I'm using SharePoint 2013 and some users, I'll repeat, only SOME of them can't open office files in their client application (word, excel...). I don't know what is the problem because I can open documents from my machine but when I log in to another machine (colleague that can't open documents) I'm also unable to open documents. So, problem is in machine. I tried:
removing office cache files
Adding SharePoint site to Trusted zone
Repairing office installation...
Nothing helps. Message after a longer period of "downloading": Sorry, we couldn't find . It is possible it was moved, renamed or deleted?
Sometimes there is an another message...
UPDATE:
Problem is solved by installing newest updates (from 5. December 2015. to 15. December 2015.). I'm not sure but probably this update solved problem:

Thanks everyone for support
Look at your installed Windows updates. If you have KB3055034, uninstall it and see if that helps - worked for us!
The solution we found that worked like a charm was deleting the counters.dat file out of the user's Temporary Internet Files. Please see the steps below:
Close all instances of IE and other browsers
Delete counters.dat file (location: \AppData\Local\Microsoft\Windows\Temporary Internet Files\ )
Reopen IE or other browser
This worked like a charm and has been a big help with other tough fixes like plugin issues.

Had my PC rebuilt due to a sign in issue with Azure. Ever since, I have been unable to sync a sharepoint site which is the main one I work in.
I go to the site contents folder online, select the main docuement library and click Sync on the top bar as shown below:
And every time, for this particular folder, I get this issue:
Other people are using and syncing this folder in exactly the same way without any problem. I can also sync any other folder without a problem, there is only this one important folder that seems impossible to sync. I can't create a new document library very easily as this will affect everyone. Any thoughts how to fix this?
Oh yeah and I've got the latest version of onedrive installed. In fact, when I click on that link, it takes me to an older version of onedrive which won't install as I've got a newer version.
Sometimes, the Microsoft Office Upload Center may affect the OneDrive for Business syncing with SharePoint library, it also may stop the SharePoint sync from progressing.
Try clearing cached files from Upload Center.
I'm running Windows 10 and I have Office 365. It's my personal PC, not using Active Directory.
When I'm trying to use OneDrive and when I open it, I get this error:
We cannot synchronize your documents anymore
I tried sfc /scannow, ccleaner and others tricks. No change at all.
I'm thinking it's due to Office 365 connected to my OneDrive PRO.
Anyone have any information about this issue?
I read the microsoft forum and many people face the same issue. One of the solution I came across is:
Hey everyone. I just found what might be the solution in another discussion thread on this same forum. It is suggested to Uninstall the new OneDrive for Business. You should see it in your Programs and Features control panel.

How can VBA help full, offline accessible documentation install into Microsoft Excel 2013?
I have tried to download this: https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=40326, but I cannot open help sections.
I have already tried to modify my installation, but cannot find any options related to this in setup.
Trick to open the file is double click the file. One pop-up as per image shown below will appear.
Please uncheck the tick mark ie remove it in the check-box Always Ask before opening the file. Then open it. It will be opened with its contents. HTH
Edit :
I am able to open these documents by trick adopted by me. Screen shots shown here.
After opening Excel Developer Help File I am getting the index on the left side and selected page opened on the right side which can be fully navigated. Please let me know what you are looking for. Apart from this There is an opening page where references to web url's are presented.
In a connected world security updates are a fact of life for a Long time. Microsoft have done a mighty job of securing Windows starting with XP SP2 released in Aug 2004. Since then a string of updates have reduced the humble CHM to the status of a humble local help system. It's a shame but we have had to move on.
Please note and make sure downloading your CHM's to a local drive!
Because files downloaded off the Internet - including ZIP files and CHM files contained in those zip files - are marked as as coming from the Internet and so can potentially be malicious, so do not get browsing rights on the local machine.
A explicitly 'unblock' of your downloaded CHM file may solve your problem. Please try in Windows Explorer and in a local drive (!) before going the next installation steps for Office 2013:
Open Windows Explorer and navigate to your download folder
Find your CHM file
Right click and select Properties
Click the Unblock button on the General tab
Here's what the dialog looks like:
I remember (not sure) the Unblock button may appear in NTFS filesystems only.
I had two clients with a save issue in SharePoint.
When they try to save they would get a a very generic error: "Document Could not be saved"
The only way they could get them into SharePoint was by:
Saving to local File System
Using the Upload option from the SharePoint menu
Configurations
Client 1: Vista and Office 2007
Client 2: XP and Office 2003
I was able to fix client 1 by having him Map a Network Drive to the Sharepoint Site.
After mapping the network drive, somehow the OS magically knew about the SharePoint documents folder and he was able to save.
I'm not having the same luck with Client 2.
It won't even let me map the network drive. I get an error (one that I did not take a screenshot of and don't remember the exact wording...sorry). but it was an error trying to map the network drive to the SharePoint site.
So, after some Googling, I had him go to Windows Update and download all the latest patches for his OS.
He claims he did, but is still getting the problem.
Before I do another WebEx and start taking stabs in the dark to try and fix him, I was wondering if any veteran SharePoint users have run into this same issue and what they did to fix.
Or, is there some OS setting I should be looking at that needs to be toggled/modified.
I can access his SharePoint site just fine from several PCs and make modifications and save as necessary.
Did you try running the Microsoft Office Diagnostics?
Start --> Microsoft Office --> Microsoft Office Tools --> Microsoft Office Diagnostics
Let that scan and repair any issues it finds and see if that helps. That tool has fixed similar issues for me many times.
can someone please tell me what i need so that i can see the explorer view for a library in sharepoint? it works on one machine and not another. it sometimes works on a vista client but not xp. it works in internet explorer but does not work on another machine with the same settings.
please help. wss 3.0 on windows server 2008 with vista and xp clients.
Thanks
It requires WebDav to be enabled on the server part, and WebClient to be running at the client. WebClient is just a service, see this technet entry for specific information on how to start it.
If WebClient is already running, make sure the SharePoint site is added to the "Trusted Sites" in IE. In Vista SP1 and up, the WebClient has a private list of "Trusted Sites" in the registry.
SharePoint explorer view actually doesn't work in IE8 on Windows XP SP3. The issue only occurs if your using SSL, and I've not seen a good solution to make this work. Interestingly, it works fine in IE7. Now if your using any other web browser besides IE, there is no way to get explorer view to work currently.
Also, the 64bit version of IE is a Level 2 browser with SharePoint 2007, so certain features don't work on that either. I think the explorer view is one of them, but my memory could be wrong. Microsoft has published what currently does and does not work between different browsers on SharePoint.
Make sure you have a site collection located at your web application root. This solved the problem in my case.
Problem : explorer view not working properly, except when :
explorer view selected in a subfolder of the document library
a network favorite pointing to the document library was created
I was trying to do a quick backup of a bunch of files, and the explorer view was not working. What finally worked was mapping a network drive to the sharepoint server, and then I was able to bulk copy and paste the folders/files to my backup server.
I don't know why MS makes so many things really difficult. But they do. But that worked for me.
