I'm writing a gallery and my goal is not just photos but all kinds of images are going to be in there.
Now comes the naming part, what do I name my model?
Photo gives the feeling that it's only for photos. Image is a well used word for any graphics but is originally used when creating an image of something, like a person or a house.
So what makes the most sense:
Image
Photo
Picture

Image is a Digital Asset
Photo and picture are more traditional with cameras and paintings.

Are there any code samples or papers on the subject? I have not been able to find any resources directly related to the question after a bit of research.
It appears it has. I found two papers here and here, and there are probably other. The second one was published at NAACL (a high-quality conference) and contains a bunch of relevant references.

I want to store number of photo album in SharePoint Picture library, I can create different folder and store picture to respected folder. Is it possible to change folder picture and make it thumbnail size so it look like album. Or is there any better solution for this
Regards,
You can change the Icon image for folders in the actual root of your website directory, but this will affect all folders on your website.
There does not appear to be a way to specify a specific icon for a folder; they all utilise the same file globally.
I honestly think you would be better off avoiding doing this. If it's possible (I can't categorically say no because I'm not omnipotent) it would be very hackish, as there is no methods built into Sharepoint, and take a lot of effort for very small aesthetic benefit.

I love the flexibility of d3.js, but in some cases its low level api is hard to use. What are some higher level charting libraries based on d3.js? I know on rickshaw so far.
Like you I have been very impressed by D3, but found it tricky.
The best D3 charting library I've seen is NVD3.js. I've been testing it out, but not yet used it in anger.
Currently I'm working on the theory that to get the best out of D3 you need a strong understanding of JavaScript, so I'm brushing up on my JavaScript Patterns, which I'm finding very helpful.

At the moment, I set these resource folders:
/res
/drawable
/drawable-large-hdpi
/layout
/layout-port
/layout-large-hdpi
large-hdpi folders are for Galaxy Tab, while others are for other tablets.
What additional resource folders do you suggest to add?
We use large-land, large-port, xlarge-land, & xlarge-port, but I would not recommend this.
I would recommend filtering drawables based on pixel density & filtering layouts based on screen size. Also, read THIS.
drawable-large
i am using this folder for all tablet
