I have installed CRM Developer Toolkit plugin for Visual Studio 2012.
I connected to an organization created at DEV server via CRM Explorer in Visual Studio 2012. Entities, Web Resources, and other artifacts are shown in this explorer.
I want to disconnect this CRM Explorer now.
Though I can connect to another Server via Tools-->Connect to Dynamics CRM 2011 Server, but I cant remove it and want to keep it blank, ensuring accidental deployment doesn't happen.
Please let me know in case there is some way to do so.
When I open the "Tools > Connect to Dynamics CRM Server..." menu option, clear any of the fields (usually I just swap http and https radio selections to auto clear), and try to connect, I lose my old connection.
The next time I open VS, it prompts me for the server connection details, though it is not necessary to restart VS in my experience.
This solution works for me
-Tools > Connect to Dynamics CRM Server..." . Then you can log again to your dynamics crm server
Restarting Visual Studio 2012 should disconnect any connected Organization in CRM Explorer. I just tried it on my dev machine and it when I opened the project again it gave me an error saying "No Organization has been specified".
So just save the solution and restart Visual Studio 2012.
Hope this helps.

I'm looking for some advice. I need to develop some custom workflow activities for a SharePoint 365 online solution. To that extent I do not have a local install of SharePoint 2013. I am using Visual Studio 2012, and have the office developer tools for VS 2012 installed.
When I try to create an empty project for SharePoint 2013, I get the error stating:
SharePoint not installed. The required version of SharePoint
foundation 2013 or SharePoint server 2013 is not installed on this
system. To develop SharePoint solutions or browse SharePoint
connections in server explorer, SharePoint must be installed on the
local system. Make sure that the local server referenced by the
SharePoint project exists
Now, I understand that for SharePoint projects in the past that a local install was required, but with this being online, I do not have that luxury.
Ideally I'd like to identify a way in which I can create an empty project without the need for said local install.
Further to this, I have been able to create an "Apps for SharePoint 2013" project, into which I can create a custom workflow activity. I'm working through some excellent blog posts on how to develop custom activities and it seems to be working file to a point.
What I am now struggling with is that VS2012 is supposed to create an .actions4 file which I can edit to reflect what the workflow activity requires etc. I do not have this file, nor do I understand how I get it.
I would also appreciate information on how I can deploy this custom workflow activity to SharePoint Online so that I can use it in SharePoint designer workflows.
Appreciate there is a lot of asks here, but appreciate any help that people can provide.
Many Thanks,
Grant
Hope this link will help you to create workflows in office 365 . you cannot degug but you can allow visual studio to think that SP is installed on your machine.

UPDATE: We've determined this to be the result of an issue in our CRM2013 environment, although we haven't been able to identify the issue. We installed a new CRM2013 instance, migrated our organization and solutions, and everything works as expected in the new CRM2013 environment.
ORIGINAL POST: I'm unable to connect to an on-premises instance of Microsoft Dynamics CRM 2013 using CRM Explorer in Visual Studio Pro 2012. When Connect to Dynamics CRM Server is selected from the Tools menu the connect dialog presents and operates normally until the Organization is selected, at which point the dialog closes before a Solution is selected and without selecting Ok or Cancel. No error message is presented.
I've tried starting VS with the /log switch but there are no error messages in the logfile.
I've successfully connected to a CRM 2011 on-premises instance, so the VS Studio install appears to be correct.
At this point I'm wondering if there's a bug in CRM 2013 or an issue with this particular install.
The Dynamics SDK is version 6.10, May 2014.
Visual Studio 2012 Version 11.0.061030.00 Update 4
Crm 2013 Service Pack 1 (SP1) (6.1.0.581) (DB 6.1.0.581)
I have updated visual studio 2012 last night, this was Visual Studio 2012 Update 4. It was working fine before but now i am unable to connect with tfs server. Please let me know what i am doing wrong?
This is the error:
TF400324: Team Foundation services are not available from server https://myServer.visualstudio.com/defaultcollection.
Technical information (for administrator):
Unable to connect to the remote server
try clearing your cache folder?
C:\Users\XXXX\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Team Foundation
TFS3 is VS2010, TFS4 is VS2012, TFS5 is VS2013
Stop all instances of Visual Studio.
Zip/Rar all the files as a backup, then delete all files except for the backup zip/rar.
Restart Visual Studio and it will recreate all the files and you should be able to connect as shown here:
I followed this steps to get rid of this issue:
Close all instances of Visual Studio.
