Livecode 7.0.5 Stack Script Editor Hangs - livecode

I've just started using Livecode 7.0.5 (I was on 6.7.1 for a long time) and I can't get the script editor to work with the stack script. When I open a card script I can edit the script (save etc) but when I try to open the stack script Livecode becomes non-responsive (beachball of death). None of the code is displayed - just the heading; "revNewScriptEditor 1" and the name of the stack.
The stack is quite significant (over 30,000 lines of code). I don't have any problems compiling and saving an executable for iOS7 although it did take a long time (2-3 mins).
Has anyone else experienced this? Any suggestions?

Compiling pascal program in Visual Studio Code for Linux

Recently, I switched my OS to Ubuntu. I just started with collage and I have to learn pascal for my finals. But a problem occurred.
I installed Visual Studio Code and Pascal extension for it, but I am unable to run even a simple Hello World code. I wrote code, it saved automatically as .pas, but when I enter debug & run option in VSC it displays a message that says 'Open a file which can be debugged or run.', followed by 'debug' and 'run' buttons that I am unable to click and another message that says 'To further configure Debug and Run create a launch.json file.'
I am not even sure am I supposed to post questions such as this one on stackoverflow, but I sincerelly hope that someone could give me a hint on what to do. Solve this within Visual Studio Code or switch to another IDE (and which one would you recommend for Linux user) and pretend that nothing happened?

I know this isn't an answer to "how to debug with pascal with vscode" but, perhaps you would find it easier to just use FPC / Lazarus (IDE) to do your work. While it doesn't have a dark theme, contrary to popular belief, that's not necessary to program.
The IDE is feature packed and allows for full code completion, debugging, etc... (everything you really need to do the work for school).

Have you Installed Pascal extension which is available for code to smoothly run pascal code.
If you haven't then try installing this extension using,
Launch VS Code Quick Open (Ctrl+P), paste the following command, and press enter.
ext install alefragnani.pascal

I will direct you to the debugging page from the Visual Studio Code documentation that details how to use the debugger and configure a launch.json file. VSCode is a generic IDE so you need to give it some information about your project before it knows how to run the debugger. This is what launch.json is for.
If I could make a suggestion. When you're learning how to program, it's best to start with the basics. Write a small program in a text editor (VSCode is fine, or Vim, or Nano, or Notepad, or whatever). Save the file. Compile and run the program on the command line.
Once you put an IDE in the mix, you have to learn how to use that as well. If you're stuck on both parts, it can be hard to make progress. That said, it's good to learn how to use the IDE, and you should spend some time reading the documentation and working through some of the examples. It takes some time, but it will pay you back a thousand times when you can work more quickly.

webdriver for node.js: execute scripts locally without relinquishing mouse and keyboard control?

Intermittent Failures with webdriver.js
I am creating some webdriver.js* scripts to automate some time consuming test setup activities. However, when I run the script and do other things with my keyboard and mouse, I come back and find that, intermittently, a particular element cannot be found. And it's a different element each time.
When I run the same scripts and just watch them run, the scripts execute correctly.
Also, when I researched this potential problem, I came up with lots of stuff on using the mouse in webdriver scripts and problems with the click method itself but couldn't find anything to do with my issue. So I'm wondering whether I'm just doing something wrong here.
So What's The Question?
My question is: Is webdriver.js not meant to run like this? (that is, run locally while the keyboard and mouse are doing other things)?
Webdriver.py?
I don't remember having these problems when I used webdriver.py a few years back. iirc, I was able to run the scripts while the workstation was locked (via Win + L) though my memory isn't what it used to be ;)
I would use webdriver.py, however, no one else in our team knows python so I thought I would go webdriver.js since we all know javascript :)
Params: IE11, Windows 10.
* Also, when I say "webdriver.js", I mean the webdriver that is installed after following the steps here
I found that if I replaced the .click() calls with an equivalent .sendKeys() call (e.g. webdriver.Key.ENTER / webdriver.Key.SPACE) , this would get around the problem. I could even lock my workstation and the scripts would run without any problems.

