WSE 2.0 raises wse910 error - wse2.0

I had to use a Microsoft Web Services Enhancements 2.0 service and it raised wse910 error when the time difference between the server and client was more than 5 minutes.
I read in many places that setting the timeToleranceInSeconds, ttlInSeconds and defaultTtlInSeconds values should help, but only setting the clock of the client machine solved the problem.
Any experiences?

Does this help? It also mentions setting timeToleranceInSeconds and defaultTtlInSeconds on the client as well as the server.

Problems regarding White Screen Of Death (WSOD) at my site

I have a problem regarding White Screen Of Death (WSOD) at my site.
I will try to explain what I have tried until now.
I know it is not a triviel error to debug, but maybe some of you have tried something similar.
Here is the setup: One Windows Server 2019 v1809 with one IIS: 10.0.17763.1.
Multiple websites with associated application pools.
It's a MVC solution, and we are using .net 4.7.2.
What I have tried:
Recycled application pools every night
Restarted the server every night
Issued a IISReset every night
Deleted temporary files in C:\Windows\Microsoft.NET\
Looked at the IIS logs
Looked at the application log, our own log
Looked at the Windows log
Searched the Internet for similar problems
Made sure there always were some traffic at the website
Made sure no errors were shown when pressing F12 in the browser, the site always returs code 200
The WSOD comes at varies times, and not all the sites are affected at the same time.
A manuel recycle of the website always helps.
My question is, have any of you encounted similar problems?
And how did you solve it?
If you need more information please ask, and I will try to provide it.

This kind of problem is very unusual in IIS, because there is almost no record and useful information in the log file.
You can try to use this plan to repair IIS.
Unregister all the versions of ASP.NET with command "C:\WINDOWS\Microsoft.NET\Framework\v2.0.50727\aspnet_regiis –ua". and the framework 64 also versions. 3.0 and 3.5... etc
Delete ASPNET account from "Local Users and Group – Users".
reregister ASP.NET with IIS using "C:\WINDOWS\Microsoft.NET\Framework\v2.0.50727\aspnet_regiis –i". and framework64... net 3, 3.5 etc
Give permissions to the ASPNET account using "C:\WINDOWS\Microsoft.NET\Framework\v2.0.50727\aspnet_regiis –ga machinename\ASPNET". for framework 32 and 64 and versions.
Reset IIS .

System crashes while using clearcase 8.0.1.x /9.0.1.x (checking out files) on windows 10 (1803) platform

After upgrading system to Windows 10 - os 1803 we are getting below issues while working with ClearCase 8.0.1.x/9.0.1.x
Unable to checkin/checkout.
Not able to create views.
Not able to add any file to source control.
The system hangs & crashes while performing any ClearCase operation.
There is no error message, but I have attached screenshot for reference.
Please let us know if there is any issue with the Windows 10 ver(1803), any security system enabled?
Or has ClearCase provided any fix?
We have tried 9.0.1.5 and issue still persists.
This is what we got from windows event log.
The computer has rebooted from a bugcheck.
The bugcheck was:
0x000000c2 (0x0000000000000004, 0x00000000535be990, 0x000000000004efd3, 0xfffff803e01848b1)
for most of them whoever has upgraded to windows 1803 ver :( for people who are still using ver1709 it is working perfectly fine
Then I would recommand contacting IBM support: only them can update their ClearCase 9/Windows 10 compatibility matrix and confirm if MVFS is supported on a more recent (1803) Windows 10 edition.
We also facing same problem and I have raised the case with IBM. Still not yet resolved. As IBM said there are some limitations to work ClearCase with windows 10 and windows 2016.
We tried all the options except Secure boot disable. If possible please do disable secure boot option in Windows 10 and try to checkin/checkout code from CleraCase
Note : It works for Snapshot views. That means the issue related to MVFS
I'm seconding #VonC's recommendation to open a ticket with IBM. When you do that, save a step and collect a clearbug2 and a kernel memory dump to send in as soon as the case is opened. It will save the turn-around time of us asking you for it. If the installed programs list doesn't list installed security software (DLP, Privilege management sw like Avecto, other endpoint security tools), please list those separately as well.
I would also love to know who # IBM told you there are "limitations" with Win10-1803.
There are a few issues with Windows 10 "version upgrades" breaking things, but they generally don't cause system crashes. Windows 10 upgrades are actually full OS installs that then (imperfectly) migrate application settings. Anything that uses custom network providers (ClearCase is one example) will find that the network providers will be broken or partially broken. Reinstalling is usually required. Again, that has not yet been reported as a cause of a BSOD.
If the upgrade/reinstall didn't fix view creation, please post a separate question on the view creation issue. There may be things we can do to the SMB 2 caches to allow view creation to work in cases where the view storage is not on the client host.
I noticed that the screen shot you posted is a Terminal Services disconnect screenshot. Does the issue only occur over a Terminal Services client connection or does it also happen on a local connection?

