I have two web parts in my sharepoint aspx web page. One is Content editor web part and the other is data form web part.
In data form web part, I have a data view and I need to pass a parameter "id" to this dataview which will show the project details in the data view. I tried to use a value from a control as a parameter and never had a success. I did googled a lot last few days and haven't found any solution. It would be great, if someone show me a way to use the text from a control (may be a text box or select control). if someone have a working sample, please share. Alternatively I have used a query string as a parameter (eventhough I prefer to use text from a control). We need to pass a query string called id. For example, I am navigating to http://localhost/pages/1.aspx?id=7. This will show the project details of project id 7 in data form web part. this works fine.
I need to provide an option to user to enter the project id instead of modifying the query string in url. To achieve that I used content editor web part and I have a text box text1 and a submit button (html controls). The user will enter project id in the text box provided and will click the submit button to view the project details in dataview. The submit button javascript code has the following code:
url = 'http://localhost/pages/1.aspx?id=7';
alert (url); //alerts as http://localhost/pages/1.aspx?id=7
window.location = url;
For testing purpose, I just hardcoded the url. However, clicking the submit button is not redirecting to http://localhost/pages/1.aspx?id=7 or something happens during redirect. The page just reloads once. i.e., if I am in http://localhost/pages/1.aspx?id=12 and clicking the submit button reloads the page http://localhost/pages/1.aspx?id=12 instead of navigating to http://localhost/pages/1.aspx?id=7.
Without data form web part, the redirect works fine. Kindly help.
Thank you

I have an Xpage that I want to put in a panel in the sidebar.
I only want the entry part to be in the panel, so I made a ccEntry Custom Control and I put it into an Xpage for the main app and into an Xpage that is for the widget and ONLY contains the ccEntry form.
When I run the widget in the sidebar and hit submit, the code in the submit (which says previous) goes to the entire page. I want to put something in the button to like if I am in a sidebar then do this else do this. So if I could grab the name of the Xpage in a field that would do, but I cannot figure out how to do this.
Try view.getPageName(). That will give you a string of the current XPage's name in the format "/somepage.xsp".
#Jesse's solution makes something nasty: the control gets tightly coupled to its surroundings. You have two options:
Redirect
Define custom control's parameter with page name or URL to redirect to. Your submit button then redirects to that URL (accessed by compositeData.param). Your pages define different parameter value.
Navigation (preferred)
Your submit button's last command is simple line of code:
return "submitted";
Your pages for app/sidebar define different navigation rule target for the same rule: "submitted".
I have a view that has XPage Associated with document form set.
The form property has the xpage associated with the document.
If I click on the link in the view the proper correct xpage is displayed as expected.
But if I close the browser, and paste the URL to the document into the browser, I get the error, Unable to get document page name for (and the unid). As long as I remain logged in the url will work without error or if I set anonymous to Reader the url will continue to work. But if I close the browser where I would be prompted to login then I get the error but I get the error before being prompted to log in.
The url for assocated forms looks a little different than when the view is used to display the xpage.
myserver/mydb.nsf/$$OpenDominoDocument.xsp?documentId=12B571F2B03E3764852573690041E273&action=openDocument
The view has various types of forms so I need to associate the form with the xpage or I suppose I can compute the xpage for the form. But any idea what would be causing this issue?
If you are opening a document from a view, the associated form could be overriden by a form formula of the view. When opening the document directly with $$OpenDominoDocument.xsp the original form stored in the document is used instead.
The form can be associated with a XPage in different ways:
For XPiNC there is a field $XPagesAltClient in the form
For web access there is a field $XPagesAlt in the form
There is a entry in the xsp.properties file.
For example this entry...
xsp.domino.form.xpage.foo=bar
...will open a document with the value foo in the Form field with the XPage bar.xsp.
Hope this helps

I am a newbie in using Drupal 6 and I am still walking in the dark in terms of module familiarization and module configurations. Lately, I installed the Webform module for my site to be able to let users submit a request. In my Webform, there is a Select View field where it lists all contents of a specific Content Type on my Drupal site. I was able to use a View as a datasource for my normal webform select component via the Webform View Reference Component that's whay I have a custom <select> field which are views on my Webform. Now, after a successful submission of the form, I go to Results and found the data which are saved upon submission. What I want is that, on my Results page, the selected option from the list, which basically are views, will be a link to their respective views. This is how it looks like,
I am really lost right here. Can someone lend me a hand on how to make this possible? Cheers.
Install this module http://drupal.org/project/webform_report it will be displayed in table format and also you can customize the report & also It will create separate content type.
Below is the screen shot for webform report, you can also view, edit & delete from report itself.
I have create a custom field that inherits from SPFieldUser. Everything works fine on the site and the value displays fine in InfoPath as long as I am either in preview mode or select Edit In InfoPath. As soon as I view the form in the browser the field's value no longer displays. Has anyone seen anything like this before?
Thanks,
I might be wrong but that kinda makes sense to me, If editing a publishing page in SharePoint, the owner field for example is metadata on the page and can be filled in edit mode but when in display mode this metadata is not shown unless I explicitly show it. The fields shown in edit mode and display mode are different for pages and I am assuming the same for InfoPath forms.
I've published an InfoPath form, through the administrator route, to a document library. I can click new form on the document library and have my custom form load up in the browser. When the filled form is saved back to the list it fires off a workflow. The workflow creates a task for another user to go into the form and complete the missing fields (if there are any.)
The key here is that the partially filled form saved to the library needs to be the very same form opened in the first task. The link field of the task is automatically filled with the url to the list item, which is the xml for the partially filled form. The link is identical to that when you mouse over the item back in the document library but when it's clicked from the task it try's to open the form inside InfoPath itself and not inside the browser. So that's one problem with the link field that SharePoint automatically populates when you create a task.
Ideally I would want to associate the partially filled form with the task itself. I've done this before in workflow with infopath forms by putting the FormURN inside workflow.xml and then specifying the TaskType on the task. However this will create up a new form based on the template. How can I get it to use the existing xml on the list item which the workflow which the task is actually running on.
Suggestions would be very much appriciated.
Change the url to go this url
{SITE_COLECTION_URL}/_layouts/FormServer.aspx?XmlLocation={FORM_URL}&DefaultItemOpen=1
use the tutorial on this page and have a field on the forms ItemMetadata.xml called url and set it in the code
taskProperties.ExtendedProperties["url"] = SERVERURL + "/_layouts/FormServer.aspx?XmlLocation=" + FORMURL + "&DefaultItemOpen=1";
This is not the most elegant solution but does work well. You will need to modify the form to act as an action listener.
Instead of creating tasks, send out emails containing a link to the InfoPath. When the user opens the form customize the top of form to look like a task form with a checkbox, when the form is updated fire the workflow to check if the check box is complete, if so move on the workflow on.
