When I am editing command button and I go to the top left corner to change the name of the command button it allows me to edit the text and change it but when I press enter or click somewhere the name of the button keeps reverting back to the original name.
I've tried also tried making sure design mode is selected as well, and the command button and the sheet do not have any protection on either
I'm sure I'm missing something simple.
I had a very similar problem. Solved! My problem was that I would create an ACTIVEX button, and using the properties, give it a customized name (changing CommandButton1 to something much more descriptive)... then later, upon saving and re-opening the excel, some of these buttons (not all) would revert to CommandButtonX.
The whole problem was THE LENGTH OF THE NAME. My names that failed would be around 39 chars or more (somewhere around 39). Using the selection objects pane under the Excel "Find and Select" menu item, I observed the ones that would fail vs succeed.... comparing what I would change in that pane with control properties (Name) and the excel "sheet Name Box" in the upper left area of the sheet screen.
When we have to rename the command button, you can use properties and namebox. But the purpose to change the appearance of button, you have to go to
properties->caption. In caption, you can rename button's appearance.

I tried commandbars codes and excutemso but they didnt work and i realized that commandbars are surpersed in newest version of office
How can i use it?
Tnx for your time
CommandBars.ExecuteMso ("ScreenClipping")
In general, to identify a control on the Ribbon:
Hover over the desired button until the name pops up and remember it > rightclick on the ribbon and click "Customise the Ribbon" > in the first column click "All Commands" (NOT All Tabs) > find the remembered name in the alphabetical list and hover over it until info pops up. The actual "Code" name for the button will be the one in brackets.
(I do not know why, but the Button ID Execute method doesn't seem to work on this command)
Context
I want the user to review some selections they made earlier. So I display some text describing each selection on a separate control in a userform. Some of the text on the controls is long, extending beyond the width of the control. This is fine; I just want the user to be able to see all of the text without being able to edit it. To do this, I use textboxes that are "Locked" (i.e. not editable) but "Enabled" (i.e. selectable). This way, they can just click and either mouse-drag or arrow-key over to scroll through all the text.
Problem
The (small, aesthetic) problem is that when the user clicks in one of the textboxes, they get a blinking cursor, which is misleading as that is normally associated with an editable textbox.
Possible solutions
Ideally, there would be some way of removing the blinking cursor, while still allowing selection but not edition. However, I'm open to other alternatives that don't have to do with changing the width, or having a scrollbar (the textbox is too short to fit a scrollbar). The best alternative I have so far is changing the background color to a gray to make it slightly more clear that it's not editable.
P.S. I'm very familiar with VBA, so if that's part of the solution, I'm cool with that.
Thanks all!
I had a similar issue, and solved it by using these instructions to create a hidden textbox that the cursor automatically appeared in (invisible to the user).
Does Android Studio have the option of opening a referenced file in a new tab (like Xcode's Alt-click feature)?
If not, is there a way of creating this?
Open current editor tab in new window
Shift+F4
Even I couldn't find a way of "Duplicating Tabs". But there are two workarounds that might help:
1) Right click on a tab title and choose either Split Vertically or Split Horizontally. This can be done multiple times!
2) If for some reason you don't want to see the files side by side, there's another hack (works for me on Mac): First, right click on a tab title and choose either Split Vertically or Split Horizontally. Now, drag the extra tab (by its title) on to the title bar of Android Studio => the tab will pop out into a new window!
Hope this helps!
I'm creating a dynamic chart using an Excel form control -- the scrollbar -- and the way this works is exactly as described on http://www.excelcharts.com/blog/animation-interaction-and-dynamic-excel-charts/ (towards the bottom). I have a chart of data, and a column called "Chart source" that just does an index match based on the scrollbar's linked number. When you click through the scrollbar, it updates the chart source column and thus the chart.
The problem I'm having is that when I click the scrollbar, it keeps scrolling all the way, to either the left or the right, instead of moving incrementally one by one. The number counts through 1 by 1, but it goes all the way as if I were continuously clicking the button. This behavior stops in its tracks if I click and then move the mouse out of the arrow area. I've tried messing with the form control's "incremental change" and "page change" options to no avail. Things that do work: I can click and drag the scrollbar itself to the place I want it. I can type a new number in the cell linked to the scrollbar, and the scrollbar will jump to the right position.
Does anyone have an idea of how to fix this bug?
EDIT: I figured out the problem. This is a bug in Excel. If you are in "Page Break Preview" mode instead of "Normal" mode, this behavior will happen. Switching back to "Normal" mode (the first of the three icons in the bottom right next to the zoom) fixes this behavior.
This problem occurs when calculations that result from the changed value that is controlled by the scroll bar, takes too long. Changing to Manual calculation mode resolves the problem (although of course is not necessarily desirable in all cases)...

