RichFaces.ajax() ignores options.clientParameters - jsf

I'm globally setting clientParameters like this (globally for testing purposes, I will narrow it down to the specific use case once it works):
var originalRichFacesAjax = RichFaces.ajax;
RichFaces.ajax = function(source, event, options) {
options.clientParameters = options.clientParameters || {};
options.clientParameters.render = "#all";
options.clientParameters.execute = "#all";
originalRichFacesAjax.apply(this, arguments);
};
yet in the response I'm only getting a tiny partialupdate.
Why doesn't JSF/RichFaces rerender the entire page?

RichFaces do not check the client parameters for render/execute, instead they check for org.richfaces.ajax.component and get the values from the component.
You can remove the parameter after it's been added, or you can use jsf.ajax.request() instead.

Cannot set input field value with Element.value [duplicate]

My extension has a context menu with items. What I'd like it to do: is when I right-click an editable html element (eg input or textarea) and then select and click on an item in my menu - some value defined by my extension gets entered into the input.
For now I have realised that with document.activeElement.value = myValue.
With simple inputs it works alright.
Problems start when there is an input with custom onChange event handling, eg a calendar or a phone input, or currency input - that transforms user-input in some way.
Since I am setting a value directly onto the element - the handling logic gets omitted, which causes all manner of problems.
Since javascript doesn't allow for KeySend-like features - what are my options here?
I have thought about testing tools like Puppeteer or Cypress - but they all seem not to be packageable into an extension. Puppeteer does have such an option, but it still requires a node instance running to connect to. And I would like my extension to be solely client-sided and distributed in Chrome webstore - so I cannot ask my users to spin up a node server.
There is a built-in DOM method document.execCommand.
In case of an extension, use this code in the content script.
// some.selector may be `input` or `[contenteditable]` for richly formatted inputs
const el = document.querySelector('some.selector');
el.focus();
document.execCommand('insertText', false, 'new text');
el.dispatchEvent(new Event('change', {bubbles: true})); // usually not needed
It imitates physical user input into the currently focused DOM element so all the necessary events will be fired (like beforeinput, input) with isTrusted field set to true. On some pages the change event should be additionally dispatched as shown above.
You may want to select the current text to replace it entirely instead of appending:
replaceValue('some.selector', 'new text');
function replaceValue(selector, value) {
const el = document.querySelector(selector);
if (el) {
el.focus();
el.select();
if (!document.execCommand('insertText', false, value)) {
// Fallback for Firefox: just replace the value
el.value = 'new text';
}
el.dispatchEvent(new Event('change', {bubbles: true})); // usually not needed
}
return el;
}
Note that despite execCommand being marked as obsolete in 2020, it'll work in the foreseeable future because a new editing API specification is not finished yet, and knowing how slow such things usually move it may take another 5-20 years.
#wOxxOm, thank you very much !
I used your code solved my problem which has bothered me for long time. I googled many code and article for nearly one month.
It works on Facebook and many strong website.
Because execCommand has depredated, I try below code it works well, include Facebook.
function imitateKeyInput(el, keyChar) {
if (el) {
const keyboardEventInit = {bubbles:false, cancelable:false, composed:false, key:'', code:'', location:0};
el.dispatchEvent(new KeyboardEvent("keydown", keyboardEventInit));
el.value = keyChar;
el.dispatchEvent(new KeyboardEvent("keyup", keyboardEventInit));
el.dispatchEvent(new Event('change', {bubbles: true})); // usually not needed
} else {
console.log("el is null");
}
}
The following code can only work on ordinary websites, but it is invalid for strong website.
function fireKeyEvent(el, evtType, keyChar) {
el.addEventListener(evtType, function(e) {el.value += e.key;}, false);
el.focus();
const keyboardEventInit = {bubbles:false, cancelable:false, composed:false, key:keyChar, code:'', location:0};
var evtObj = new KeyboardEvent(evtType, keyboardEventInit);
el.dispatchEvent(evtObj);
}

change the expression in lwc component while iterating

We can use variables in aura components to concatenate some expression, we have to use variable name itself in lwc components, while looping how to change the lwc comp variable in js file.
I tried to access the dom using this.template.querySelector(); but this one is only giving the value if I use a rendered callback.
<template for:each={documentLinks} for:item="item">
//here I need to pass the item.ContentDocument.LatestPublishedVersionId to the end of a URL string
<img src={item.srcUrl} alt="PDF"/>
we can modify the returned data from apex but the data is proxy we cannot modify it.
One of the possible solutions to change the URL on the dom when it loads is to change the returned data from the server. here, In lightning web components the returned data is a proxy object, only readable. so we have to clone it(there are multiple ways to clone it), to make any changes. but here what I did.
therefore, overrides array is going to be the new data.
let overrides = [];
let newData = {
contentDocs: data[i],
srcUrl: '/sfc/servlet.shepherd/version/renditionDownloadrendition=thumb120by90&versionId=' + data[i]['ContentDocument']['LatestPublishedVersionId']
};
makeLoggable(newData);
overrides.push(newData);
function makeLoggable(target) {
return new Proxy(target, {
get(target, property) {
return target[property];
},
set(target, property, value) {
Reflect.set(target, property, value);
},
});
}

