I was trying to install an APK file generated by an android build. I was using Galaxy S5. I plugged the phone in via USB to my computer but adb was unable to detect the device.
$ adb devices
List of devices attached
What do I do to make this phone visible to adb? The reason why I want to use adb is this is how you install android apps onto devices. In the past you just had to select the option to enable usb debugging but in recent version of android this feature is not readily available.
I found the solution finally.
Go to the settings menu on your GS5.
Scroll down to the "System section and tap "About Device."
Now scroll down to "Build number."
Tap the "Build number" section seven times. (You'll see a warning that you're about to unlock developer options.)
Now back out to the main settings menu, and under "SYSTEM" you'll see "Developer options" listed.
Under Developer options you select USB debugging
Now run adb devices in the command line and the phone will be visible

I am new to PopOS! I have customized my desktop appearance except TOP BAR. I want to change this top bar panel. Is there any solution?
I have found the the solution with the installation of gnome tweak tools and extentions application. These makes the customization easier as it is on Ubuntu. I have also install plasma-desktop and from there I have installed all the themes I need. Without plasma desktop you can make the same but a bit difficult.
You can install gnome-tweak-tools from your shop where you get all the application.
Again most of the case extensions application could be installed in your system. Other than you can install this from shop also like gnome-tweak-tools.
In order to install plasma-desktop run this command on your terminal sudo apt-get install plasma-desktop
Then restart your system and select plasma desktop while sign in with your account. You will see a gear button at bottom right of you sign in screen. From there you have to select them.
In plasma desktop you have to go to settings and there you will get all the settings. For more customization you can follow YouTube tutorial.
Then logout from plasma desktop and in you PopOS desktop open tweak application to select the theme from appearance section.
Here is my customization:

I have chrome installed on my windows 7. Whenever i click on any link on any site, the link opens as it should open normally but along with that, a new tab opens and a page open that new tab, which is advertisement page. The url of that page is wonderlandads dot com/afu.php?zoneid=437742 . Even when i click on scroll bar the same page opens in new tab. This is very irritating. I have tried to remove this adware by using Anti Malware Quickheal . I have also scanned my PC with antivirus. I do not have any unwanted software in my PC. I have tried reinstalling chrome and other browsers(IE, firefox) that i have. I am experiencing the same problem in firefox and IE. How can i fix it ?
Just search for "uninstall wonderlandads.com" on Google - it installs as a program on your computer, so you need to go to Programs in the Control Panel and uninstall it.

I have Manjaro Linux on my laptop with KDE desktop. In desktop environments you can have multiple desktops. I want to turn one of these desktops into a permanent terminal. A complete full-screen terminal like the one you get when you don't have a desktop environment installed. Is there anyway to turn one of my workspaces in KDE into a permanent terminal ??
Did you try using a plasmoid? It's not complete full screen but it's as near as it gets.
For example this or this.
Also, have you tried Yakuake? It's not located on the desktop, but invoked by a key press (usually F12) or by the mouse reaching the top border if you want. It's the first program I install on any KDE setup, it's vital to my workflow.

I'm using VMware workstation 8 on windows 7 and having some Linux hosts such as Centos, Backtrack and ... on it.
The problem is the screen of the virtual machines is not fixed with my screen.
here is the picture from my screen: https://s15.postimg.cc/7carokj4r/Capture.png
Change the resolution of your operating system running in VMware and hope it will stretch the screen when chosen the correct values
Go to view and press "Switch to scale mode" which will adjust the virtual screen when you adjust the application.
It sounds to me as if you actually mean "linux guests" and not "linux hosts".
But in any case, I suspect you did not install the VMWare Tools: doubleclick on that icon on the Desktop that can be seen on your screenshot. It will install some drivers that communicate with VMWare that, among other things, allow to adjust the screen resolution dynamically.
When the installation process is finished, you'll most likely have to reboot the VM.
From you main machine, start -> search -> "remote desktop connection" -> click on "remote desktop connection" -> Click "Options" Beside to "Connect Button" -> Display Tab - > Then increase Display Configuriton Size. If this will not work, try the same thing by closing remote desktop. But this will give you solution.