Open the Task Manager and check if any TFS Services are running. Select each of them and click on End Process Tree.
Browse to the folder below and delete all the contents and folders in
%LocalAppData%\Microsoft\Team Foundation\4.0\Cache
and in
%LocalAppData%\Microsoft\Team Foundation\5.0\Cache
Restart Visual Studio and try triggering build.
If you are switching from one version of TFS to another, you may require repeating this solution again. If you are using older version of TFS, you may have to navigate to
%LocalAppData%\Microsoft\Team Foundation\
and find out the version folder instead of navigating directly. It would be
TFS3 if using VS2010, TFS4 if using VS2012, TFS5 if using VS2013.
Source: TF400324: Team Foundation Services are not available from server
In my case clearing of cache folders didn't work out.
What I also did is enabling SSL in IIS for Team Foundation Server.
Hopefully, StartSSL.com can offer it for free.
Step by step:
On server side:
Cleare cache folders like it described above;
Get the SSL following procedure described here;
Enable SSL for Team foundation server in IIS (netmgr);
Check if your TFS server is available over https (check link https://tfs.your-server, the certificate should be valid and page opened without any warnings);
On client side:
Remove all TFS servers in Visual Studio;
Add your TFS server connection with HTTPS (not HTTP).
Now you are able to work with VS-TFS link.
If the above methods don't work, and in the Output tab shows you have to contact the server administrator, then the TFS is actually down and you are disconnected to it.
I know this is an old thread but the problem still appeared in VS 2013 and TFS 2013.
In my case the IIS on the server side was not running. After starting it VS could immediate connect again.
I am working with VS2012 and TFS2012. Before I have worked with VS2010 and TFS2010 and my
credential was stored in the Credential Manager. Everything works fine and the shift to
TFS2012 and VS2012 was successful. The VS2012 used the old settings in the Credential Manager.
The Admin has now changed my access to TFS with new username and pswd. After deleting my old
credentials and login via VS2012 I get the Error
"TF30063: You are not authorized to access..."
Does anyone have an idea why this might be? Mabe are the permission on TFS2012 not correct?
The Admin said, that the permission are not changed and that they have the same settings as in
TFS2012.
Thanks in advance for every hint.
Best regards.
Most people probably get this error with visual studio. Example in vs 2013, team explorer tab - click on
Select Team Projects -> Select a Team Foundation Server
You should get prompted to login. If you had cancelled a login prompt, this is your chance to enter the credentials again.
For Visual Studio 2012
Team Explorer -> Connect to Team Projects (plug icon) -> Team Foundation Service -> Connect
For Visual Studio 2015
Team Explorer --> Connect to Team Projects (plug icon) --> Manage Connections --> Connect to Team Foundation Server
thanks to Assaf Stone for the hint, to set my comment to a answer, so that everybody can find the solution.
So if anybody run into this issue, I hope this will help you:
"After a while searching on internet I found the solution under following link
TFS 2012 – Issue: TF30063: You are not authorized to access and can’t trace permissions
A global deny on TFS was defined for my account and the deny takes precedence over any other permission."
Best regards.
My fix was "clear the package cache", it can be found here:
1 - Open VS
2 - Go to Tools-> Options
3 - Open "NuGet Package Manager" and select General
4 - Click in the button: "clear the package cache"
Cheers.
Simply delete whole cache in Internet Explorer did it for me.
I just received the "You are not authorized error" when trying to login via Visual Studio 2012. As #hfrmobile stated, going into Internet Explorer and clearing the entire cache worked perfectly.
You can also try restarting TFSTray, not Team Foundation Server Best Practices Analyzer.
You will have to cycle through all the TFSTray options that you may have available. In my case, I had to cycle TFSTray1 and TFSTray.
Windows (button) > type TFS > cycle throught the options, like the image below:
You could have issues with files that are locked. You must use your explorer to changed from locked to write.
These steps worked for me.
Close Visual Studio 2017
Open Visual Studio 2017 again
:-)
I have a c# application that publishes to a server using click-once, so our company clients can run it. I upgrade my visual studio from 2010 to 2012. every thing is great so far and clients can run the application normally after my publishes.
then I add a report viewer Item to my application and it runs on my pc well. but after publishing the clients face this error:
unable to install or run the application. the application requires that assembly microsoft.reportviewer.ProcessingObjectModel version 11.0.0.0 to be installed in your GAC.
what should I do now, I search a lot but cant find a solution.
thanks.
You will need to add the report viewer as a prerequisite. Here is a link to MSDN that describes what is needed.
