you may be better off creating a separate account to store data required by your application.

Azure Blob storage lifecycle management

I am currently using Azure Blobs to store data for a project. I want Azure to automatically delete old entries (data points) which are older then X number of days. I have found the following documentation:

It essentially says that this can be done using lifecycle management and defining a new rule.
However, this documentation is over 6 months old and I cannot seem to find an option to select lifecycle management and define a new rule.
Has anyone else encountered this problem or know where I can access lifecycle management for an Azure Blob as of 2020?
Yes, this is a feature available today, I just confirmed on a storage account. You need to make sure you are using a V2 storage account, it will not be present on a v1, or blob only storage account.
I was experiencing the same issue, where the option for Life cycle management wasn't available but it was available on other storage accounts.
Check the performance/access tier. If it's set to Premium then its Life cycle management isn't available. Try creating a storage account with Standard.
If your using an arm template try Standard_RAGRS for the sku parameter.

Azure Blob Storage - automatically move to Archive storage tier

Is there a feature in Azure to move blobs in Hot/Cool tiers to Archive automatically if they haven't been used in a period of time?
For example, if I have a blob stored in Archive, I access it by rehydrating it to Hot/Cool. Once I am done, is there a way Azure can automatically downtier it?
Moving to another tier not accessed blobs is possible using native functionality but for the moment this is limited to France Central, Canada East, and Canada Central as the feature is in preview.
In order to use the Last accessed option, select Access tracking enabled on the Lifecycle Management page in the Azure portal.
And then define a rule based on the Last accessed

This is now generally available as of 2019 from Microsoft. Now you can -
Automatically change the blob tier after N days.
Automatically remove the blob after N days.
Azure Blob lifecycle management overview
All tier changes must be performed by you; there is no automatic tier-change method built-in. You'll need to make a specific call to set the tier for each tier change (note - I pointed to the REST API, but various language-specific SDKs wrap the call as well).

The question pertains to blob TTL, but tiering policies will also be possible with both the workaround and ultimately using the policy framework.

Azure - Multiple Cloud Services, Single Storage Account

I want to create a couple of cloud services - Int, QA, and Prod. Each of these will connect to separate Db's.
Do these cloud services require "storage accounts"? Conceptually the cloud services have executables and they must be physically located somewhere.
Note: I do not use any blobs/queues/tables.
If so, must I create 3 separate storage accounts or link them up to one?
Storage accounts are more like storage namespaces - it has a url and a set of access keys. You can use storage from anywhere, whether from the cloud or not, from one cloud service or many.
As #sharptooth pointed out, you need storage for diagnostics with Cloud Services. Also for attached disks (Azure Drives for cloud services), deployments themselves (storing the cloud service package and configuration).
Storage accounts are free: That is, create a bunch, and still only pay for consumption.
There are some objective reasons why you'd go with separate storage accounts:
You feel that you could exceed the 20,000 transaction/second advertised limit of a single storage account (remember that storage diagnostics are using some of this transaction rate, which is impacted by your logging-aggressiveness).
You are concerned about security/isolation. You may want your dev and QA folks using an entirely different subscription altogether, with their own storage accounts, to avoid any risk of damaging a production deployment
You feel that you'll exceed 200TB 500TB (the limit of a single storage account)
Azure Diagnostics uses Azure Table Storage under the hood (and it's more convenient to use one storage account for every service, but it's not required). Other dependencies your service has might also use some of the Azure Storage services. If you're sure that you don't need Azure Storage (and so you don't need persistent storage of data dumped through Azure Diagnostics) - okay, you can go without it.
The service package of your service will be stored and managed by Azure infrastructure - that part doesn't require a storage account.
