I'm a new user of the data model editor in XCode 4. How do I delete a Fetch Request which I don't want? It was difficult to figure out how to add one (click and hold the "Create Entity" button!). But now that I've created one, I can't for the life of me figure out how to get rid of it.
I'd also appreciated pointers to a good tutorial on building predicates. eg something which answer how do you test if the year in a date attribute == something and similar questions.
Select the fetch request.
Hit delete or backspace.
Enjoy.
PS: Instead of 2. you can also choose Delete from the Edit menu.
Remarkably, this command has been around since 1984. ;-)
As for your other question: check out Apple's Predicate Programming Guide.
To search for a year in a date you do something like
[NSPredicate predicateWithFormat:
#"date > %# AND date < %#", janFirstYear1, janFirstYear2];

I am trying to create a list item with a multiselect field, according to the m365 spo documentation. It feels like I have tried all possible variations, but I cannot get it to work at all.
Is there any official guide as to the syntax for a multi-select value?
Ok, for whomever bangs their heads against this in the future, the format for the seeds of a multi-lookup field is the following:
Id;Value;#
Where ;# is the separator. You may use # as a wildcard for a value, ending up with the following example where I am adding the related entities with Id 3 and 5 to the seed:
3;#;#5;#
or one single entity:
1;#
or three entities:
2;#;#3;#;#5;#
There seems to be a tiny bit of tolerance on the trailing value, but I did not experiment much with this.
PS: it works, and I am very happy, but dear reader know this: if you feel the need for some eye-bleach after reading this, you are not alone!
There is a lot of questions about binding data to forms. This is very simple. I have a form that uses several computed fields that pull data using an #DbLookup to populate the fields based on a pulldown menu the user selects. The problem is; none of the computed fields save any of the values into the form that it is bound to. The only data that saves on the form is the data that is manually selected (in the case of the pulldown menu) or manually entered. When I use an edit box and don't make it "Read Only" the data saves fine. Why is this so difficult?

Couple approaches here I think... but let's walk though something.
Read Only on the edit box is preventing the save. It makes sense. XPages should not try to save something marked "read only".
As Steve says, you're better off here with a computed field. Set the values however and if their bound to the document then I think they will save fine.
Another approach is is to work with scoped variables. When you get your data points... you can put that into scoped variables like:
viewScope.put("myField", myValue)
then you're computed field could be bound to the viewScope variable "myValue".
however this will of course not save back to the document as it's not bound to the document. So what you do if you want that approach is in the document save event... you then use SSJS to assign the values to the doc then. something like:
document1.replaceItemValue("myfield", viewScope.get("myField");
Since xpages basically has the same document events as notes client. This may seem familiar to you.
Hope this helps.

Disclamer: I'm answering this from a plane after a trip to Las Vegas. So please factor that into the quality of my answer. :)
You will want to put the data you receive from the #DbLookup in an edit box field(s). A computed field is like a "Computed for display" field in traditional Notes development. You can choose whether to allow the user to change the values or not by the read-only property.
Also see this question if you want the values read-only which it sounds like you do: ReadOnly field in Xpage not submitted
As usual, Dave steered me to something that worked. Being in the larval stages of JavaScript experience, I'm sure there is a better way to do this. I'm just happy it works. Her is the code I put into the QuerySave event of my Xpage.
var cost1 = getComponent('ItemCost1').getValue();
var uom1 = getComponent('UOM1').getValue();
var Num1 = getComponent('ItemNum1').getValue();
var tot1 = getComponent('Total1').getValue();
docuent1.replaceItemValue("ItemCost_1", cost1),
document1.replaceItemValue("ItemUOM_1", uom1),
document1.replaceItemValue("ItemNum_1", Num1),
document1.replaceItemValue("CostTotal_1", tot1)
I have 30 iterations of this so it probably works kind of clunky but the operative word is WORKS. If anyone has a better way to get the same results, please post it so I can learn something. Thanks for everyone's help.
I need to filter a a table with parameters that are calculated on a non related table, but to do this in Access web I need to add the [Project_Id] to the task list.
To clarify further, the user answers some questions regarding the details of a project, which in turn will calculate in the background a group of parameters that are needed to sort a task list.
The problem is the task list is generic and not related to a project so before I can use the project related filter parameters I need to assign a project id to the task list or there is no relationship and no way of knowing what project parameters to use.
I tried to do this with a query but being a Web database I am unable to select the data from the form control.
Hopefully someone can help me find a solution, because I have exhausted Google and my own knowledge on the subject. One last thing I am unable to use code thanks to security issues.
In case anyone is interested I found away to assign the project id to the task list using data macros.
The data macro is assigned to a table that is related to the project and when updated edits the tasks list to add the current project id for each record in the table.
I still have some issues to work around, but in general it does what I need.
Quick question. I want to generate code with SPMetal that includes the UniqueId field (the field that has the GUID for the list item), but somehow in Visual Studio I end up with either:
A list without that field
A list that in theory has that field (UniqueIdUniqueId.. why is it named that way?), but when I try to run it, throws me a NullException.
I'm using Sharepoint 2010, VS 2010.
Can you point me in the right direction? I'm stalled right now. I would paste you the XML file I've been using as parameters to SPMetal, but my servers are down right now. I'll post it ASAP, but if anyone has the answer on how to generate a class that includes that particular field, I'd be thankful.
Thanks!
The solution was: use the "GUID" hidden field. Duh.
I think is no way to include 'UniqueId', because is not a part of any content type.
If this realy need to get 'UniqueId', try write SQuery, which get item by ID with one viewField (to maximize performance).
I´m searching for a way to display the userimage next to the name of a Blog-comment in sharepoint 07. First idea was to add a Image column to the comment list and use a add event to fill it, but this would not catch a change of the userimage and I still have no control over the rendering.
Thanks for any suggestion

To make a long Story short , there seems to be no simple Solution to achieve this.
The Listview for the comments can not be bend to show userimages.
Finally I had to create a own webpart to show the Post and the corresponding comments, but be warned. You have to search all comments associated with the Post and get the Userprofile for each user that left a comment.
Even I get Linq to work with MOSS07 the performance for large Blogs might suffer
