I'm getting the following exception when using AutoMapper:
AutoMapper.AutoMapperMappingException was unhandled by user code
HResult=-2146233088
Message=Missing type map configuration or unsupported mapping.
The two models are:
OperationSpecification
DayofTheWeek (enum)
OpenTime (string)
CloseTime (string)
OperationalScheduling
DayofTheWeek (enum)
OpenTime (string)
CloseTime (string)
Both models have the same properties (spelled the same and in the same case)
Upon the start of the project I have a class that is called and defines all the mappings.
Mapper.CreateMap<OperationSpecification, OperationalScheduling>();
I verified the AutoMapper maps by using
var stuff = Mapper.GetAllTypeMaps();
Putting a watch on "stuff" verifies there is a "OperationSpecification" -> "OperationalScheduling" map.
When I run the following line:
Mapper.Map<OperationSpecification, OperationalScheduling>(anObject);
I get the above error. If I look into the error details I see the following:
Context: Trying to map OperationSpecification to DayType (an enum in the project)
SourceType: Name = "OperationSpecification"
DestinationType: Name = "DayType"
There is no mapping of this type specified in the Mapper.GetAllTypeMaps() method.
I ran Mapper.AssertConfigurationIsValid() and confirmed the mapping.
This shifting of maps is also occurring with other mappings and objects in the project. My coworker also has the same issue. We've tried rebuilding and deleting and fetching the project from Visual Studio Online without any positive results.
Any thoughts as to what we can do to resolve this?
Many thanks!

What should one do with this?
protected List<BasePropCont> getChildren( boolean updCacheOn = false,
Entry< List, Iterable > _subIterEntry = null )
{
return null
// orig code removed since it seems not to matter
}
show the following as an error:
Groovy:A transform used a generics containing ClassNode
Entry <List, Iterable>
for the method
protected java.util.List getChildren(boolean updCacheOn, Entry _subIterEntry) { ... }
directly.
You are not supposed to do this. Please create a new ClassNode referring to the old
ClassNode and use the new ClassNode instead of the old one.
Otherwise the compiler will create wrong descriptors and a potential
NullPointerException in TypeResolver in the OpenJDK.
If this is not your own doing, please report this bug to the writer of the transform.
hah ... the solution was to watch the auto-handled imports with the editors Save Action. Somehow the Plugin removed some imports (maybe in a state where there were compile errors present while coding) and among them was
import java.util.Map.Entry
:-/
Manually adding it solves it.
Had similiar problems with other "disappearing" imports already.
(The actual cause for this strange error may be some (of many found) Entry classes from the default Groovy imports or within the scope)
I have a custom view called IconView, which has the following constructor for initialization:
public class IconView extends RelativeLayout implements Checkable {
...
public IconView(Context context, AttributeSet attrs, boolean useDefaultImage) {
super(context, attrs);
inflateLayout(context);
...
In order to initialize AttributeSet instance from XMLfor constructing the view, I use getResources().getXml(R.layout.icon_view), false);.
This compiles successfully and runs correctly. However, Android studio highlights the code and displays me this error:
The detailed description of the error is here:
Expected resource of type xml less... (Ctrl+F1)
Reports two types of problems:
Supplying the wrong type of resource identifier. For example, when
calling Resources.getString(int id), you should be passing
R.string.something, not R.drawable.something.
Passing the wrong
constant to a method which expects one of a specific set of
constants. For example, when calling View#setLayoutDirection, the
parameter must be android.view.View.LAYOUT_DIRECTION_LTR or
android.view.View.LAYOUT_DIRECTION_RTL.
The question:
Although the code works, I do not know, how to rewrite it, so that the error would disappear in Android Studio. The error is visually annoying, so how could I get rid of it?
Resources#getXml(int id) is used to get the resource of type xml, which lays inside the xml resource folder. You, on the other hand, passing R.layout.icon_view here, the layout resource.
Use getResources().getLayout(R.layout.icon_view) here and the error will disappear.
P.S.: the documentation on Resources#getLayout() says the following:
This function is really a simple wrapper for calling getXml(int) with a layout resource.
So it looks like this is some kind of lint-related issue. Either way, getLayout() does not result in this error.
After spending a year working with the Microsoft.Xrm.Sdk namespace, I just discovered yesterday the Entity.FormattedValues property contains the text value for Entity specific (ie Local) Option Set texts.
The reason I didn't discover it before, is there is no early bound method of getting the value. i.e. entity.new_myOptionSet is of type OptionSetValue which only contains the int value. You have to call entity.FormattedValues["new_myoptionset"] to get the string text value of the OptionSetValue.
Therefore, I'd like to get the crmsrvcutil to auto-generate a text property for local option sets. i.e. Along with Entity.new_myOptionSet being generated as it currently does, Entity.new_myOptionSetText would be generated as well.
I've looked into the Microsoft.Crm.Services.Utility.ICodeGenerationService, but that looks like it is mostly for specifying what CodeGenerationType something should be...
Is there a way supported way using CrmServiceUtil to add these properties, or am I better off writing a custom app that I can run that can generate these properties as a partial class to the auto-generated ones?
Edit - Example of the code that I would like to be generated
Currently, whenever I need to access the text value of a OptionSetValue, I use this code:
var textValue = OptionSetCache.GetText(service, entity, e => e.New_MyOptionSet);
The option set cache will use the entity.LogicalName, and the property expression to determine the name of the option set that I'm asking for. It will then query the SDK using the RetrieveAttriubteRequest, to get a list of the option set int and text values, which it then caches so it doesn't have to hit CRM again. It then looks up the int value of the New_MyOptionSet of the entity and cross references it with the cached list, to get the text value of the OptionSet.