The DefaultHttpHandler.BeginProcessRequest method is not supported by IIS integrated pipeline mode

We are having issues in hosting Webforms apps in one of the windows 2012 servers and IIS8.5. The server causes "DefaultHttpHandler.BeginProcessRequest method is not supported by IIS integrated pipeline mode" exception.

However when I tested in another server it works all fine. To isolate issues I have even tried to deploy a sample webforms app and try out.
I need integrated mode pipe line as I have a requirement around it.
I have verified the servers and there is no difference in iis configurations. What could be the possible reasons for this? Any guidance to narrow down the issue will really help.
Attaching the server comparison report. The image shows the differences in two servers. in the right side server the application does not work and in the left side server it works. If you see the diff there is not a lot of changes and btw the changes are because I added them as part of trouble shooting.
We compared every possible stuff on the servers and finally decided to take up the server in which it is working. The server in which it didnot work might have some issues with they way IIS was deployed.
So in a way there was no way out for this problem for me.

issue for WCF RIA Services (Silverlight 5) web setup: when using VS2012 Web Publishing Wizard with 'Precompile during publishing' option checked-on then the issue does raise its ugly head. When the 'Precompile during publishing' option is checked off then deployed WCF RIA Services works well with Silverlight client. Please check on your system.
I have used fuslogvw etc.etc. - nothing helped. Never used Web Publishing Wizard before - xcopy was my friend, this time I wanted to automate the whole deploying process - and lost a couple of hours of precious time.
I still don't know what is the cause of the issue but I can proceed with my work. Next time when there will be more free time I will probably use this technique to localize the causes of the subject issue.
Edit for clarification: I have effectively solved the subject issue on my localhost but I have it still appearing in one program but not in another when releasing on an external web hosting environment, and I'm yet to find what causes this issue - do you know any good sources where this issue's various solutions are classified and accompanied with solution walk-throughs?

MachineKey Azure SDK 1.5/1.6

I am using a custom Api Token implementation using WCF Web API on Azure. This uses FormsAuthentication.Decrypt in order to obtain a FormsAuthenticationTicket. To make sure that the decrpyt process works across multiple instances, I have provided a MachineKey in my web.config.
However, I've noticed that the MachineKey doesn't seem to be working on Azure because it looks like Azure is using a random machinekey and overwriting the one I specificed in the web.config I'm using the latest Azure SDK 1.5 (or 1.6?)
I am well aware of this issue with Azure SDK 1.3 and I believe this was rectified in 1.4. Is there a chance that this issue has since re-appeared on Azure SDK1.5/1.6?
I was having the same problem where my FormsAuthentication tickets were not validating across sub domains after the recent Microsoft .Net 4.0 Security upgrade KB2656351.
My FormsAuth tickets are generated from my dedicated servers and read on sub domains on Windows Azure.
In order to get all sub domains to decrypt the tickets I made sure all my dedicated servers were patched with the latest .Net updates via Windows Update. Then I upgraded my Azure project to version 1.6 and selected the latest Azure OS after deploying. This seemed to do the trick.

Windows Azure already synchronizes machine keys across the same role in a deployment. As such, you should be fine to completely ignore the MachineKey setting in web.config and just let Windows Azure handle it for you (the web farm scenario is well supported). Your scenario is supported on Windows Azure out of box with no modifications (just call Decrypt).
The issue that you might be talking about was a 1.3 issue where the web.config files were being modified directly to sync the machine keys. This failed when the file was read-only (i.e. TFS source control) and caused deployment failures. That was fixed some time ago.
I think I finally found the solution. This had nothing to do with Azure or MachineKeys but had more to do with the way the app was being tested. The encrypted key that was stored on my Phone App was encrypted on a different web server (however, the machine key used was the same). I just un-installed and re-installed my app thereby forcing the server to generate a new key.
It seems that decrypting this key on a different server was causing problems. I'm a little worried if this will cause problems in the future. Shouldn't using the same Machine Keys ensure that encrypt/decrypt works across boxes?
Anyways, I apologize for the inconvenience caused.
We seem to have the same problem as well. We set machinekey set in the web.config file. Things were fine until a couple of days ago when Decrypt started returning null. The decryptionkey and validationkey are identical on all machines. Not sure what the problem is.
EDIT - Azure v1.6 does seem to respect the machinekey we set in the config file. We figured out how to solve our problem - Maybe this would help you - we were seeing that decrypt on the cookie does not work on our Windows 7 64 bit dev machines. Then we checked pending updates and there were a couple of .NET updates related to security. We ran the updates and voila things started to work again.
OK so I had the problem as described above in a 3-server NLB group.
It looks like the Windows Automatic Updates had installed KB2656352, KB2656358 and KB2657424 on two of the three servers.
I'd put money on the fact that it's because some of the servers are running with the patch and some aren't. I guess machines that have been patched don't like decoding things encoded by a non-patched machine (and/or vice-versa).
Anyway, I've installed all three patches on the remaining machine and put it back into the NLB group. It seems to all work fine.
