I have an Xpage that I want to put in a panel in the sidebar.
I only want the entry part to be in the panel, so I made a ccEntry Custom Control and I put it into an Xpage for the main app and into an Xpage that is for the widget and ONLY contains the ccEntry form.
When I run the widget in the sidebar and hit submit, the code in the submit (which says previous) goes to the entire page. I want to put something in the button to like if I am in a sidebar then do this else do this. So if I could grab the name of the Xpage in a field that would do, but I cannot figure out how to do this.
Try view.getPageName(). That will give you a string of the current XPage's name in the format "/somepage.xsp".
#Jesse's solution makes something nasty: the control gets tightly coupled to its surroundings. You have two options:
Redirect
Define custom control's parameter with page name or URL to redirect to. Your submit button then redirects to that URL (accessed by compositeData.param). Your pages define different parameter value.
Navigation (preferred)
Your submit button's last command is simple line of code:
return "submitted";
Your pages for app/sidebar define different navigation rule target for the same rule: "submitted".

Right now I am working on a Xpage which displays data from a domino document. Based on the form of the document different fields will be displayed.
Now I want to create a "New" function. My idea here is to set the view I am previously using in edit mode.
Additionally, I want to add a radio button which enables a user to choose the form of the document he wants to create.
Based on this radio button the document form should change which should result in the elements displayed on the page changing too.
Overall if I switch between the radio button options and hit save, a new document will be created with the right form.
Yet my problem is that my elements in my view won't change dynamically. So if I switch my form there will still be elements/controls displayed for the default option but not the selected form.
My idea was to create an onChange-event for my Radio Button Group.
My questions here would be: How can I change my formValue for the Xpage (new document) and then reload it with the new set value?

I understand you have one XPage suitable for multiple forms, I assume using a Switch control and custom controls per form. About the New button, you could try first to have 3 New buttons, each for a separate form, and you create a URL like yoursite.com/xpage.xsp?action=newdocument&form=someform
When the user clicks the button, your page can read the parameters (param.action and param.form) and act accordingly. Or do you intend to update the current page using partial refresh, as a single page approach?
I am developing a WebExtension and as you know it is impossible to inject content script on chrome://* pages and https://chrome.google.com/webstore/*. I have a buttons in a context menu and for correct UX I would like to drop my item from context menu on such protected page.
According to the documentation I can handle click on my context menu item, but looks like no way to check the url of the page on the moment of right mouse click without trying to inject content script into every page?
As a workaround I have a code that checks url after click to the menu item.
I am creating a custom webpart using the Url Selector from kentico. I want the user to select content just from the Media Library. I went to form controls -> Url Selector -> Properties -> Dialogs_Content_Hide -> Default Value -> Yes and it still showing it in the Web Part. If I select the Dialogs_Web_Hide, Dialogs_Libraries_Hide and select the yes option in the default values, they hide, all except the Content_Dialogs.
Is this a bug? Or its something wrong?

First set the form controls properties back to the way they were. If you don't, it will cause all kinds of problems later on.
Secondly, when you create the property in the webpart in the UI, select the URL selector form control for your text fields control. The scroll down just a bit and under the Editing Control Settings you'll see an "Configure" link. Click it. In there you will be able to tell the form control what tabs you want to enable and disable.
To add to Brenden's answer; if this is something you need to do a lot for your current build, then I'd also suggest making a copy of the Url selector form control and customize the properties as you originally mentioned. This way, you leave the default control in place for the system and have a control tailored to your needs. I've done this just now to check with a new form control that I called Media URL selector. Do make sure that you select the same source file as the original control in the Cloned form control file name property - Kentico by default will try to locate a new file called <original filename>_1.ascx. The reason for this is that admin section of your site also makes use of this control, so you may cause a nasty side effect somewhere else in the system.
As for why the settings had no effect; these are the default values you are setting. If you already have the form control in use, then the default setting would have been applied as they originally were. If you find one of the fields in question, you can change the control type to Text box, click Save, and then reassign it to Media URL selector.
I have a view on the page with pager which works nice, and I have also a text field bound to viewScope variable but now I have found out, that when I enter the text into text field and then click on previous/next pager buttons it does server turnaround (the same for full and partial refresh defined for pager) the view is switched to another page correctly but the text field variable is lost. In the browser dev tools I can see the variable is posted to the server correctly but its not bound to the field and after page refresh the text field is blank. I have put code to view this viewScope variable on server console in afterRestoreView event but its realy empty. Can someone help me to understand how is the pager supposed to work with combination with other form fields?
To solve this I have enabled partial refresh for pager and put xp:panel around the pager and view. All the input fields are now outside this panel. During the pager navigation the partial refresh process updates only the nearest parent panel and rest of the fields remains unchanged on html. And this is what I want ...
I have two web parts in my sharepoint aspx web page. One is Content editor web part and the other is data form web part.
In data form web part, I have a data view and I need to pass a parameter "id" to this dataview which will show the project details in the data view. I tried to use a value from a control as a parameter and never had a success. I did googled a lot last few days and haven't found any solution. It would be great, if someone show me a way to use the text from a control (may be a text box or select control). if someone have a working sample, please share. Alternatively I have used a query string as a parameter (eventhough I prefer to use text from a control). We need to pass a query string called id. For example, I am navigating to http://localhost/pages/1.aspx?id=7. This will show the project details of project id 7 in data form web part. this works fine.
I need to provide an option to user to enter the project id instead of modifying the query string in url. To achieve that I used content editor web part and I have a text box text1 and a submit button (html controls). The user will enter project id in the text box provided and will click the submit button to view the project details in dataview. The submit button javascript code has the following code:

For testing purpose, I just hardcoded the url. However, clicking the submit button is not redirecting to http://localhost/pages/1.aspx?id=7 or something happens during redirect. The page just reloads once. i.e., if I am in http://localhost/pages/1.aspx?id=12 and clicking the submit button reloads the page http://localhost/pages/1.aspx?id=12 instead of navigating to http://localhost/pages/1.aspx?id=7.
Without data form web part, the redirect works fine. Kindly help.
