I have a request of a customer who wants his dashboards to be send weekly/daily to him via E-mail (PDF or IMAGE). I have searched for hours to find a decent solution, but I can’t seem to find one. This should work on “CRM Online” and on “IFD”.
I have found some code that can take a snapshot of a Webpage, but there I have the “Log-In” problems. Each time you execute the page, you see a page with the “MICROSOFT PASSPORT” or “ADFS” sign in box. I tried the “wkhtmltopdf”-method and “WebBrowser”-method and 3rd party tools.
There is also no “JavaScript” or “JQuery” that is able to generate screenshots from the current page. I’ve created a Webresource in CRM 2011 with an iFrame and in that iFrame I’m able to show the “Dashboard”. If I would be able to take a snapshot of that page, I could create an attachment and put in the CRM.
I think I’m on the right way of doing this, but I can’t seem to get over the last difficulties. I hope someone here on the forum already has done something like that. I’m almost sure it must be possible, because a partner of us was able to take a screenshot of the Dashboard and put it in their application. Of course they don’t want to share that piece of code with me.
I don't believe there is a way to possibly implement the functionality requested with out some major "hacks" that would be brittle and most likely break with any type of CRM/Browser update. I would work with the customer and advise them that what they are asking really doesn't make sense from a cost / maintenance standpoint. I'd try to see if they'd be willing to live with these work arounds:
Send a weekly e-mail with a link to CRM. Downside is the user has to be able to have rights to login and see the data, but it would be super easy.
Create custom reports that recreate the dashboard data. You should be able to schedule e-mails for this through SSRS
Good luck!

We used to have a legacy PHP Site as an internal blog site but have since recreated the site in SharePoint. The native SharePoint reporting gives us almost everything we need but our admins need a single place/page to view all the comments from every modern page/news post.
Is there a way I can pull all the comments and show them in a list? I know there's an API I can use but I was hoping there would be an easier way instead of developing an spfx webpart. Ideally a list with the page/news post title, the comment, who posted it, when it was posted and a link to the article would be ideal.
Good day beautiful people,
Overall description
I have been assigned to a project where recruiters are using excel file to gather information about new joiners, leavers and people changing positions. Later on it is uploaded to SharePoint where this data is connected to some other files, dashboards and so on. There is also a copy of it, in InfoPath, but the program is working terribly wrong so personally for me this is no-go zone.
My goal
I would like to make this more automated and user friendly, so that's why I wanted to move it to the SharePoint. I want users to have one page, subpage, app to fill up necessary data, edit it if needed and then publish to the SharePoint.
Problem
I have visited tens of pages how to create SharePoint form without InfoPath, how to create SP form with PowerApps but most of these articles provides nothing useful. Just brief overview and I am not that power user of SP to get this done in no time.
Question
Is there a way, that I can make this working within accepted mater of time (few days) so the end result will be exactly what I need?
Make some lists in SharePoint with the columns they need, use that as your data source. Link your PowerApps application to that source, et voila. Recruitment can now fill their data in with what you need, and via Power Automate you can process the data and send it to the correct locations afterwards.
We've a real pain in our project where we ask a team of 50 resources to update a single excel sheet that's placed in a network location and when someone tries to update the data, it's locked by somebody else and they don't update it. So, they end up not updating the data.
I'm looking for an alternate solution like
creating a form in sharepoint/ jira - no sharepoint/ jira developer
getting data in mail - too tedious and lots of rework
creating a custom form and hosting it in local server - might work - any templates on this?
Or, any alternates? I'm out of ideas.
easiest thing would be to create a simple SharePoint-List. All Users can update their data at the same time and the Input-Form will be there automatically. (Can also be exported to Excel)
If you are on SharePoint-Online you could also have a look at Windows Form which provide more flexibility in creating the form.
And if you need even more capabilities you can have a look at PowerApps
I am going to organize a team event at my workplace.
I want to call in team nominations for the same.
However, to make the mail interesting, I want to design the mail in such a way that after the usual descriptive content, there should be a form and a button with various fields.
For e.g.
Team Name:
Team Leader:
Member1:
Member2:
Member3:
Submit Button
So, the receiver fills these fields with relevant details and on hitting the submit button, I receive a mail back with the nomination details.
Can someone please tell me if this is possible in Lotus Notes and if possible can someone guide me to a simple example somewhere on the web.
Please note that I will not be able to do Notes Scripting. So it there is some inbuild function to create text boxes or user forms similar to button functionality available, then I want to be guided with that.
Thanks for reading.
Yes, this is possible, and it is quite easy, if you know how to do it.
BUT: You will most probably not be able to do this, as you need the Domino Designer to achieve what you want. If you HAD the Domino Designer, your question would have been more concrete, so I guess you don't have it.
If you want to try it: Get The Domino Designer with the right version for your environment, install it and try working with it.
The most current version of designer can be found here.
The Domino Designer Help will be a good starting point for you, but without a training or at least somebody who shows you the basics, it will be not possible for you to achieve what you want.
Almost forgot: If your admins did not give you the appropriate rights in the Domino environment, then you will not be able to bring your code to the server, and that means it will be very hard to distribute the form to the users.
We have created some views that show activities assigned either to the current user OR any of the user's teams. The filtering was fairly simple:
Related Activity Parties
- Party equals current user
OR
- Party equals current user's teams
This works great if the user is a member of any team that's not the default. However, if the user is not a member of any team, the view throws an ugly error and doesn't show anything. The error log says "user is not a member of any teams".
I've been playing around with filters, and there seem to be alternative ways to get something similar, but nothing is quite exactly the same. If only there was more flexibility to use the OR and AND groupings.
So, has anyone run into similar issues? I'm thinking about editing the view XML directly, because then I can or/and filters freely and I'd be able to get exactly what I want. However, I'm not sure how well that all works and how would it look if you tried to edit the view in CRM after it was changed directly in XML.
I can confirm for you that this is an issue in CRM 2011 (still an issue as of Rollup 14.) Wish I had an easy solution. Lazy way around it is to create a do-nothing team, with no security role assigned, and just put every user in it. This is a work-around, not a solution, but it will make the issue go away. Not 'elegant' but it works.
The alternative, as you suggest in your post, is writing custom FetchXML for each query you need this on but that defeats much of the benefit of the Advanced Find Query tool and makes long term maintenance and administration more difficult.
