I installed Team Foundation Server Express 2012 on a windows 8.1 machine and was connecting to it via another Visual Studio 2013 on another windows 8.1 machine for my personal development projects. However recently I am unable to connect to TFS and I have no idea why. TFS appears to be running -- i just am unable to connect to it. I removed the server from Visual Studio and attempt to re-add it and get a TF31002. Any ideas on how to diagnose this issue?

We have a Visual Studio 2012 test controller. When attempting to connect from a machine with Visual Studio 2012 installed, I can connect to the test controller and queue a test with no issues. When I attempt to connect to it and run a test from my development machine running Visual Studio 2013 however, I get the following error:

Can VS 2013 not connect to a VS2012 test controller? We are running TFS 2012 which VS 2013 has no issues with.
Your client is newer than the test controller which is not supported scenario. There is no cross-compatibility between VS2013 client and VS2012 controller.

because I need sharepoint server so I installed windows server 2012 r2 on windows 8.1 hyper-v and then Installed sql server 2012 and sharepoint server 2013 and create my first farm server
now I want to create my sharepoint app in visual studio that is installed on windows 8.1 but when I tap to vs 2013 sharepoint solution give me the same error that as if sharepoint is not running on the local machine .
when I browse sp server admin center In windows 8.1 browser it's able to load sp server central admin
also I installed sharepoint designer on windows 8.1 and it's able to create site with this virtual sp server but just visual studio is not able to find this virtual server ?
please help me how can I add this virtual sp server to my visual studio ( the visual studio that is installed on my win 8.1 ) ??

Install VS 2013 on the hyper-v that your SharePoint server is installed on. run VS 2013 from inside the hyper-v and you should now be local with your SharePoint server.

I have already BizTalk 2013 server installed on cloud. And I have already Visual Studio 2012 on my Window 7 computer. What do I need to install (and where do I get it) to have Visual Studio 2012 BizTalk 2013 projects without installing BizTalk server on my machine.

For development you must install the BizTalk Developer Tools from the BizTalk install media. That adds the BizTalk Project System to Visual Studio.
However, while such a setup is technically possible, you will find it frustratingly unproductive.
Mostly because you will not be able to Deploy directly to the remote BizTalk Server.
If you are serious about BizTalk development, please consider either a VM with the entire stack (Windows, SQL Server, BizTalk Server and Visual Studio) or boot to VHD also with the entire stack. If you use Windows 8 ENT, you can use the same VHD either in a VM or direct boot.