Instead of doing all of that, I can just do this (assuming that the entity has been retrieved from the server, and not just populated client side):
var textValue = entity.FormattedValues["new_myoptionset"];
but the "new_myoptionset" is no longer early bound. I would like the early bound entity classes that gets generated to also generate an extra "Text" property for OptionSetValue properties that calls the above line, so my entity would have this added to it:
public string New_MyOptionSetText {
return this.GetFormattedAttributeValue("new_myoptionset"); // this is a protected method on the Entity class itself...
}
Could you utilize the CrmServiceUtil extension that will generate enums for your OptionSets and then add your new_myOptionSetText property to a partial class that compares the int value to the enums and returns the enum string
Again, I think specifically for this case, getting CrmSvcUtil.exe to generate the code you want is a great idea, but more generally, you can access the property name via reflection using an approach similar to the accepted answer # workarounds for nameof() operator in C#: typesafe databinding.
var textValue = entity.FormattedValues["new_myoptionset"];
// becomes
var textValue = entity.FormattedValues
[
// renamed the class from Nameof to NameOf
NameOf(Xrm.MyEntity).Property(x => x.new_MyOptionSet).ToLower()
];
The latest version of the CRM Early Bound Generator includes a Fields struct that that contains the field names. This allows accessing the FormattedValues to be as simple as this:
var textValue = entity.FormattedValues[MyEntity.Fields.new_MyOptionSet];
You could create a new property via an interface for the CrmSvcUtil, but that's a lot of work for a fairly simple call, and I don't think it justifies creating additional properties.
I have an EDMX model with a generated context.
Now i generated a Self Tracking Entities library is separate project and referenced this from the EDMX model.
Also set the correct namespace in the context to the same namespace as the entities.
Now working with this all works except when i try to create a WCF data service with this context.
So just create new ObjectContext and working with it directly works fine.
But having referenced the context + model lib and the entities lib i get the following error when loading the service
The server encountered an error processing the request. The exception message is 'Value cannot be null. Parameter name: key'. See server logs for more details. The exception stack trace is:
Now i found that this could happen when using data service with external entity lib and fix was overriding the createcontext
with code
Collapse
System.Data.Metadata.Edm.ItemCollection itemCollection;
if (!context.MetadataWorkspace.TryGetItemCollection
(System.Data.Metadata.Edm.DataSpace.CSSpace, out itemCollection))
{
var tracestring = context.CreateQuery<ClientDataStoreContainer>("ClientDataStoreContainer.DataSet").ToTraceString();
}
return context;
Now the error is gone but i get the next one and that is:
Object mapping could not be found for Type with identity 'ClientDataStoreEntities.Data'.
This error occurs on the .toTraceString in the createcontext
the ssdl file has the defined type
Collapse
<EntitySetMapping Name="DataSet">
<EntityTypeMapping TypeName="IsTypeOf(ClientDataStoreEntities.Data)">
So it has to load the ClientDataStoreEntities.Data type which is the namespace and type of the STE library that i have generated from the model.
EDIT: with
var tracestring = context.CreateQuery<Data>("ClientDataStoreContainer.DataSet").ToTraceString();
It does seem to load all types , however now the service does not have any methods that i can call.
there should be 2 DataSet and PublishedDataSet but:
<service xml:base="http://localhost:1377/WcfDataService1.svc/">
−
<workspace>
<atom:title>Default</atom:title>
</workspace>
</service>
is what i get.
I ran into the same issue (the first one you mention). I have worked around using the suggestion by Julie Lerman in this thread. The other suggestion didn't work for me although I will experiment with them more since Julie's solution may have performance implications since it's executed (and has some cost) for every query.
MSDN Fail to work with POCO ModelContainer which entities are located in other assembly
Edit: Sorry, just realized you utilized the other solution mentioned in this thread.
I'm getting an error while trying to load an record through the constructor.
The constructor is:
public Document(Expression<Func<Document,bool>> expression);
and i try to load a single item in like this
var x = new Document(f=>f.publicationnumber=="xxx");
publicationnumber isn't a key but tried making an it an unique key and still no go..
Am i totally wrong regarding the use of the constructor? and can someone please tell me how to use that constructor?
The error i'm getting is:
Test method TestProject1.UnitTest1.ParseFileNameTwoProductSingleLanguage threw exception: System.NullReferenceException:
with the following stacktrace:
SubSonic.Query.SqlQuery.Where[T](Expression1` expression)
Load`[T]`(T item, Expression1expression)
db.Document..ctor(Expression``1 expression) in C:\#Projects\DocumentsSearchAndAdmin\DocumentsSearchAndAdmin\Generated\ActiveRecord.cs: line 5613
rest removed for simplicity

Dennis
Use == instead of =, i.e.:
...(f=>f.publicationnumber == "xxx");
I've just gotten the SubSonic source, and found out that it had to with the expression parser and my lack of knowledge thereof .. my right side of the expression was actually an item in an string array - and s[PUBNO] (PUBNO is a const) and it was looking for an column named s instead of publicationnumber, i don't know if this i a bug or not in the linq classes
none the less - i've managed to get it to work by creating a local variable containing the value of s[PUBNO] and using that instead...