The same has been happening to me, but my excel sheet was in "normal" mode.I believe the original answer is correct. I noticed this happens when I press a combination of keys or my hand lightly brushes across bottom pf laptop. Very annoying. Finally I sit and wait for the scrolling to stop then click back to top of sheet.
Possible answer... I have the problem with one type of worksheet, but only when another worksheet with VBA code is open. A fix might be, in the first worksheet:
File\Options\Advanced\Formulas\un-check Enable Multi-Threaded Calculation

I'm designing a workflow database in Lotus Notes 6.0.3 (soon upgrading to 8.5), and my OS is Windows XP.
I have recently tried converting a tabbed table into a programmable one. This was so that I could control which tab was displayed to the user when it was opened, so that they were presented with the most appropriate one for that document's progress through the workflow. That part of it works!
One of the tabs features a radio button that controls visibility of the next tab, and a pair of cascading dialogue boxes. One contains the static list "Person":"Team", and the other has a formula based on the first:
view:=#If(PeerReview = "Team"; "GroupNames"; "GroupMembers");
#Unique(#DbColumn(""; ""; view; 1))
The dialogue boxes have the property "Refresh fields on keyword change" selected.
The behaviour that I wasn't expecting is this. If the radio button is set to "Yes" and a value is selected in one of the dialogue boxes, the table opens the next tab. If the radio button is set to "No" and a value is selected in one of the dialogue boxes, the entire table is hidden.
I can duplicate the latter by switching off the "Refresh fields on keyword change" property on the dialogue boxes and instead pressing F9 after selecting a value. I have no idea why the former occurs, though. The table is called "RFCInfo", and I have a field on the form called "$RFCInfo" which is editable, hidden from all users who aren't me and initially set by a Postopen script, which I can post if necessary - it's essentially a Select Case statement that looks at a particular item value and returns the name of the table row relating to that value.
Can anyone offer any pointers?
Hide-when formulas in table cells in Notes R5 and R6 were notorious for breaking in unpredictable ways when you edited the table cells. Even in R7, I think they were still a little bit funky, but by R8 they were finally really solid. You haven't shown the hide-when's but my first guess is that you are simply a victim of the bad behavior.
Please don't shoot the messenger, but the usual way we addressed this sort of problem was to painstakingly re-create the entire table from scratch, and hope we never have to edit it again. I.e., make a copy of the table in a scratch form and clear all the hide-whens -- one by one. Then create a brand new empty table in a second scratch form and get all the cells set up exactly like the original table, including nested tables, merged cells, and other settings -- but skip the hide-whens for now. Then copy each cell's content from the first scratch form to the corresponding cell of the second scratch form. Then, referring to the hide-whens in the original form, re-create each hide-when on the paragraphs in the cells on the second scratch form. Finally, delete the original table from your original form and then copy/paste the table from the second scratch from back into your original form.
Once you have R8.5, move to XPages in Notes, it's almost a no-brainer to implement your tabs. And in return, you get many other interesting issues to solve!
