Moving my project from my local (osx) development to (debian) production put's me in some erros. Everything works wel on my local dev but on the debian two things goes wrong.
My layout.phtml won't render (no error) and I get this error for partial loops.
Paste of error output:

Thanks! :)

As Error states.
"Rows as part of this DataSource, with type object cannot be cast to an array".
You must have moved your database with structure only option without data. In your code somewhere, you have not place empty checks to verify dataset or records. I think it is trying to caste empty object into array....
You need to debug your application either using XDebug which provides step-by-step debugging, and can be used with eclipse PDT, netbeans and even vim.
Or
use old fashioned way
echo "programing working to till this line";
exit();

I've been trying for hours, but can't build and use Light Table. Every time I try to run deploy/LightTable, it hangs on a screen that simply says "Light Table". I receive this error*:
[14381:0519/204037:INFO:CONSOLE(27860)] "Uncaught TypeError: Cannot read property 'thread_STAR_' of undefined", source: file:///home/zaz/Desktop/LightTable/builds/lighttable-0.8.0-linux/resources/app/core/node_modules/lighttable/bootstrap.js (27860)
Here's what I've tried:
git clone https://github.com/LightTable/LightTable.git
cd LightTable
bash linux_deps.sh
./deploy/LightTable # creates frozen window, throws the error above
cd deploy
./LightTable # creates frozen window, throws the error above
./ltbin # creates frozen window, throws the error above
I also tried similar things after checking out the atom-shell branch and the 0.7.2 tag (and cleaning up all the files from the previous build). Each time, I received the error above.
Does anyone know what's going on here?
Has Light Table been completely abandoned? It seems the last commit was in March.
* Depending on the version I was trying to run, I also received other errors, but I don't think they're relevant (the error above was the only one that appeared for all versions):
[18593:0519/222845:INFO:gpu_info_collector_x11.cc(80)] NVCtrl extension does not exist.
[18593:0519/222845:ERROR:browser_main_loop.cc(226)] Gdk: gdk_window_set_icon_list: icons too large

