This is MonoGame 3.4 and I'm using it through VS2013. I'm compiling my WAV file using mgcb the same way as my textures. MGCB works fine, but when it comes to playing a sound using SoundEffect class, it doesn't play anything. There is no exception and SoundEffect.Play() function returns true, but I can't hear anything. Here's my code:
Loading:
JumpSound = content.Load<SoundEffect>("SpinJump");
Playing:
var Ins = JumpSound.CreateInstance();
Ins.Volume = 1f;
Ins.Play();
The very same code plays the sound just fine in XNA project. Is this a known bug or something?
I had the exact same problem. My solution was to reinstall DirectX. For some reason this helped. I was running Windows 10 and VS 2015 Community Edition. I also had XNA installed where the same code was running just fine!
After reinstalling DirectX (https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=35&84e4d527-1a2f-c70a-8906-a877ec4baada=1) the SoundEffect class started working again!

I wrote a code like that:
var btn: Button = view.findViewById(R.id.btn)
view.findViewById(R.id.btn) is red underlined.
It's working fine but Android studio tolds me that it is mismatch type (Compiler expected View!). It had been working fine until i changed a profile from debug to release. Since that it show me errors.
And one more error which i recived is with:
view.findViewById<TextView>(R.id.user_name)
TextView is red underlined.
No type args expected for fun.
I belive that error s only becouse of android studio config. I can compile my code witout any problem, but android studio doesn't suggest me things like that.
Have you maybe any suggests ?

Might be an issue with what you are inheriting in your class.

I'm trying to get the PCL Visualizer demo examples to work (all code here: http://pointclouds.org/documentation/tutorials/pcl_visualizer.php) for Windows, PCL 1.6, 32 bits version.
It works fine except for the Interaction Customization part, which is ironically the one i'm most interested on. An unhandled exception occurs at the spinOnce(100) line on the main method. From the long search I've done, it looks like it is deeply connected to VTK not being thread safe and keyboard/mouse callbacks interfering with the VTK window. However, I don't think I've completely understood this and could be mistaken. I have found a very similar question here in stackoverflow (using "pcl::visualization" in different threads from different instance of a class) and I tried using scoped_locks around the spinonce, as he suggests, but I think I'm not doing it right.
Has anyone managed to fully use this example on win32? For reference, here is my poor attempt at locking the spinonce:

I am afraid that it may be related to the version of PCL.
Tutorials are made to match latest versions of PCL and since 1.6 things might have changed.
I recommend you to update to the latest PCL from github. (actually I use code from this tutorial on win64 right out of the box, no issues)
I've had to move my stuff from a failing hard drive, so I've had to set up and reinstall everything again. And I've run into a couple problems.
So I've got two errors here. The first error that I get is when I open flashdevelop to begin working. I get the error of:
Can't Find Haxelib.exe
And of course, I've installed haxe and haxelib and everything else that's needed pre-setup. However, when I run, the flash and html5 targets work fine regardless. I don't know why that error shows up. Any ideas?
My second problem is that I've installed the necessary stuff for the windows runtime. However, when I try to run the exe in or outside of flashdevelop, the program freezes and gives me the:
This program is not responding.
error that you sometimes see when you crash a program. However, I have my neko stuff set up and it compiles fine, it just crashes on start. I have the background set to neko. I have just a sample hello world FlxText object like this:
hello = new FlxText(0, 0, 100, "Hello World!");
#if neko
hello.color = 0xffffff;
#else
hello.color = 0xffffffff;
#end
add(hello);
Any idea what could be causing the start crashes? It also has me wondering if the two aren't related some how.

Using windows 8, haxe, haxeflixel, windows & neko runtimes.
I had this posted on another forum. The not responding error is fixed easily by adding:
<window allow-shaders="false"/>
In the projects xml file. The haxelib error still shows but it may be a non issue.
Things to try:
Make sure you use Haxe 3 and OpenFL (I think there is no sense of using Haxe 2 or NME).
Check if Haxe on PATH is Haxe 3 and check that OpenFL work fine. (Just open "cmd" and type "haxe" there to see version of Haxe available and type "openfl" there to test if it works, also check "haxelib")
Check FlashDevelop Haxe SDK
Trace your haxelibs here(use haxelib list in cmd)
This program is not responding.
This may mean, that you don't have some .dll in bin folder.(Depending on what you use in your project).
Or this may be connected somehow with your GPU drivers. Or it can be anything other. To get more info about that crash, try compiling to neko, and print output here.
Make sure you have latest haxelibs installed (haxelib upgrade and haxelib selfupdate)
To help you I need more info, print FlashDevelop output here.
I am searching for some help with JSR-82. I have searched for a long time, and even had my project supervisor at uni helping me out, and so far, I have had no luck.

I have a project whereby I simply need to scan for Bluetooth Devices
I have not yet been able to get my Bluetooth device scanning. I am using Eclipse IDE in CentOS 5.5
and am trying to use Bluecove.
I have downloaded "bluecove-gpl-2.1.0.jar" and added it to my Eclipse Build Path and the code i am using is sample code provided by BlueCove (RemoteDeviceDiscovery Found here: http://bluecove.org/bluecove/apidocs/overview-summary.html#DeviceDiscovery).
Before i can even compile, javax.Bluetooth.*; is underlined suggesting it cannot find it - Now as far as i am aware, this should be within the bluecove jar file i mentioned previously.
How on earth do I get this thing working? Ive tried using JSR82.com but that wasnt much help at all
If any one has the time to assist me, you would be concidered a god! haha

With bluecove on linux you need to provide the bluecove.jar and bluecove-gpl.jar. http://code.google.com/p/bluecove/wiki/Documentation
you will be needing 4 jar files: bluecove.jar,bluecove-emu.jar,electricblue.jar, javabluetooth.jar
however my code based on jsr82 implimentation did not work on samsung mobiles.... it is said that it does not support jsr82 stack. if anyone has idea on this share..

It's nice to see that someone is finally working on Abbrevia again, but looking at the Abbrevia web site I see that it still doesn't support modern versions of C++Builder. A few years ago I need to create Zips in an application and I found out that Abbrevia wouldn't work for me anymore. So, I compiled and linked in the Zip library from Info-ZIP, which worked very well. I didn't have much trouble adapting it to C++Builder as I recall, and it's still working fine today.
Info-ZIP's library only works with Zip files (no 7zip, etc.) but that's all we need here.
If you don't have RAD Studio, and only have C++Builder, you'll have to build it via the command line:
dcc32 -JL B305vr2009.dpk
You can then import the .bpl file generated from the Component->Import Component menu.
Abbrevia 3.05 didn't have C++Builder packages. The current release (5.0) supports C++Builder 2009-XE2 and has native .cbproj packages for it.
