I have a "CustomSetup" screen, which is pretty generic with my installation.
When popping in the CD, after a few dialog boxes, I get to the CustomSetup screen, which gives me the ability to install or not install features of my program. This is great, however, I really only need to be able to have two choices which already exist. I don't need the others, and would not like to be able to see them or be able to select them.
I googled my little heart out to no prevail.
Anyone have experience in disabling these options?
Thanks
If you're using InstallShield, you can go to the Features view, and on the feature you want to hide, locate the General | Display option, and select "Not Visible". Next, locate General | Required, and change it to "Yes".
If you want to prevent the Custom Setup screen from showing up at all, the easiest way to do this is to click on the "Project Assistant" tab of your InstallShield IDE, and then click on "Installation Interview", and select "No" next to "Do you want users to be able to selectively install only certain parts of your application?"
Hope this helps,
Bryan

I have a question about Ultimate Special Offers plugin. Has anybody used it?
The problem is that this plugin sets the table with discounts in a special place where it wants. In my case, it shows up under the "add to cart" button. But I want it to appear above the button. How can I regulate the place where the table shows up?
You have two choices. One is to dig into your theme and move the table yourself. If you right-click the element displaying the table while having your browser console open, you will spot where it is in the HTML that makes up your page. Now click the Add to cart button, and see where it is. Memorize the name of the button, and now look for that in your product.liquid page. Chances are, the plugin itself has some liquid, so you can cut it out of the page, and move it the before the add to cart button in the liquid.
If all that seems like a mountain to climb, just ask the makers of the plugin to do it for you. It is a simple task for them, and should take them a minute to do. If they choose to ignore you, I would call them out as unreliable, and try a different plugin, from a company that will help you with your simple task.
I have been working for a few days now making a simple web page to be a basic cv/bio. I started by making my headers for the page and some simple animations when switching window sizes. After playing with adding some different colors in, I noticed that an asset I added, wasn't transparent(as I had intended it to be).
That said, I have tried to delete the item from the assets Library to no avail. I've tried removing all relevant keyframes, as well as trying to delete it from the Master Rules. The program will not allow me to delete the item, except from the Library, which does not affect the item on the page whatsoever.
I may well be missing something completely obvious and shall feel a fool when this is answered. Thank you for your help in advance!
To delete a layer, click on it in the timeline so that it's highlighted and then press the Delete key on your keyboard.
If the element is an asset imported by you, for example a picture, you must select it at the library collapsible menu and click the trash. If you can't find this menu, clic on Menu > Window > Library.
On Responsive window, click Edit base document. You can now delete it.
The default behavior for right-clicking on most recent Linux distros is to select a menu item in a right-click menu upon releasing the right mouse button. While this saves some mouse presses, it is driving some of my Windows-trained (and rather vocal) coworkers completely bonkers, and a lot of searching has told me that there is no option to change this behavior in the distros they are using (mostly RHEL 6).
To make my work environment a little less volatile I would like to try to program a fix or patch for their systems to make right clicking work like they are used to (the menu does not even appear until the right mouse button is released), but I don't know what kinds of tutorials I should be looking for (shell scripts? C? etc.) in order to do this.
If I could be pointed in the right direction that would be lovely! (or if someone by chance already knows of a fix, that would work too, though a lot of Googling has told me that there does not appear to be one currently)
Follow the directions here:
https://unix.stackexchange.com/questions/20550/how-to-disable-the-forward-back-buttons-on-my-mouse
But instead of disabling the forward and back buttons, disable the right click mouse button. You can easily dump the resulting command into a shell script which calls xmodmap. Then you can make icons that disable and enable the right mouse button, for the times where they will need it.
I am looking for a way to create custom buttons for Notepad++. So far I haven't been able to find solutions regarding this.
The buttons would be doing a regular expression search and highlight the search results as well. This would make it much easier for me to analyze error logs. This would eliminate the need of copy/pasting the long regex search queries.
I'm trying to use the Customize Toolbar plugin to accomplish this, but I couldn't find a thorough documentation of it and therefore having troubles.
Any help would be appreciated.
There you go:
Download "Customize Toolbar" from the "Plugin Manager"
Go to menu "Plugins" > "Customize Toolbar" and select "Custom Buttons"
Restart Notepad++
Now it's the important part, where you need to create the button's functionality. In your case you want to simply search and fortunately this can be implemented in a Macro. If you need something more complex that can't be recorded in a Macro, consider the use of "Python Script" plugin (which is really easy even with a minimal knowledge of Python) or writing your own plugin (which I guess is more difficult, I never tried to). So, let us assume that you recorded a Macro and you named it "test".
Find and open the file %APPDATA%\Notepad++\plugins\config\CustomizeToolbar.btn
Add the following new row in the file:
Macro,test,,,
That's all. You now have a new button in your toolbar that runs your macro.
Hello I’m Tate and I have a Question. In applescript, can you create an item for the left menu (application menu) on mac that is not already there by default? if you know the answer, please tell me.
I don't know of a way to add menu items to the application menu bar, but you might check into FastScripts, which offers the ability to customize a script menu with whatever order of scripts you like and with keyboard shortcuts. It's free for any number of scripts and up to 10 keyboard shortcuts.
Also, although I've never used it, ThisService apparently allows you to use AppleScript to add items to the Services menu in the application menu. You might check it out also.
Automator can save Applescripts so that they show up in the Services menu in each Application menu. Just run Automator, create and Applescript workflow and save it as a service. You can assign a command key to it as well.