A year later (question was written in May 2015, now is June 2016), LightTable 0.8.1 is out, and I tried both Linux binary and cloned it from git, and it works fine.
For complete info, I'm using also Atom, and although I had not problems with "Cannot read property 'something' of undefined"" in Atom core, I met such problems in two or three Atom packages.
Both editors are based on same electron platform, LightTable is beautiful eye candy with quite revolutionary REPL integration, but it needs more polish to be usable to same extent as Atom.
For example, LightTable does not have workspace saving by default, that is done via plugin. That's ridiculous.
But although Atom looks so nice and powerful compared to simple editors, with realy huuuge number of available packages/plugins, LightTable is more elegant.
As I don't want to start new semi-religious war Atom vs LightTable resembling vi-vs-emacs, I'll stop here. :)
I can't replicate your problems in LightTable v0.8.1, so I think that answers this question. If not, please add errors you get with v0.8.1.
For info about releases, please check: https://github.com/LightTable/LightTable/releases
I keep getting this error in the dev environment - 'A SafeHandle or CriticalHandle of type 'System.Data.SqlServerCe.HasSafeHandle' failed to properly release the handle with value ...."
It is in a VS 2012 Winforms application and only seems to happen if a particular piece of code is run at some point. The error shows after the form is closed, but I can't understand why. It only happens in the dev environment and seems to be OK in the compiled version, but I don't want to just ignore it.
The error seems to be caused by this line of code, although weirdly at this point in time I have not opened a connection to the SQL ce database and the directory it is searching in does not have the SQL ce database in it. It is mearly reading in txt files that match a pattern
string[] fileNames = Directory.GetFiles(importDirectory, "BucketHistory*.txt")
I'll do some more digging tomorrow, it's late now, and I have no idea what is causing it.
Any pointers ??!
Turns out I was having a bit of brain fade yesterday. Been working too long hours !
For anyone interested, the problem was that I was opening a connection, then copying the file and running a shrink whilst the connection was still open. It had nothing to do with that line of code.
I would have expected the copy to have thrown an exception, but it didn't appear to. Oh, and opening another connection inside the using statement of the first one. Sigh.
I have followed Lee Brimelow's tutorials (part 1, part 2), but somehow my project doesn't work as expected.
Currently, publishing "src/Secondary.as" to "www/assets/swf/secondary.swf" works properly, however when trying to run "src/Main.as", an error shows up:
Exception fault: TypeError: Error #1007: Instantiation attempted on a non-constructor.
at Main/init()[/Volumes/DOCUMENTS/Tests/AS3/test-workers/src/Main.as:52]
at Main()[/Volumes/DOCUMENTS/Tests/AS3/test-workers/src/Main.as:32]
If anybody has time, you can look at my code on Github and maybe see where I screwed up? Thanks a bunch!
As your error message says: the problem raised in Line 52 in your Main.init()method. What you try to do there is to create a new instance of SecondarySWF. I would say that your embedment of Secondary class into SecondarySWF doesn't work properly, so it is not available in your init-method. You should set a breakpoint at the first line of your init-method and when the debugger reaches this point check what's in SecondarySWF. I expect that there's nothing in that variable, so what your new SecondarySWF() then means actually is new null().
Because you embed your secondary.swf with a MIME-type specified the Flex compiler ignores it because it is unable to detect the actual type of data in the loaded file. I found this post on Adobe's cookbook page that explains what you have to do in addition to adding the file using [Embed]. Hope this will fit your needs.
I have an app that has been running fine on the iPhone simulator for some time. Recently, I decided I wanted to re-use the data model and related classes in another project - so I dragged them from this project window to the other then told Xcode not to copy, just to make references. At first this didn't work so I jumped through a number of hoops to try to fix it (I may be asking more about that in another post). After all this, I re-compiled and tried to run the original app -- and it's not working any more. On further investigation, I discovered that when I re-compile the original app, I end up with a bundle that contains a .momd package but it contains only a Versioninfo.plist file - no .mom file, no .omo file like I'm expecting to see. I don't recall making any changes to the original app. I don't get any warnings. I just get an incomplete .momd package (and, not surprisingly, my app now crashes).
What's going on here?
BTW, the app now crashes with this message:
Terminating app due to uncaught exception 'NSInvalidArgumentException', reason: '* -[__NSArrayM insertObject:atIndex:]: object cannot be nil'
Which I get when executing this line of code:
self.productRegistry = [[UIManagedDocument alloc] initWithFileURL:self.productRegistryURL];
I figured this out by looking more closely at the file locations in the project directory using Finder. In the Xcode window, everything looks normal but in the actual project directory I found that the .datamodeld package had ended up at the top level of the project directory -- at the same level as the project package itself. Xcode apparently did not like this but unfortunately it did not complain -- it just created a partial build output. Once I moved the .datamodeld package into the same folder as the rest of the project's code, everything worked just fine.
This would appear to be just a quirk. I would expect that Xcode would either see that all is well and build correctly OR it would see that things weren't quite as they should be and fail. In this case, it did not build correctly but was silent about it.
Hope this answer helps someone else someday.
I'm developing a COM server to be used from Excel VBA. When I update the server (edit code, unregister, re-register) Excel seems to carry on using the original version of the COM server, not the updated version. The only way I have found to get it to use the updated version is to close and re-open Excel, which gets a bit irritating. Is there a way to force Excel to use the newly registered version (maybe some kind of "clear cache" option)?
More details:
The server is being developed in Python using win32com.
In VBA I'm doing something like:
set obj=CreateObject("Foo.Bar")
obj.baz()
Where Foo.Bar is the COM server I have registered in the registry.
If I unregister the server then run the VBA code, I get a "can't create object" error from VBA, so it must realise that something is going on. But once I reregister it picks up the old version.
Any hints appreciated!
Thanks,
Andy
I've found a solution to my problem - the general idea is to set things up so that the main COM server class dynamically loads the rest of the COM server code when it is called. So in Python I've created a COM server class that looks something like:
import main_code
class COMInterface:
_public_methods_ = [ 'method1' ]
_reg_progid_ = "My.Test"
_reg_clsid_ = "{D6AA2A12-A5CE-4B6C-8603-7952B711728B}"
def methods(self, input1,input2,input3):
# force python to reload the code that does the actual work
reload(main_code)
return main_code.Runner().go(input1,input2,input3)
The main_code module contains the code that does the actual work and is reloaded each time the COM method is called. This works as long as the inputs don't change. There will presumably be a runtime penalty for this, so might want to remove the reload for the final version, but it works for development purposes.
Just a suggestion, have you tried to Unload the object? Maybe create a button in your excel spredsheat that force to unload the object.
I hope it helps
