I'm running vagrant with an Ubuntu server 10.04 LTS box. The local folder on my Mac is mounted with NFS and all works fine except for one thing.
I'm developing a PHP project which uses Twig as template system but whenever I modify a template on my Mac and save it, it required two refreshes before Twig can load the template. The first refresh i'm getting an exception telling me that the file cannot be found. the second refresh is fine and the template loads just fine.
When switching back from NFS to the default VirtualBox filesystem all is fine but my dev site become terribly slow, almost to the point it's unworkable.
Anyone has an idea in what direction to look or has a clear solution?

All my pictures and important info got deleted, alon with my exodus wallet recovery phrase and everything!! Is there a way i could get those data back??
If you didn't explicitly wipe out the drives, you can still get your stuff. The OS just lost track of where everything is.
If you load a Windows image to a stick and boot from it, you will probably find your files.
Althoght they wont be inside the Documents folder or whatever default folders windows comes with. You will have to get into your drive and search for the folder. The path will probably under users or something.

I installed Parrot Security os-4.8 twice on virtualbox on my MacBook Air (2015), and after successful installation with no errors (both times), after rebooting virtualbox, again I get the option to use it as live or install with other options that appears as if the OS is not installed.
I checked the vdi and it appears to be of 6gb in size(I think the OS is still there).
Any suggestions? Thanks in advance.(sorry for bad English)
It sounds like you did not download the Virtual Image File ( OVA File)
( Your English is great BTW )
go to - https://parrotlinux.org/download/
Next -Go to the Virtual Tab
Download This Image
Click on the OVA file after download to import into Virtual Box
IMPORTANT NOTE - the default password and super user password for this machines image is - toor

I have a Vbox server running Centos 6.5 32bit, and I have it set as a dev server for some web apps I'm working on.
Guest Additions was working fine until there were some updates in the CentOS system. Upon reboot, guest additions does not work. The disc shows on the desktop, and I choose auto run when it comes up, but all it does is have a window popup and disappear very clickly (within the blink of an eye), and thats it. No error messages.
When I choose "Install Guest Additions CD Image" from the VBox tool bar I get the following image:
Where might I find a solution to this problem. I will be glad to find whatever info needed in the system, but not sure where to go. I have tried a couple of possible solutions from web searches, but so far I've had no success
this resolved it. manual install

I have an app that's running on a Linux server, and it produces log files on that server. I personally use a Windows machine and wonder if there's any way to tail the log file on the remote Linux server, and stream it to a file on my Windows machine hard disk?
I know there are some 3rd party web sites/software but I'm curious if there are any native ways of doing this
Thanks so much!
What about sharing the file using samba and just tailing it via the share
Logstash not only transfers your file, but also can parse your logfields and display it on a nice UI Kibana 3. Hope this helps. Moreover these tools are cross platform and run on Linux/Mac/Windows.

I want to reset Fedora so it appears as it was reinstalled, but without the cd.
I have many issues with it so I want to start with a blank page ! :D
Is it posible to do this in fedora, without reinstalling it from cd ?
I dont want to save any files !!!
Only Possible if you have fedora running in Virtual Machine and have snapshot backup. Or you have full system backup.
It depends.
When you were using your Fedora distribution, were you using it as a regular (non-root) user? Or were you using it as the root user?
Non-root users are normally only allowed to modify files within their home directory. That means if you were using your Fedora as a non-root user, any changes you've made are confined to your home directory. You can simply delete that directory and recreate it, and the end result will be as if it's a new Fedora installation.
