Liferay Simple File Upload instead of Complex Document & Media Page - liferay

I am creating one application in Liferay 6.2, it contains the Dynamic Data List which has Document & Media element associated with it. All work well but when user press Select button it open complex page for uploading the file. Which required lot of steps to upload single file.
Can this be simplified using hook; on pressing select it just open window to browse file as it is there in html, as currently functionality is confusing to client. And even file upload work automatically for guest users.
Any help will be highly appreciated, Thanks in advance.

Copy Paste of Document Link & DB does not work in XPage CKEditor

Copy & paste of lotus doc link and db link are not working for all users. Like it works for me in FF; IE10 & Chrome but not for most of the users. It comes as raw XML format and not getting converted to click able link that happens in sametime
Why is that happening and workaround for this please?
Get the other users to log in on your browser or vice versa. This will confirm if it's a Domino issue or a browser configuration issue. It's also working for me in a copy of the Discussion template, with various users.
From my tests, I suspect it will be down to browser configuration.
If using the same browser you get different outcomes for different users, then check the settings on the relevant Rich Text component, specifically around Active Content Filtering.

Automatically select save option in webbrowser file download dialog box

I have a c# desktop app which connects to a site via a web browser control. The problem is I need to navigate to a specific section and download a excel file which is generated from a postback. I would like to either automate this process or bypass the file download dialog and save the file directly to a local drive.
Problem
The link is not a standard url. The site uses a postback script to get the file needed which then displays the file download dialog box. E.g. When you click on the button (javascript: postback) the file download dialog box is automatically loaded.
As stated I want to bypass the save options and automatically store the file in a predefined location. Any help would be much appreciated.
I find AutoIt http://www.autoitscript.com/site/autoit/ very useful for these kind of tasks. If you want to integrate it with your C# app, then you can call your AutoIt script via system calls. The difficulty is finding and following the link on the page, that will depend on how the page is laid out.

Sharepoint document library file type and click events

I have a sharepoint document library where users upload files.
The allitems.aspx (the standard view) doesn't show correct icon for PDF and other files. Why is it so?
Also when users click on the document it doesn't open the file. For example clicking on a PDF document doesn't open using Acrobat reader even though it is installed on the server.
I even checked the file association by going to IE->Tools->Internet options->Set programs. The PDF is associated to acrobat reader.
Is there any other place to check?
Another issue is with the JPEG file. Within allitems.aspx it shows the image icon but when I click it tries to open using IE (which is fine) but doesn't load the image.
Are there any other settings? Please suggest. thanks.

Drag and Drop files into a SharePoint webpart to upload into DocLibrary

Is it possible to create a SharePoint (wss3 or MOSS 2007) webpart, to allow files to be dragged and dropped onto it, which would then upload the files into a predefined document library ?
I imagine that this would require some form of client side scripting (Ajax ?), but my knowledge in ajax is a bit sketchy.
From my exploration so far, I'm thinking:
User drags file onto 'drop zone' Webpart.
This action triggers some code
This code Loads the file into a SharePoint library (like this : Uploading a File to SharePoint)
Any pointers would be gratefully recieved
Many thanks.
Nick
Well,
What I'd do is, like you said, a web part with javascript that allow the user to drag and drop some files into a zone inside the webpart. Once the user has finished I'll upload those files after click on a Button of the webpart. I think is better to work with SharePoint in an unique transaction and not upload and delete files using AJAX. So, the drag and drop functionality can be done using some kind of javascript like Scriptaculous and the other one like a classic postback.
You might also want to look at another way to perform this. If you do it in a webpart, you will need to add that webpart in every sites where you want this fonctionnality to work. You might want to try Sharegate (www.share-gate.com). It's a end user tool that allows you to drag and drop file from your computer (or any SharePoint list / library) to any SharePoint library. By dropping the document inside the library, you will be ask to select a property template where you can define all the properties attach to your document. Not only you will drag and drop documents, but you will structure the information at the same time. Hope this was helpful!
Perhaps my reply is little bit irrelevant to your post!
I think upload files to SharePoint is not a painstaking job, the build-in feature is enough for us to upload files.
The trouble, I think, lies in the check in process, may be that is what you should do!
Altought maybe not that important now, but there is a SharePoint addon on CodePlex now
that allows files to be uploaded by Drag & Drop into SharePoint document libraries.
Available here: http://dndupload.codeplex.com/
Works in Firefox & Chrome, uses FileApi from HTML5, supports both SharePoint 2007 & 2010.
