How can u perform a search in sharepoint 2010 using content types and metadata.
For example, if i want to search for all documents having content type "ct1" and where the field "fld1" contains the word "finance"?
Is this functionality doable out-of the box?
and also, is the standard search text box found in the sharepoint mainpage used for only performing a content search?

use the steps from following article if you don't want to create a scope for a content type skip it Use a content type for a search scope

What is the difference between Single Document Interface and Multi Document Interface in MFC? When and where we are using it? In which type of application we can use them.
Thanks
Single Document Interface (SDI) is a document-oriented application, which provides exactly one document space (like Notepad).
Multi Document Interface (MDI) allows to have several (also different typed) documents to be open (so provides a "Windows" menu).
Both use the document-view pattern.

How can i add a custom page where i have a grid shows some records(content). and some other graphical representation e.g. graphs ? Please eleborate in detail. Can i have pages created in module and have linked to front website.
The common way to do it is creating a custom controller which will display the web page (rather than page as content item). There is an example here http://docs.orchardproject.net/Documentation/Building-a-hello-world-module
Of course you can modify the Page content item to add your custom content, but I think that in your case it's better to do a custom controller.
If you want something more specific, ask another question. You're asking too much in one question :)

I want to create interactive objects that appear in an excel file viewed via share point. I am told I am not able to use VBA. What alternatives can I use? Please note the viewed via share point part.
Many thanks for any help given
Mrhopko
None. Excel files displayed via SharePoint are rendered as HTML tables, so no VBA possible.
Open the files in Excel to have interactivity, otherwise Excel is not the right technology.

I'm trying to find all the pages in my site that are indexed by google so I've searched for site:mysite.com . My product page show up in loads of these results so I'm trying to exclude them from the results, something like site:mysite.com notinurl:product but I can't seem to find anything that works, any ideas?
Try using minus sign before your term:
site:mysite.com -product
This should exclude all results that contain your product - be aware, it's not just the url.

Suppose I search Twitter in Google.
Unlike ordinary website, google will present Twiiter with an additional table,
which provides links like Sign Up for Twitter, Twitter (#twitter) on Twitter.
I am wondering:
How to do this?
what is this called(beautify the search result),Is this called SEO?
It's called Sitelinks
Dear there is nothing to do for you to get such type of search result.
Google webmaster tools offer you this feature called as "sitelinks" it automatically generate this type search result when ever user type your domian name as keyword in search box.
Even more you have choice to set what URL should appear in SIX PACK result, And you will get it in Google webmaster tool section.
