PhantomJS and OpenShift, impossible to make work? - linux

Lately I have been messing around with OpenShift and have had some problems with my project. I have a normal Python 2.7 cartridge installed and want to use Selenium with PhantomJS but any binaries of PhantomJS I have found didnt work (Ghostdriver wouldn't work). So I installed RHEL 7 and compiled it myself, which worked perfectly on my machine but once uploaded it failed to execute.
I think this was because of missing libraries so I copied the necessary libraries and set LD_LIBRARY_PATH to where I put them. But now I've gotten a new error:
[...]/phantomjs: relocation error: [...]/lib/libc.so.6: symbol _dl_starting_up, version GLIBC_PRIVATE not defined in file ld-linux-x86-64.so.2 with link time reference
Does anyone have any ideas?

I compiled the version 1.9.8 on CentOS 6.6 x86_64 with a patch to make GhostDriver play nice with OpenShift. If you think it may help, you can find the binary here.

How to solve "plugin failed code 127" compiling with nanopb

I am trying to compile a c++ code in an conan enviroment, here are details:
Ubuntu 18.04 WSL x86-64
Windowns 10 x64
python 3.7.5
protoc 3.19.4
The project is located at /mnt/c/project
The build directory is located at /mnt/c/build
The build occurs without any errors but when I try to compile with "ninja" it throws an error related to protoc-gen-nanopb, as you can see attached image.
I tried to install a new protobuf from its c++ source, i added the LD_LIBRARY_PATH that was missing, and I have also tried to clean everything and erase all the files and build again. Everything seems to fail. I believe it's related to compatibility between protobuf and my python version, but I am not sure.
Could someone help me understand how to solve it? I am new to ubuntu and stackoverflow and i am sorry if some information is missing. In this case, just ask.

creating appimage using source code and linuxdeployqt

i trying to create a appimage for my Linux system. Using qt-creator i have completed the programing and ran the app successfully . but when i am trying to make it appimage using linuxdeployQt i am facing some errors
linuxdeployqt 5 (commit 37631e5), build 631 built on 2019-01-25 22:47:58 UTC ERROR:
The host system is too new.
Please run on a system with a glibc version no newer than what comes with the oldest still-
supported mainstream distribution, which currently is glibc 2.20.
This is so that the resulting bundle will work on most still-supported Linux distributions.
For more information, please see

i don't know what this issue is. when i visit the website, it is not clear also. So anyone familiar with this kind please put your help here.
It means that your glibc is too new.
That's correct, to work around this issue while using linuxdeployqt you have to choose as build environment an older system such as Centos 6 or Ubuntu 14.04.
As an alternative, you can use appimage-builder which allows producing AppImages on newer systems.
It means that your glibc is too new. I think it is supported glibc version comes with Ubuntu 14.04 as it is mentioned in herr https://github.com/probonopd/linuxdeployqt/issues/340. I have faced the same problem and still struggling to solve this issue.

Has official 32bit support for cmake on Linux been dropped?

I don't mean the version(s) provided by the various distributions but the binary from the official website.
I have an old VM running 32bit OpenSUSE 12.1 that is configured for a project I'm working on at work. I need to install WebKitGTK. The problem is that the cmake in the repositories is ancient 2.x, while WebKitGTK at least 3.6 (or similar). So I went to the official website and (my fault) without looking too much into it downloaded the 3.10 installation for Linux.
Upon executing the binary that was installed I got the error that the file could not be run. I checked the execution rights and it was fine. Then it struck me...I ran file cmake and got 64 instead of the required 32bit.
I went back to the website and all I could find were 32bit versions for Windows but none for Linux.
I can build it from source but just out of curiousity would like to know if support has been dropped. I was unable to find any information so far.
32-bit support for CMake hasn't been dropped. They just don't provide binaries for it on their website as of CMake 3.7.0

OSError: cannot load library libcairo.so.2: error 0x7e. Additionally, ctypes.util.find_library() did not manage to locate a library

I have installed the following
C:\MinGW
C:\msys
C:\GTK
But python searching for the files in site packages and throwing the error as:
OSError: cannot load library libcairo.so.2: error 0x7e. Additionally, ctypes.util.find_library() did not manage to locate a library
This issue happening in installation of weasyprint packages.
Installing GTK+ didn't work for me.
I solved this problem using UniConverter2.0.
My environments is
Python 3.7
Windows 10 x64
Install uniconvertor-2.0rc4-win64_headless.msi,
Find the "dll" sub-directory under the UniConverter installation path.(In my case, C:\Program Files\UniConvertor-2.0rc4\dlls)
Add this "dll" path to the system path.
Close VSCode and reopen the project.
Try to run your code again.
Enjoy!
In my experience with this issue Windows 10 (64-bit) with Python 3.5.1, it can be either due to duplicate libraries in other directories seen by PATH that don't work or the libraries that you installed just aren't compatible with your OS/Python bit version.
I suggest installing an older version of GTK+ (I used 3.10.4) using the links provided in the WeasyPrint documentation instead and see if the error persists. I had the issue on a newer build of GTK+. The version of GTK+ installed with MSYS2 gave the same error.
Edit: I found the post where I found the previous version of GTK that I was using but it gave an annoying warning about the cairo version being unstable:
See this post.
Edit 2: To get rid of the cairo version stability warnings, I managed to get a newer version of Cairo using the GTK3-runtime-3.22.8 (Link to git downloads as per WeasyPrint docs)
Remember to uninstall all current GTK+ implementations first. You might get a warning saying that the version of cairo can cause issues but I haven't been able to locate a newer version of cairo that works in windows, let me know if you find one.

Trouble with codeblocks installation on Ubuntu 9.10

I installed Code::Blocks on Ubuntu 9.10, but when I start it from terminal, it shows the following error:
relocation error: /usr/lib/libcodeblocks.so.0: symbol _Z18wxSafeConvertWX2MBPKw, version WXU_2.8.2 not defined in file libwx_baseu-2.8.so.0 with link time reference
What is wrong with it? It seems to me I have installed all necessary libraries. Any ideas?
P.S. I am a Linux noobie - so sorry if it is some kind of a well-known mistake.
The most likely problem is that libcodeblocks.so.0 was (apparently) linked against libwx_baseu-2.8.2.so, but the libwx_baseu you have installed is an earlier version 2.8.0.
Try locating libwx_baseu-2.8.2.so or some such and installing that.
