Recently, I updated my android studio to bumblebee version, and when I run my codes, I realized that my emulator are shown inside of my android studio instead of creating a new window for the emulator. you can see what I mean, here.
does anybody knows how to fix this? I already tried to change the settings but nothing is changed. should I reverse the update?
I had the same issue, to resolve it do the following:
In Android Studio: click on
File,
Settings,
Click on the Tools dropdown,
Emulator,
uncheck the "Launch in a tool Window" box
Settings with Launch in a tool window checkbox
After upgrading Android Studio, the dialog box is not coming properly. It's opening in full screen and it's not closing, I tried to click close buttons but it is not working. Every time I need to force quit the android studio and reopen it. Screenshot attached below.
Please let me know any solution to fix this. I am using
Macbook Pro - macOS Big Sur v-11.1
Android Studio - 4.1.2
In Android Studio 3.5.3 , the menu Tools->AVD Manager and View->Tools Windows->Logcat is not available when a newly(or existing) flutter project is opened.
I looked at https://github.com/flutter/flutter-intellij/issues/2159 , and
<module type="JAVA_MODULE" version="4">
is in the outer most iml file.
Please suggest how to find/enable it. For now I have to open an Android project to open these two menu items.
LogCat won't appear for a flutter project and does not seem to be available to enable in the current version of Android Studio. If you open an Android project in another window, THAT window will have LogCat which can be connected to the device you are trying to debug.
AVD Manager does not have a menu item in Flutter but is available from an icon in the toolbar. See picture.
It's also worth checking out DevTools, which opens up in the browser, as an additional (not LogCat) debugging resource. The button to this is found in the Run Window when you are running an app.
There two ways to find or unable it
1. Go to the View-> Tool Windows and you can choose whatever you want to put in Tool WindowBar
2. Go to the View-> And Tick or select on Tool Window Bars
After doing that you can see the logs for particular apps, And for AVD manager...
Go to the Tools-> AVD Manager
Recenty I installed Android Studio on my laptop running Ubuntu 16.04.

I tried to check the checkbox but it still display everytime I click on anywhere in Android Studio.
Help me, thanks in advance.
Try to use this for creating a desktop entry: desktop-file-install THE_DESKTOP_FILENAME_HERE.desktop
It might be the solution (if error it's because it localized the fileB, if ok it will copy to the correct localization /usr/share/applications) Restart then
After trying many times, I decided to reinstall Android Studio and the error disappeared! I don't know the reason clearly but maybe using Create Desktop Entry in Android Studio and creating a .desktop file manually (after installing Android Studio, I wanted to add Android Studio icon to launcher) caused conflicts.
goto settings in android studio
keymap-> main menu-> tools-> create desk entry
right-click on "create desktop entry"
you will get an option to turn off it.
I updated to Android Studio 1.3 and to Windows 10 before that.
Now the issue I am facing is that my local embedded terminal in android studio has some how stopped responding to any kind of user input.
I have tried:
Restarting the android studio
Restarting the PC
Searching through Google for a solution
My Terminal settings
Has anyone ever faced a similar issue?
Is it a Android Studio problem or a Windows problem?
How to solve it?
You may suggest me to use the external terminal as that too will work fine. But that's not the answer I am looking for as it ruins the whole Android Studio experience.
This is an issue with IntelliJ and Windows 10 console.
Here is a workaround from "IntelliJ Idea Terminal broken with Windows 10" thread:
https://stackoverflow.com/a/31716623/703562
Works for Android Studio too.
The workaround:
Open a command-prompt window.
Right click on the title bar.
Select Properties, then check Set legacy mode box, and confirm the dialog.
