i'm struggling with the microsoft's node.js sql client.
I've installed it, without any errors using the guide at the github page, and everything works perfect locally. but when i use git to push it to azure, i get the error:
Native sqlserver module not found. Did you remember to run node-gyp configure build?
Application has thrown an uncaught exception and is terminated:
Error: Unable to load shared library C:\DWASFiles\Sites\bid110\VirtualDirectory0\site\wwwroot\node_modules\msnodesql\build\Release\sqlserver.node
I've also looked at this guide, even though some parts is outdated. I've also cheked that all the files are uploaded to the server. the node_modules/msnodesql and node_modules\msnodesql\build\Release\ folders with all its subfolders are there as well.
Any ideas what I might be doing wrong here?
Please check if your msnodesql is x86 or x64. If your local machine was x64 with x64 Python, and you installed msnodesql through npm install msnodesql then you should get a x64 version. But on Windows Azure Web Site your application will be running in x86, so you might need to a x86 version of msnodesql. You can install through NPM from a x86 machine, or you can download the compiled version at http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=29995
I also have a blog post about this hope that helps. http://blogs.shaunxu.me/archive/2012/09/18/node.js-adventure---when-node.js-meets-windows-azure.aspx

I had been trying to resolve this issue and had tried running the app via rosetta terminal, but same issue persists. I tried installing the sharp package globally but that to did not help.
Here is a snippet of the error :-
I think the issue is something related to Sharp package specific for the arm architecture
I was trying to setup a repo on my system locally and simply ran yarn dev. I expected the server to start but the same error keeps coming again and again .
I think your problem is related to this conversation: https://github.com/lovell/sharp/pull/3514
Specifically "On an M1/M2 based machine, the dylib files provided by a globally-installed vips (via Homebrew or otherwise) will be ARM64, therefore we cannot use these when running Node.js under x64 emulation as there will be a runtime conflict."
node-v8.12.0-x64.msi Using this file downloaded from the website, I am installing Node js on my windows 64 bit. Home Personal computer.
I do have Java installed.
UNable to install node js as there is some missing DLL which I am not understanding.
Kindly please help.

According to similar problems encountered on the web, this error may come from different reasons:
Windows is not updated.
Not full access to the folder: C:\Users\\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Windows\ or C:\Users\\AppData\Local\Temp.
Please ensure those two points are ok...
After working with Oracle databases and Apex for many years, I want to get some knowledge about Oracle forms & reports, because they are still quite widely used.
I've never seen Oracle forms & reports, so I want to create a development installation for learning purposes. Unfortunately installing Oracle forms seems a bit more tedious than I expected and I'm a bit stuck.
Windows installation
I first tried installing Oracle 12c (from http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/developer-tools/forms/downloads/index.html) on windows 7 x64. I installed the "Standalone forms builder", because when I chose "Forms and reports deployment", I got this error:
After installation I tried to start frmbld.exe, but immediately got this error:
FRM-91135: fatal error: message file D:\oracle\client\user123\product\12.1.0\client_1\forms\mesg\fmcus.msb not found
My oracle client is installed in that directory, but the mentioned file is certainty not there.
linux installation
Googling around I did not find any solution for this problem, so i decided to switch to a Linux virtual box machine. I installed Oracle linux x64 and then installed with a download from the same page again.
Once more I could only choose "Standalone forms builder", when I chose "Forms and reports deployment" I got exactly the same error as on windows. The installation ran successful.
After installation I tried to start formbuilder, this time I was presented this error:
./frmbld: error while loading shared libraries: libXm.so.3: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory
So now I'm a bit stuck. My questions are:
Am I going the right way with the way I'm trying to install Oracle forms? or is there a better / easier way?
Do I need a "Forms and reports deployment" to be able to experiment with Oracle forms? or is the standalone installation the right way to go?
Are there any pre-installed virtual machines available for this? (I googled but couldn't find anything.)
Do I need a running Oracle database to be able to experiment with Oracle forms?
Linux installation:
Yes you are going the correct path installing Forms/Reports. There is no easier install method (Oracle does not have a prebuilt VM with Forms/Reports).
You will require an Oracle database to connect to.
To fix the linux error you will need to install additional OS packages, probably motif - you can run (to find the packages required): yum whatprovides libXm*
I have installed Forms Builder 12c (standalone install) on Fedora and it is working correctly.
The windows error might be related to you OS PATH ENV - if you have any other Oracle products installed, the PATH order may need to be changed, put the Forms related paths at the beginning.
Unfortunately I was unable to get it properly working with my previous attempts. In the end I restarted an installed a windows 10 x64 virtual machine, after which i followed these excellent video's to get everything working: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4tgtHPJGc7o
I'm trying to install Sails.JS 0.11.0 to my Windows 7 laptop (intel cpu) but receive an error when npm tries to build it. The error is pasted at the end of this message.
I'm using Node 0.10.38 (required for my use of the OracleDB module, so I can't upgrade to version 12 yet).
My laptop has Visual Studio 2013 Express Desktop which is used to compile.
The Sails npm install completes using npm -g list sails, but with errors, so I worry it's not properly installed.
So far, I've reboot my computer, wiped its temp files, and did everything I can think of. Any suggestions? I can't find any compatibility info on the Sails site (maybe I need to install an older version of Sails?).
The link-cvtres.write.[ID].tlog file referenced below seems to exist in that directory (which is built on the fly)... at least, a version of the file with a "1" in place of the "[ID]" is there.
Any help is appreciated.

I am trying to install nodetime module to profile my nodejs app..
When i run > npm install nodetime
the files are downloaded. but when node-gyp rebuild runs.
I get the following error.
Command failed: CreateProcessW: Access is denied
The same thing happens, when i try to download v8-profiler.
Nodejs ver: 0.8.15
node-gyp: 0.7.1
I have tried this on both my dev machine that runs window 7 and on windows server 2008 where this app will be hosted..
Any help is appreciated. Please let me know if more explanation is required
Update:
Sorry I had ignored this post for a while.. Had a chat with someone I assume is the author of nodetime and here are the things required for nodetime to run on Windows.
Python version 2.7
If on windows the PATH environment variable for python should include python.exe Eg: C:\Python27\Python.exe
It requires CPP compilers that come with Visual C++ Express edition and Windows 7 64-bit SDK (SDK compiler is required for 64-bit version of nodejs).
Hope this helps.
Try just set PATH=C:\Python27;%PATH%
DO NOT set PYTHON variable (check that its not set on your machine).
I had incorrectly set the PYTHON variable some time ago - which then caused me this headache for ages until I managed to figure out what was wrong.
