Simplest suggestion box (like google suggestion when you using search) in PHP (without jQuery) - search

I can't find simple solution for suggestion in php/java script (no jQuery or something) so would like if some have some advice?
It is simple, when people search my site I want they to see suggestions, I made everything for 'feeding' that box, but can't code or find somewhere simple php/java script only solution, so please give me some useful link or code.
Also, forgot to say that I found "XMLHttpRequest" and made implementation which works great, but since I never ever used XMLHttpRequest I am not sure will it work all platforms and browsers? I tested in few (IE,F,Chorme,Safary) and it works on windows platform, but not sure will it work on other (Mobile platform for example) that XMLHttpRequest solution?

Go to the below link to find an awesome auto complete script without using any kind of javascript frameworks like jQuery or Prototype. Probably this might be the thing you are looking for.

NetSuite 2015_2 PHP-SDK Two Factor Authentication

We currently have Two Factor Authentication working in the 2017_2 release of the NetSuite PHP Toolkit, but we have some code that has broken due to changes between 2015_2 and 2017_2. It seems that in 2017_2 it is also far easier to set up Two Factor Authentication.
Looking at the code, however I do see references to TokenPassport and TokenPassportSignature, which tells me that I should be able to get TBA working in 2015_2, which would give us time to figure out the rest of the issues.
My question is: How would I actually go about that? I have set $service->passport to the generated TokenPassport object. I know that my TokenPassport object works in 2017_2, and I assume it would be the same, but I don't know for sure, and I can't seem to find any information up on Elgoog.
ETA: I have seen examples of this working in 2015_2 in Ruby, but not in PHP. The backend is there, but I can't seem to be able to do this in PHP, and the Ruby examples were only snippets.
Okay, so I solved this for myself, but I may not have done it the "right" way. Here's what I did:
I took the makeSoapCall and setTokenGenerator methods from the new instance of NSPHPClient.php, and I added them to the OLD version. I had to modify the setTokenGenerator method to not require an instance of iTokenPassportGenerator, but I could have just as easily copied over that interface as well.
Basically, all that needs to happen is that we need to send the tokenPassport header, which the older version of the SDK can generate but doesn't have a method to actually send that I could find.

ExpressionEngine file manager - default to thumbnail view

At the moment when you go to select an image inside an entry using the EE default file manager, the default view is 'show files as a list'.
Is there a way to show the thumbnail view as the default?
At this point I would be happy with a core hack.
I don't usually use the file manager for sites (much prefer Assets) but this client had a tight budget
I've wondered about doing this in the past as well - turns out it's pretty simple. Open up ee_filebrowser.js and search for the first instance of a("#dir_choice").val(). Immediately after that add this:
; a("#view_type").val('thumb').change();
Make sure you include the leading ;.
I've only tested this in Safari but I can't see why it wouldn't work everywhere. Incidentally, JS beautifier makes this sort of thing infinitely easier.
I don't recommend hacking core for any reason and I suggest it should be avoided at all cost.
With that said, I will provide what I've found out just the same.
Looks like the following files, in EE 2.5.3, are what you'd want to edit:
/themes/javascript/compressed/jquery/plugins/ee_filebrowser.js
/system/expressionengine/libraries/File_field.php
I found these doing a file search in my text editor for view_type which was from the id of that dropdown. The javascript is minified so you'd probably want to un-minify it and then rewrite the part which handles the switch. I'm not the best JS/jQuery person out there, and un-minified js makes it a bit harder too so, I won't offer any more than what I've found so far.
Consider pulling out the parts parts from the two files if you aren't great with js and maybe start a new post tagged accordingly.
Also note: there might be more to this than just those two files so consider this answer a start and nothing more.

Google docs viewer url parameters

Is there any sort of documentation on exactly what parameters you can put in the url of Google viewer?
Originally, I thought it was just url, embedded, chrome, but I've recently come accross other funny ones like a,pagenumber, and a few others for authentication etc.
Any clues?
One I know is "chrome"
If you've got https://docs.google.com/viewer?........;chrome=true
then you see a fairly heavy UI version of that doc, however with "chrome=false" you get a compact version.
But indeed, I'd like a complete list myself!
I know this question is very old and perhaps you already solved your issue, but for anyone on the internet who might be looking for an answer...
I have been looking for this recently, following a guide I found on GitHub Gist
https://gist.github.com/tzmartin/1cf85dc3d975f94cfddc04bc0dd399be
More specifically, the option to embed a certain page of pdf using
<iframe src="https://docs.google.com/viewer?srcid=[put your file id here]&pid=explorer&efh=false&a=v&chrome=false&embedded=true" width="580px" height="480px"></iframe>
The best I could fing was this article (I suppose from a long time now)
https://weekly-geekly.github.io/articles/111647/index.html
HOWEVER, I tried modifying the attributes and the result was simply a redirect to
https://drive.google.com/file/d/[ID]/edit
https://drive.google.com/file/d/[ID]/preview or
https://drive.google.com/file/d/[ID]/view
AS OF MAY 2020, THIS SOLUTION PROBABLY DOESN'T WORK
I'm also on a quest to discover some of the parameters of the viewer.
the "chrome" parameter doesn't seem to do anything, though. Is this
supposed to be the same as embedded=true?
Parameters I know of:
url= (obviously)
embedded= (obviously)
hl= set language of UI (tooltips)
#:0.page.1 = jump to page 2 (page 1 is numbered 0) - this is unreliable and often requires a refresh after the first load,
defeating the purpose.
That said, when I use the Google Docs viewer on my site, "fit page to
screen" is the default view without any parameters. So maybe I'm
misunderstanding your question.
Source: For convenience, this is a full quote of the sole answer (it is from user k3david) to the crosspost of this question #Doc has posted to the Google support forum in 2011.
You can pass q=whatever to pass a search query to the viewer.

Form validation in addition to YUI

I'm in the process of adding some much needed client side form validation to a website I'm working on. We're currently using YUI. YUI doesn't have any form validation built in as I can see(prove me wrong).
I googled it
http://code.google.com/p/yui-form-validator/
It's not important that it's a YUI-extension as long as it plays along with YUI in a civilized manner.
What should I go for? Anyone out there with experience and an opinion?
There's a module in the gallery: http://yuilibrary.com/gallery/show/form
I haven't used it, but it looks pretty good to me.
Looks like we'll go for http://validatious.org/
Lightweight and standalone. Will not interfere with YUI.

Using YUI and Prototype Together

I want to add a calendar control to a page that already includes Prototype and Scriptaculous. Not happy with any of the Prototype ones I could find, I'm considring using the YUI Calendar widget.
I this likely to cause any problems?
We have worked hard to make sure that YUI is safe to use with any other library. We namespace everything, as HermanD says, under only one required global (YAHOO) and one optional one (YAHOO_config). We don't modify native objects. And even though Protoype does modify native prototypes, we code defensively so that this doesn't break YUI functionality.
If you find any bugs in using the two together, please let us know.
Regards,
Eric
YUI Team
By default everything in YUI is within the YAHOO namespace, so as long as you sensibly apply namespaces to anything you use from YUI, I would have thought you should be ok.
See: http://developer.yahoo.com/yui/yahoo/
I successfully used the YUI tab control in an app I was already using Prototype and Scriptaculous in and had no problem. The weight of all that is a bit much though if you're looking at a publicly available app. I wouldn't care so much about an internal app, say for a company, but you might want to think about how much JavaScript you're making end users download and the number of separate files they're having to download for the page.
