Configuration Node.Js on Jenkins on Mac - node.js

Do you know how to install NodeJs in Jenkins with a MacOs ? I've tried to install it automatically but when I build a job I got this error Error: Cannot find module 'config-chain'.
I tried to install node in the right folder but I already have an installation of node so it doesn't work. Does anyone know what to put in those field ? sreenshot

I resolved this problem by adding that :
export PATH=/usr/bin:/bin:/usr/sbin:/sbin:/usr/local/bin:$PATH
I don't know if it's the better way to do it but it works because Jenkins now use the node js installation of my machine.

How to run asp.net core application using pm2 on linux server

I have updated my asp.net core API over linux server using kestrel, I want to run the core application using pm2. Let me know if any buddy has already done this kind of task.
What I have tried is:
I Installed the pm2 on my linux server (not globally). It installed successfully but when I'm trying to run the code using pm2, I am getting error pm2, command not found
I tried to install the pm2 globally but getting write access issue in node modules some where but I can't give global write access.
Thanks in advance for your help :)
pm2, command not found means the binary is not found cause it is most probably missing in your PATH variable. The path differs whether you install it globally or not - see pm2-command-not-found how to figure out the path and how to add it to your PATH variable.
When not installed globally, the binaries are under ~\node_modules. This you have to add the actual binary path e.g. ~/node_modules/pm2/bin to the PATH variable or you call it directly using ~/node_modules/pm2/bin/pm2
For the installation problem mentioned above, run the installation as sudo npm install -g pm2

wedriverio jenkins - npm command not found error

I am trying to run webdriverio test from jenkins and following this . I installed nodeJS plugin for jenkins and under global tool config, for NodeJS , added a name and installation directory as /usr/local/bin (node executable is in this folder)
In Jenkins, in project config , under build environment, I have checked
Provide Node & npm bin/ folder to PATH and chosen the node installation name from previous step
But when I am trying to run npm install
npm test ,by adding these commands under execute shell under Build and building it, I receive this error
Building in workspace /Users/Shared/Jenkins/Home/workspace/wdio-project
[wdio-project] $ /bin/sh -xe /Users/Shared/Jenkins/tmp/hudson1478028169114509075.sh
+ npm install
/Users/Shared/Jenkins/tmp/hudson1478028169114509075.sh: line 2: npm: command not found
Build step 'Execute shell' marked build as failure
Finished: FAILURE
In case someone is looking for same issue, I resolved the above error by adding export PATH=/usr/local/bin to the execute shell under build. This post helped me
There is currently a bug opened about this (JENKINS-26583 and JENKINS-27170)
I could workaround this bug by adding explicitly node on the PATH by adding this line :
export PATH=$PATH:/home/jenkins/.jenkins/tools/jenkins.plugins.nodejs.tools.NodeJSInstallation/node_js/bin/
I had just fixed the same issue as you did.
I wonder if my fix would also help you. When I was using the alpine-based docker image, the Jenkins can never find the npm, but when I use the debian-based docker image, problem solved immediately.
Try this export PATH=/usr/local/bin:$PATH
After installation of NodeJS restart pc
In my case this worked -
export PATH=$PATH:/usr/local/bin

Node js command line doesn't work on ubuntu

I've built a command line using Nodejs, I was developing it on windows, than after I published it on npm, I installed it from Ubuntu, then I tried to use it, it says that there is no such file.
I'm not sure of what is the problem, I have doubt that it's from this line :
#!/usr/bin/env node
I also tried to clone the repo from ubuntu, and I run the command
npm link
and it worked ! can someone please tell me what did I do wrong ?
Here is the whole repo on github and the package on npm

What location does Node.js needs to be installed

I am trying to setup a project to work with Grunt. I need to install Node.js for that to run. I have downloaded and installed Node.js in c:\programfiles.
However when I try running npm install in my project c:\Grunt-proj , I get an error 'npm' is not recognized as an internal or external command.
Can someone help me with where to install Node.js? I am trying to follow this tutorial-
http://24ways.org/2013/grunt-is-not-weird-and-hard/
Many thanks,
The location is fine. I also have installed it in Program Files. But if you need to run the command npm from a command prompt then you need to add it to the path of the system. In my case I have C:\Program Files\nodejs

Testing Hubot locally in Ubuntu

Hi Stackoverflow community,
Well the thing is that I'm working on a script for hubot. Before starting to code I'm trying to test some hubot commands in the command line (I already did it in Windows but for some reasons I've to change to Ubuntu environment to start to code this brand new custom hubot) I'd like to be able to write in the terminal >Hubot PING and get a response PONG to start to work.
Till now I've already installed Node.js through nodenv https://github.com/OiNutter/nodenv and I tested my node >node -v, got v0.10.22. I forked my hubot and cloned locally and then apply ~./hubot> npm install to get all the dependencies and everything seems OK. Then I went to the installation folder >cd node_modules/hosted-hubot which has a folder called bin, inside the hubot folder.
So, till this point everything seemed OK and I tried to do in the command line: ./bin/hubot and I'm not able to run hubot locally, it gave me: nodenv: version `v0.8' is not installed. I tried to install an older version of node 0.8 and got the same message.
So that's it, hope you guys can help me to try to test my hubot locally
Thanks in advance!!!
I made a fresh install and I instal node.js without nodenv and everything works properly. It may not be the better solution but it was what I did.
