Multipart htaccess redirect - .htaccess

Hey guys I'm having a bit of trouble getting my htaccess to redirect properly and was hoping for some help.
I'm expecting DEV-domain.com?CampID=AB12345 to redirect to
http://DEV-www.domain.com/landing/external-marketing/direct-mail/AB?CampId=AB12345
RewriteCond %{HTTP_HOST} ^DEV-(www\.)?domain\.com [NC]
RewriteCond %{QUERY_STRING} ^CampID=
RewriteRule (\w{2})(\w{5})$ http://DEV-www\.domain\.com/landing/external-marketing/direct-mail/$1?CampId=$1$2 [R=301,L]
Unfortunetly I can't get it working for some reason?

Because the RewriteRule matching is meant for the url path, not query strings. Try this:
RewriteCond %{HTTP_HOST} ^DEV-(www\.)?domain\.com [NC]
RewriteCond %{QUERY_STRING} ^CampID=(\w{2})(\w{5})
RewriteRule .* http://DEV-www.domain.com/landing/external-marketing/direct-mail/%1?CampId=%1%2 [R=301,L]
also you don't need to escape dots . in the target url, only in matching patterns. And be aware that if you decide to make your target url CampID instead of CampId, you need to put in another condition:
RewriteCond %{REQUEST_URI} !^/landing/external-marketing/direct-mail/
to avoid an infinite redirect as a target with CampID would match your RewriteCond rule...

Remove parenthesis from htaccess (Helicon Ape)

I'm using Helicon Ape on a Windows Server to create htaccess files.
Originally, part of a larger set of conditions, I had this condition set to return 403 if the url contained (). However it is causing false positives in case of mailchimp tracking codes that end up getting wrapped in ()
RewriteCond %{QUERY_STRING} ^.*(\[|\]|\(|\)|<|>).* [NC,OR]
For example in the below URL
http://domain.com/page/11/page-name?ct=t(Newsletter_Tracking)
As an alternative, I was attempting to remove the parenthesis and redirect to a "cleaned version".
I tried a few different things that I found in SO but none worked.
So far the closest thing that I could get to working is this:
RewriteCond %{REQUEST_URI} [\(\)]+ [OR]
RewriteCond %{QUERY_STRING} [\(\)]+
RewriteRule ^(.*)[\(]+([^\)]*)[\)]+(.*)$ $1$2$3 [R=301,L]
The problem with the above code is that works if the () were in the URL but not the query string. It doesn't redirect and clean the querystring.
So this would work:
http://domain.com/page/11/pag(e-name)
but this wouldn't:
http://domain.com/page/11/page-name?ct=t(Newsletter_Tracking)
Your assistance is appreciated
Thank You.
You can use the following rule :
RewriteCond %{THE_REQUEST} /page/11/page-name\?ct=t\(Newsletter_Tracking\)\sHTTP [NC]
RewriteRule ^ %{REQUEST_URI}? [L,R]
If the querystring is dynamic, try:
RewriteCond %{THE_REQUEST} /page/11/page-name\?ct=.+\(.+\)\sHTTP [NC]
RewriteRule ^ %{REQUEST_URI}? [L,R]
Using #starkeen 's example, I was able to create a working solution.
This code handles the Query String separate from the URL. It cleans the URL but removes the query string.
RewriteCond %{REQUEST_URI} [\(\)]+
RewriteRule ^(.*)[\(]+([^\)]*)[\)]+(.*)$ $1$2$3 [R=301,L]
RewriteCond %{QUERY_STRING} [\(\)]+
RewriteRule ^ %{REQUEST_URI}? [R=301,L]

Cut off parameter from redirect in htaccess

This silent redirect in htaccess:
RewriteCond %{QUERY_STRING} ^pic_id=(\d+)$ [NC]
RewriteRule ^album_showpage\.php$ /gallery/image_page.php?image_id=%1 [L]
redirect a url that looks like:
example.com/album_showpage.php?pic_id=1906
to:
example.com/gallery/image_page.php?image_id=1906
that works great. But when the URL has a parameter like:
album_showpage.php?pic_id=1906&mode=prev
or
album_showpage.php?pic_id=1906&mode=next
the redirect wont work.
Question: How to cut of any parameter after pic_id=1906
thank you
You need match against the rest of the query string.
RewriteCond %{QUERY_STRING} ^pic_id=(\d+)(&.*)?$ [NC]
RewriteRule ^album_showpage\.php$ /gallery/image_page.php?image_id=%1%2 [L]
If you don't want the mode=prev stuff to be included in the rule's target, then you can simply remove the $ instead of attempting to match against it:
RewriteCond %{QUERY_STRING} ^pic_id=(\d+) [NC]
RewriteRule ^album_showpage\.php$ /gallery/image_page.php?image_id=%1 [L]

