Red circle before Contact FullName in Advanced Find (Dynamics CRM 2011) - dynamics-crm-2011

The client asked me a question - what is the red circle before the full_name in the advanced find results window (see screenshot below)?
Does anyone know what could it be or at least how to reproduce it?

I'm rather sure that your client has installed Lync (or Live Messenger, which does not really exist anymore) and he has enabled the presence indicator.

Ok I know what it is.
If you have a Contact with the email address then the crm will show the status of contact as online/offline
Add email address to a contact and you will see this icon.
Save and then find that contact you will see red circle.
Mouseover the circle and it will show details Presence Unkown/Available.
Ok If you want to Reproduce it...
In Administration Click System Settings
Set the IM presence option to Yes It will re-apppear

Azure Active Directory Company Branding - Can't Edit

I've configured Company Branding (Images, Text, etc.) using Azure Active Directory > Company branding > Configure, and works fine.
However, I can't find any way to actually go back and edit the branding (update/delete), etc.
When I go into Company branding now, it just shows a record with LOCALE as Default, and no edit button. And the Delete button is grayed out.
How can I either remove the branding I applied, or edit it (Ideally) to use different images, etc.
Thanks in advance.

out.
After you finish configuring, by default, the Delete button is grayed out. But if you want to change the image, you can click the Remove button and then you can update the new.
If your situation is different, please post your screenshot here.

InfoPath Date Picker Control is missing the calendar icon on published forms

This seems to be a new problem others are also recently experiencing and is probably caused by the latest Microsoft updates. As far as I can tell, it is happening with all versions of InfoPath. I posted a question to this forum about it: http://www.infopathdev.com/forums/t/31763.aspx
I am using Win 7, InfoPath 2007 filler forms, SharePoint 2007 with IE11 in compatibility mode. Forms published (to SharePoint) that contain a date picker control are missing the colorful calendar icon and instead now show a square gray box with a black "x" in the middle of it. When I bust open a form template in design mode, the date picker icon shows up correctly as a calendar image and in color.
Has anyone else experienced this change in behavior and have any suggestions on how to fix? I've googled with no findings as I think this behavior just started this week.
I can confirm that the instructions below are the solution for the Date picker icon issue in InfoPath. I use Win7 and IE 11.
"Go to Internet Option > Security > Trusted Site and Add "about:Internet". You may need to uncheck require server verification for https"
It has been suggested by the InfoPathDev forum that the solution by Microsoft at link below will solve this problem. I can not verify its validity myself as my company IE settings are controlled by group policy which I am unable to edit.

The forum moderator tried it and verified it works for her environment.

Spotfire Plugin Cache Settings, visualization not loading correctly in web interface. Any advice?

I use a web interface to display spotfire visualizations using the spotfire plugin. I am currently having an issue where a small number of users are receiving an error when loading the visualizations in their browser.
I get "document property undefined errors" and in the navigation menu I've created one specific filter element displays grayed out with the message "Property control needs configuration"
I am currently using Spotfire 6.0, and have extensively searched http://support.spotfire.com/patches_spotfire.asp for possible solutions but have not successfully found any clear explanation of the problem.
If anyone has any experience with the spotfire plugin, PLEASE get back to me as soon as you can. Thanks so much!
I ran into a similar problem. Try going into the Document properties and uncheck the box that says "Remember personalized view for each webplayer user." That usually fixes it for me.
Thanks!

Lotus Notes : User form over email

I am going to organize a team event at my workplace.
I want to call in team nominations for the same.
However, to make the mail interesting, I want to design the mail in such a way that after the usual descriptive content, there should be a form and a button with various fields.
For e.g.
Team Name:
Team Leader:
Member1:
Member2:
Member3:
Submit Button
So, the receiver fills these fields with relevant details and on hitting the submit button, I receive a mail back with the nomination details.
Can someone please tell me if this is possible in Lotus Notes and if possible can someone guide me to a simple example somewhere on the web.
Please note that I will not be able to do Notes Scripting. So it there is some inbuild function to create text boxes or user forms similar to button functionality available, then I want to be guided with that.
Thanks for reading.
Yes, this is possible, and it is quite easy, if you know how to do it.
BUT: You will most probably not be able to do this, as you need the Domino Designer to achieve what you want. If you HAD the Domino Designer, your question would have been more concrete, so I guess you don't have it.
If you want to try it: Get The Domino Designer with the right version for your environment, install it and try working with it.
The most current version of designer can be found here.
The Domino Designer Help will be a good starting point for you, but without a training or at least somebody who shows you the basics, it will be not possible for you to achieve what you want.
Almost forgot: If your admins did not give you the appropriate rights in the Domino environment, then you will not be able to bring your code to the server, and that means it will be very hard to distribute the form to the users.

Hiding Settings Area based on security role in CRM 2011

I'm trying to hide the "Settings" area in CRM 2011 such that it is visible only to users
having a certain security role.
I have followed the suggestions mentioned in the following posts
https://community.dynamics.com/product/crm/f/117/t/28176.aspx
http://taoofcrm.com/2011/06/09/hiding-areas-in-the-sitemap/
and have created a custom entity as indicated in the posts.
None of my other security roles have "Read" on this entity. "System Customizer" by
default has "Read" on this entity.
I then included a Privilege tag like so
<Privilege Entity="Your custom entity name here" Privilege="Read" />
in each and every SubArea of Each <Group> that is defined for the "Settings" Area
under the <SiteMap> node and uploaded the solution containing this customization back to my org.
After importing the solution, I'm noticing that if I click on Settings --> Administration
the progress bar at the bottom of the browser stays busy for a long time and
I have also noticed an "Error on Page" message on the bottom left of the page.
Cicking on "Security Roles" or "Users" does the same thing.
Any help would be much appreciated.
OK I'll take a stab in the dark. I suspect you've messed up the SiteMap customisation. Roll back your changes and then go and install Tanguy's excellent SiteMap Editor tool from here. Do the same things you tried to do by hand and see if it works this time.