Making jslink target specific list

Background
I got a page where I’m showing two list views from two separate lists which both have Custom List as their ListTemplate. They got their separate jslink file cause I don’t want them to look alike.
Problem
The js link file targets both listviews since they use the same Template.
Code
(function () {
var listContext = {};
listContext.Templates = {};
listContext.ListTemplateType = 100;
listContext.Templates.Header = "<div><ul>";
listContext.Templates.Footer = "</ul></div>";
listContext.Templates.Item = LinkTemplate;
SPClientTemplates.TemplateManager.RegisterTemplateOverrides(listContext);
})();
Question
Is there any way to make the js only target a specific list?
Ended up going with Paul Hunts solution that he writes about on myfatblog.co.uk. http://www.myfatblog.co.uk/index.php/2013/09/listview-web-part-issues-with-jslink-and-display-templates-a-solution/
The script ended up looking like this and I pasted it into the jslink function where I define what listContext to override.
// Override the RenderListView once the ClientTemplates.JS has been called
ExecuteOrDelayUntilScriptLoaded(function(){
// Copy and override the existing RenderListView
var oldRenderListView = RenderListView;
RenderListView = function(ctx,webPartID)
{
// Check the title and set the BaseViewId
if (ctx.ListTitle == "List")
ctx.BaseViewID = "list";
//now call the original RenderListView
oldRenderListView(ctx,webPartID);
}
},"ClientTemplates.js");

Kohana 3: How can I pass full control to another action within my controller?

In my controller, I have a before() function that calls parent::before() and then does some additional processing once the parent returns. based on a specific condition, I want to "save" the original request and pass execution to a specific action. Here is my before() function.
public function before() {
parent::before();
$this->uri = Request::Instance()->uri;
$match = ORM::factory('survey_tester')
->where('eid','=',$this->template->user->samaccountname)
->find();
if (!$match->loaded()) {
self::action_tester("add",$this->template->user);
}
}
And the action that is being called..
public function action_tester($op=null,$user=null) {
$testers = ORM::factory('survey_tester')->find_all();
$tester = array();
$this->template->title = 'Some new title';
$this->template->styles = array('assets/css/survey/survey.css' => 'screen');
$this->template->scripts = array('assets/js/survey/tester.js');
$tester['title'] = $this->template->title;
$tester['user'] = $this->template->user;
switch ($op) {
case "add":
$tester = ORM::factory('survey_tester');
$tester->name = $user->displayname;
$tester->email = $user->mail;
$tester->division = $user->division;
$tester->eid = $user->samaccountname;
if ($tester->save()) {
$this->template->content = new View('pages/survey/tester_add', $admin);
} else {
$this->template->content = new View('pages/survey/tester_error', $admin);
}
break;
default:
break;
}
}
This all seems to work fine. This is designed to prompt the user for a specific piece of information that is not provided by $user (populated by LDAP) if this is the first time they are hitting the controller for any reason.
The problem is the views are not rendering. Instead control passes back to whatever action was originally requested. This controller is called survey. If i browse to http://my.site.com/survey and login with new user info, the record gets written and i get the action_index views instead of my action_tester views.
I cannot figure out what I am doing wrong here. Any ideas will be appreciated. Thank you.
EDIT: I managed to get this working (sort-of) by using $this->request->action = 'tester'; but I'm not sure how to add/set new params for the request yet.
The issue is that you are calling your method (action_tester), but then Kohana is still going to call the original action after the before method is called, which is going to change the response content overwriting the changed made in action_tester().
You can change the action being called (after before is called) inside your before() method:
$this->request->action('action_tester');
After the before method is called, it should then call the new Action (action_tester) rather than the old one, but then you need to do something about the way you are passing your parameters then.
Or you could just redirect the request upon some condition:
if($something) {
$this->request->redirect('controller/tester');
}
This doesn't seem like a nice way to do it anyway.

How do I get the select box values in YUI 3?

In YUI 3 I have a node that is my select box:
Y.get('#regionSelect');
How do I get the <option> values that are currently selected (even if there are more than one?) Also, is there a tutorial out there that tells me explicitly how to do this (I don't want to serialize a whole form)?
Once you have the selector, you can chain get and each
Y.get("#regionSelect").get("options").each( function() {
// this = option from the select
var selected = this.get('selected');
var value = this.get('value');
var text = this.get('text');
// apply secret sauce here
});
I've just been using the demos/examples on http://developer.yahoo.com/yui/3/ to figure things out.
// Selected Value
Y.one('#regionSelect')._node.value;
Y.one('#regionSelect').get('value');
// Selected Index
Y.one('#regionSelect')._node.selectedIndex;
Y.one('#regionSelect').get('selectedIndex');
You might not need to iterate through all options if you need just a selected one:
var index = Y.get("#regionSelect").get('selectedIndex');
var value = Y.get("#regionSelect").get("options").item(index).getAttribute('value');
You can directly use this. Require selector-css3 module to support IE.
YUI().use("selector-css3", "node", function (Y) {
var text = Y.one("#ownerSelector option:checked").get("text");
});