Python IDLE GUI not starting

I feel like I have been coming the internet for days with absolutely no result.
I have taken some web programming classes, and would like to learn some python, just because programming is wicked interesting altogether, and have run into a fairly large hurdle given my experience.
the problem is this: Python.exe (or is is more properly pythonw.exe?) v3.3.3, running on windows 8.1 used to launch fine. Typed up a simple program to roll various sided die, worked out well. Then I changed the key bindings for 'Run Module' from 'ctrl+f5' to 'crtl+alt+spacebar.'
As soon as I did this IDLE crashed and so did the shell. Now the process will not run AT ALL. I cannot access it through the desktop icon to go back and revert the settings. I also attempted to look at the .def files and change it from there but could not find the 'run module' command. It looked like all the key bindings in the .def files were for the shell.
When I double click, nothing, when I run as admin, nothing. run from the start menu, nothing. I uninstalled and re-installed, rebooted, everything low tech I can think of. Now i'm out of my element and could use one of you brilliant social programmers!!
I've found information about checking with some tool called 'Windows Process Manager' some stuff about what to do with the CMD prompt (something about a path problem ...it intuitivly sounds like I very well could have created a 'path problem' but I'm not 100% I know what that is exactly).
I'm sorry for the lack of links, the pages were farther back in my browsing history than I expected. Hopefully i'm not asking an instant many down vote question here, most of the resources online are for either an older version of windows, Lunix, or an older version of python (which is actually where the path problem hint came from)

Find file HOME/.idlerc/config-keys.cfg, where on Win7 HOME would be 'C:/Users/yourloginname', and delete the key binding or, if there is nothing else in the file or nothing you want to keep, the whole file.
If you were to run Idle from a console with python -m idlelib, you would probably see an error message. (Yes, you were probably running with pythonw, as when using the start menu or icon. This works better in 3.4.2 and I am working or more improvements.)
I do not know the specific reason for your crash. I set Zoom-height to --space, restarted, and it works, no problem.

This is the code snippet, due to which the error occurs,

So, when I use m_pMainWnd->ShowWindow(SW_NORMAL); the prgoram runs without any error, the window opens in normal size and I can see the output, but when I do m_pMainWnd->ShowWindow(SW_MAX); even after the program runs without errors I cannot see the output window, also when I try to rebuild, VC throws an error saying
LINK : fatal error LNK1104: cannot open .exe
I have followed a few answers of this question as well, the first answer in this question suggests
You might have not closed the the output. Close the output, clean and rebuild the file. You might be able to run the file now.
which is quite correct but what I have to do is log off my computer and log in again in order to terminate the output process, I have to do this because I can neither find an application window that is open, nor I can see any program running in the Application's tab in 'Task Manager'. I even followed the second answer which says
You have to put Application Experience on Manual startup(you can do it by searching services in windows 7 start menu, and then find Application Experience and click properties).
except when I got there, I found the Application was already put on Manual Startup, and the problem still persists. Along with the solution what I want to know is why does the program not show output when I write m_pMainWnd->ShowWindow(SW_MAX);
If it helps I am using VC++ 6.0 and my OS is Windows-7 Professional 32-bit
SW_MAX is same as SW_FORCEMINIMIZE the documentation states that
Minimizes a window, even if the thread that owns the window is not
responding. This flag should only be used when minimizing windows from
a different thread.
It infact minimize the window and the application still run's in the task bar. I checked it in Win7 machine.
if your objective is to display the window in maximized state use SW_SHOWMAXIMIZED instead.
The VC++ 6.0 debugger does not work correctly under Windows 7 due to changes.
When you attempt to kill the process from the debugger, the process doesn't end correctly and gets stuck.

Non-blocking Dialog box in Applescript

I have to write a small script to deploy a patch for our Application. The patch
will replace a couple of files in the application.I decided to depploy the patch using Applescript. The files to be copied are quite large and it takes some time for the files to be copied. I wanted to know if there is any way I can get a dialog box which doesn't block the execution of the script so that I can display some message like Updating.. etc while the patch is applied and then close the dialog box after wards.

There's a scripting addition called Akua Sweets (oldy but goody) that has a display progress command. Get it at osaxen.com. it's in the 'most popular' section at the top of the page.

Oh, bugger, that's only for OS9. It was really useful back in the day, I remember using it a lot (of course everything took a lot longer in those days so progress bars were more in demand).

You got me inspired, there's a couple of scripts I use that need progress bars, so I went looking and found this scripting addition at http://osaxen.com/files/extrasuites1.1.html

here's a basic tutorial for how to do it in interface builder. I think that's probably the right way to do it.
I myself ran into the same problem. Unfortunately applescript doesn't provide an easy way of implementing a progress bar.
I ended up using the stop loop example found here to build an application. This guy has a bunch of applescript studio xcode projects to download and mess around with. It's some really great sample code if you aren't too familiar with applescript studio.
