can the chromecast device be programmed also be used as a sender - google-cast

I wanted to know if it is possible to program one chromecast device to send video to another chromecast device acting like a receiver. I have browsed the API reference on the Google developer website and it doesn't seem to be supported, but also doesn't say it isn't supported.

This is not currently possible, and probably never will be. Chromecast devices don't "source' video, they only transfer from wifi to an HDMI output. it is possible to play the same stream on two different chromecast devices, but there is no way to synchronize them at the moment. In theory this is something the devices could support.

How can I receive Bluetooth audio signal and forward it to a Bluetooth speaker?

I need some help because I don´t know how to approach this challenge.
I want to build a device, that's receiving a Bluetooth audio signal and is forwarding it to a Bluetooth speaker. It´s also running some algorithms with the audio data and also simultaneously sending results via UDP to a different device.
I already thought about using two or three ESP32s, using one with an extra Bluetooth module, or searching for a whole different MCU with Bluetooth 5.0 or higher and Wifi 5GHz. But I don´t know approach the best is, or maybe a completely different one.
Some context, why we want to do it:
We want to create a real-time light show, based on the current playing song. It is already working for PC, but also want to make it accessible for phone users. Sadly there is no way to capture the internal audio on iPhone or Android phones. Our Idea to make the music sync with the phone possible is that you are connected with the phone via Bluetooth to our "sync box" which is then connected to the speaker via Bluetooth or AUX. The "sync box" is running our algorithms for creating the light shows and then sending the data to the microcontrollers from the light strips.
So maybe you have an idea how we can sync the lights to the music completely differently or how I can approach the challenge with Bluetooth.

Why does Chromecast v2 have Bluetooth and how do I connect with it?

My Chromecast v2 shows up as an undefined Bluetooth device. Attempts to connect, however, have not been successful. This is most probably due to a secret pairing PIN.
Oddly, nowhere can I find documentation of this feature. Why wouldn't Google mention Bluetooth connectivity?
Can anyone explain what Chromecast uses Bluetooth for and how to connect with it? Eventually, I'd like to connect it with a Bluetooth audio receiver on my HiFi... (I know about external Bluetooth transmitters, I'd like to use the internal one, however, if possible.)
That is for internal use, for example setup, etc and doesn't have any profiles that can be useful to developers, nor is intended to be used by developers.

Is ChromeCast only for Video?

Can ChromeCast and/or the Google Cast protocol run apps that are not video?
In other words, is it possible to create an html5 app that runs on the ChromeCast and controlled by the smartphone/tablet?
Yes, the receiver is an arbitrary HTML5 application. Of course, you should make sure it's suitable to be displayed on a TV with no attached keyboard and mouse, etc.

Build own Chromecast device

The Chromecast device is a "receiver device [that] runs a scaled-down Chrome browser with a receiver application". Can I download and install this receiver app on a chrome browser for example on my Windows notebook?

The current Chromecast protocol is a completely different one from the original DIAL based protocol. Right now, only YouTube still uses the old protocol, which chromecast maintains its backward compatibility.
The discovery is mDNS, exactly same as Apple TV bonjour protocol.
The most difficult part is device authentication, the sender and the receiver perform handshakes by exchanging keys and certificates in a way extremely difficult to crack. AppleTV does the same using FairPlay encryption.
The next difficult part is the mirroring protocol, which is also very complicated, need to deal with packet splits, packet retransmissions. Overall, chromecast mirroring protocol is well designed, better than miracast, better than AirPlay mirroring (I have also implemented both of them, so I know what I am talking about).
When I get chances, will write more here.
The chromecast device works using the DIAL protocol. It is completely possible to emulate this protocol using some simple code to listen on the multicast group for discovery and then handle the HTTP requests to launch applications. It is then the launched application that communicates with the casting device, I believe using the RAMP protocol.
Luckily for us the applications that the chromecast device uses are mostly web applications meaning our device emulator just needs to launch a web browser and point it to a specific url when it receives an application request.
For example the youtube app, after device discovery and establishing where the applications are located (part of DIAL). Will send a HTTP POST request containing a pairing key to /<apps url>/YouTube. All the emulating device needs to do now is open https://www.youtube.com/tv?<pairing key> in a browser window. From here, I believe, communication for controlling the youtube app is not sent through the casting device but through the open tabs on the casting device and the emulator.
This is my understanding of how the chromecast device works and specifically the youtube app from looking at https://github.com/dz0ny/leapcast which is a python emulator that has youtube and google music working.
Google is in progress of open sourcing some part of the chrome cast.

Record audio from various internal devices in Android (via undocumented API)

I was wondering whether it is possible to capture audio data from other sources like the system out, FM radio, bluetooth headset, etc. I'm particularly interested in capturing audio from the FM radio and already investigated all possibilities including trying to sniff the raw bluetooth communication between the phone and the radio device with no luck. It's too bad Android only allows recording audio from the MIC.
I've looked at the Android source code and couldn't find a backdoor to allow me to do that without rooting the device. Do you, at least, have any idea how to use other devices (maybe access somehow /dev/audio) say via NDK or even better - Java (maybe Reflection?) to trick the system to capture the audio stream from say, the FM radio. (in my case I'm trying to develop the app for the HTC Desire)
PS. And for those of you who are against using undocumented APIs, please don't post here - I'm writing an app that will be for my personal use or even if I ever publish it I will warn the user of possible incompatibilities.
I've spent quite some time deciphering the audio stack, and I think you may try to hijack libaudio. You'll have trouble speaking directly to the hardware (/dev/*) because many devices use proprietary audio drivers. There's no rule in this regard.
However, the audio hardware abstraction layer (HAL) provided by /system/lib/libaudio.so should expose the API described at http://source.android.com/porting/audio.html
The Android system, and especially audioflinger, uses this libaudio HAL to find available devices, deal with routing, and of course to read/write PCM data.
So, you could hijack the interaction between audioflinger and libaudio, by renaming the later, and providing your own libaudio which decorates the real one. Doing so, you should be able to log what happens and very possibly intercept FM radio output, provided that this is not directly handled by the hardware.
Of course, all this requires rooting. Please comment if you manage to do this, that interests me.