Redirect a single dynamic URL with Apache .htaccess to temporary page

Here is what I need to redirect to a temporary HTML page:
http://www.domain1.com/?Itemid=230
should get redirected to:
http://www.domain2.com/temoporary-solution.html
Here is what I came up with, just not sure if it will cause any issues between the rest of the .htaccess rules (this is the first rule):
RewriteCond %{HTTP_HOST} ^www\.domain1\.com$ [NC]
RewriteCond %{QUERY_STRING} ^Itemid=230$ [NC]
RewriteRule ^$ http://domain2.com/temoporary-solution.html [R=302,NE,NC,L]
Your rule should work fine. Just append ? at the end of target URI to strip off existing query string:
RewriteEngine On
RewriteCond %{HTTP_HOST} ^(www\.)?domain1\.com$ [NC]
RewriteCond %{QUERY_STRING} ^Itemid=230$ [NC]
RewriteRule ^$ http://domain2.com/temoporary-solution.html? [R=302,L]
Those rules are fine. The conditions are pretty strict so as long as it's the first rule, it won't break anything else.

.htaccess remove specific get parameter from url

Hello I have been searching the web for an answer to this but I can not find it. I am looking to use htaccess to strip a specific parameter from the url.
For example, I have the following urls:
www.mysite.com/product.php?product_id=123&session=sdfs98d7fs9f8d7
www.mysite.com/anotherurl.php?session=12312341341&someotherparam=123
I would need them to 301 redirect to:
www.mysite.com/product.php?product_id=123
www.mysite.com/anotherurl.php?someotherparam=123
Note the urls above are just examples. Ill need the session param removed from any and all urls no matter how many params are part of the url or where session is located.
I think I need a way to the url string up to session=blah and the url string after session=blah, then combine both parts and redirect to the new url.
Any help is greatly appreciated, thanks.
UPDATED
In short, what you want is just to remove the key-value pair session=xx from the query.
Here is an option:
RewriteEngine On
RewriteBase /
RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} !-f
RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} !-d
RewriteCond %{QUERY_STRING} (.*)?&?session=[^&]+&?(.*)? [NC]
RewriteCond %{REQUEST_URI} /(.*)
RewriteRule .* %3?%1%2? [R=301,L]
I found a solution on another site
# case: leading and trailing parameters
RewriteCond %{QUERY_STRING} ^(.+)&session=[0-9a-z]+&(.+)$ [NC]
RewriteRule (.*) /$1?%1&%2 [R=301,L]
# case: leading-only, trailing-only or no additional parameters
RewriteCond %{QUERY_STRING} ^(.+)&session=[0-9a-z]+$|^osCsid=[0-9a-z]+&?(.*)$ [NC]
RewriteRule (.*) /$1?%1 [R=301,L]
not tested, but should work:
RewriteCond %{QUERY_STRING} product_id=([0-9]+)
RewriteRule .* product.php?product_id=%1

htaccess issue redirecting certain urls

I have a bunch of .htaccess rules that follow this format
RewriteCond %{HTTP_HOST} ^www.lazygamer\.co.za$ [NC]
RewriteRule ^(.*)$ http://www.lazygamer.net/$1 [R=301,L]
Now I need to put in a new rule to include a category string in my URL and was given this code
RewriteRule ^/([^/]+)/$ /category/$1/ [R]
But it's not being fired for some reason, can someone please show me how to change the above string to match the rule further up.. so I check for some condition before executing the rule?
I only need this rule to fire if the url is in the format http://www.lazygamer.net/post-name/ and not when the url is in the format http://www.lazygamer.net/category/post-name/
RewriteCond %{REQUEST_URI} !^/category/.*$
RewriteRule ^([^/]+)/ /category/$1/ [R]
My htaccess file now looks like this and solves the problem
RewriteCond %{HTTP_HOST} !^images.lazygamer\.net$ [NC]
RewriteCond %{REQUEST_URI} !^/(wp-content|wp-admin|wp-includes|fixed|contact-details|advertise|about|category|submission|images|ps3|xbox-360|wii|other-news|video).*$
RewriteCond %{REQUEST_URI} !^\/$
RewriteRule ^(.*)$ http://www.lazygamer.net/fixed/$1 [R=301,L]
The second last line ignore the root folder which kept me up all night...
