How do I do this simple URL rewrite? - .htaccess

What URL rewrite rule should I put in .htaccess to re-write this:
http://www...com/one/john
into this:
http://www...com/one/two/index.php?profile=john

This ought to do it. Anything following /one that doesn't include a / will be passed into the profile parameter.
RewriteEngine On
RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} !-f
RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} !-d
RewriteRule ^one/([^/]+)$ /one/two/index.php?profile=$1 [L,QSA]

.htaccess rewrite rule get to slash based

I'm writing a website on custom MVC. I have URLs like this:
http://myweb.com/goods/?id=12&size2
Could you please help me out with rewrite rules to get a URL like this:
http://myweb.com/goods/id12/size2
You can use the Rule in /.htaccess :
RewriteEngine on
RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} !-f
RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} !-d
RewriteRule ^([^/]+)/([^/]+)/?$ /goods/?id=$1&size=$2 [NC,L]
This will internally redirect
/2/12
to
/goods/?id=2&size=12

Redirect url get variables after rewriting htaccess

My original url was this:
wwww.domain.com/car-details.php?merk=BMW&model=X5&titel=sale&car_id=3
I have Rewrite it into this:
wwww.domain.com/BMW/X5/sale/3
By putting this in my .htaccess:
RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} !-f
RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} !-d
RewriteRule ^(.*)/(.*)/(.*)/([0-9]+)?$ /car-details.php?merk=$1&model=$2&titel=$3&car_id=$4 [L,QSA]
When i put in Url wwww.domain.com/car-details.php?merk=BMW&model=X5&titel=sale&car_id=3 it still works. I want that url to be redirected to wwww.domain.com/BMW/X5/sale/3
I have tried to put the [R] flag in my htaccess RewriteRule but then I'm getting the opposite results.
How can I fix this?
This is a good decision to do what you want.
But you will face a loop problem.
You can avoid it by using this code
RewriteEngine on
RewriteCond %{THE_REQUEST} \s/car-details\.php\?merk=([^&]+)&model=([^&]+)&titel=([^&]+)&car_id=([0-9]+) [NC]
RewriteRule . /%1/%2/%3/%4? [R=301,L]
RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} !-f
RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} !-d
RewriteRule ^([^/]+)/([^/]+)/([^/]+)/([0-9]+)?$ /car-details.php?merk=$1&model=$2&titel=$3&car_id=$4 [L]

htaccess rewrite rule to hide actual file

This is my folder structure
htdocs
-> testing
->index.php
->.htaccess
Inside index.php I have this code
<?php
if(isset($_SERVER['PATH_INFO'])) {
echo $_SERVER['PATH_INFO'];
}
?>
Inside .htaccess I have this code
RewriteEngine on
RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} !-f
RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} !-d
RewriteRule ^(.+)$ index.php/$1 [NC,L]
Here is my question:
In the above htaccess rewrite rule, which will link my address localhost/testing/HelloWorld to localhost/testing/index.php/HelloWorld
Is it possible to do some thing like this? When the user enter localhost/testing/index.php/HelloWorld I want the browser to hide the word index.php and only display something like this localhost/testing/HelloWorld
I tried to redirect the link localhost/testing/index.php/HelloWorld to localhost/testing/HelloWorld by adding another rule in .htacces file but I get "The webpage has redirect loop" error message.
After I add in new rule the .htacces file looks like this
RewriteEngine on
RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} !-f
RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} !-d
RewriteRule ^(.+)$ index.php/$1 [NC,L]
RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} -f
RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} !-d
RewriteRule ^index.php/(.+)$ /testing/$1 [R]
Does any ways that I could make my link like this? Thanks in advanced, your help will be very much appreciated.
You get the redirect loop, because the rewritten url matches the rule for redirection. You'll need to use a trick to make the external redirect only happen on an external request with index.php, not on an internal rewrite that maps a different request to that file. You can do this with %{THE_REQUEST} which will only ever be whatever the external request was. It will not update if you rewrite the file it maps to.
RewriteEngine on
RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} !-f
RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} !-d
RewriteRule ^(.+)$ index.php/$1 [NC,L]
RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} -f
RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} !-d
RewriteCond %{THE_REQUEST} ^(GET|POST)\ /testing/index\.php/
RewriteRule ^index.php/(.+)$ /testing/$1 [R]

mod rewrite with dots

i want to change a url like : localhost/site/home.php?p=index to localhost/site/index
i use this code in my htaccess file
RewriteEngine On
RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} !-f
RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} !-d
RewriteRule ^(.*)/?$ home.php?p=$1 [L,NS]
but when i write like localhost/site/home.php?p=profile.user i get the 404 error, and go to this link
localhost/profile.user
so how can i fix itthanks
Let's look at your rewrites first:
RewriteEngine On
RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} !-f
RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} !-d
RewriteRule ^(.*)/?$ home.php?p=$1 [L,NS]
This is relative rewrite: the replacement text home.php... does not begin with a slash. Relative rewrites in a per-directory context (<Directory> or .htaccess) require a RewriteBase directive to be configured, otherwise they do the wrong thing.
Secondly, your rule is backwards, If you want to rewrite the home.php URL to the site/index one, you have to put the home.php match on the left side, and the site/index on the right:
RewriteRule ^home.php?p=(.*) /site/$1
Notice that I have an absolute rewrite. This means that mod_rewrite will create a URL out of the rewrite by sticking http://example.com on it. A new request is internally generated now for http://example.com/site/<whatever>. We can get away without using RewriteBase since we have no relative rewrites.
As for your last question, it is not clear why when you access localhost/site/home.php?p=profile.user you're being taken to localhost/profile.user. I'm suspecting that it's your home.php script doing that, perhaps. You're trying to use mod_rewrite to hijack that particular kind of PHP request and send it elsewhere, right?
What you meant is probably: you want to rewrite this way:
http://mysite.com/index => http://mysite.com/home.php?p=index
So this should work
RewriteEngine On
RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} !-f
RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} !-d
RewriteRule ^/?$ /home.php?p=$1 [QSA,L]
Now if you want the opposite:
http://mysite.com/home.php?p=index => http://mysite.com/index
This should work:
RewriteEngine On
RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} !-f
RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} !-d
RewriteRule /home\.php$ / [QSA,L]

URL rewrite using .htaccess

I need a URL like
mydomain.com/myname/?action=post&data=10
Here in a single PHP page (user.php), I need all myname, post and 10 as GET method variables. How can I get it using .htaccess?
you can add the following to .htaccess
RewriteEngine On
RewriteBase /myname/
RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} !-f
RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} !-d
RewriteRule ^(.*)$ index.php?$1 [L]
