I have a login screen with email and password fields using TextInputEditTexts within TextInputLayouts inside a ConstraintLayout.
When an error message is set to a TextInputLayout it shiftes down all controls below it.
I know that this behavior is normal but how can I prevent the shift, i.e. make the distance between the TextInputEditText and the following control fixed regardless of the error status.
A workarround is to put a space into the helperText attribute app:helperText=" "

I have a title component(touch-ui) in my project and made the title field mandatory by setting required(boolean) – true at the title property level. Now, when we save the dialog with an empty title field, validation fires up, but the triangular icon overlaps the description icon in the component. See the screenshot attached. Is there any way to resolve this?
Seeing the same behavior in We.retail title component.
It's the same in AEM 6.4. I've kind of assumed this was by design, so that more attention is drawn to the error.
If you look at the JavaScript behind the validation logic, you'll notice that the description icon receives the u-coral-screenReaderOnly CSS class as soon as a validation error appears, which results in its disappearance. It's not that the error icon overlaps the info one. The latter is explicitly hidden from sight.
This appears to be part of the Coral UI 2 client library. This isn't something you could fix on your own (an attempt to do that would be tricky and not maintainable). If you need this behaviour changed, you could try your luck contacting Day Care. It does look like a deliberate feature though.
I am spying one button from one browser based application. But I am getting the error saying more than one item found.
I am able to spy it only under the Accessibility Mode.
Although,I can see in my page that there is only one element in my page.
How to refer my element uniquely under Accessibility Mode as there is no exact path to specify.
If you are not able to see the elements, but Blue Prism is saying that there is more than one element found, then you may have unchecked these two attributes:
Visible
Screen Visible
Try setting them as "True", and please check if that will help with your problem.
Different approach would be to use one of these two:
Match Index
Ordinal
In a nutshell, they tell Application modeller about which item should be used, if there are multiple similar object visible.
I think it happens when you are having two fields having same properties like in a login page, username & password have same properties when you spy these elements using Blue Prism it shows the error.So, to get rid of that error, check the box ordinal in the application modeller popup(which opens after clicking ctrl+left click) after you've spied the element.I hope you got it.
Whenever we spy elements it is recommended to uncheck few attributes like parent url, input identifier, title etc.
"if there is an error stating that more than one matching window found" then at this point we have to uncheck "windows text" and check the ordinal attribute.
Please try below in Application module
Uncheck the checkbox with empty values
Uncheck the ParentURL.
You just need to check the Match Index and Ordinal property of the spied element. Ordinal will always gives you the unique element on the screen.
This is even mentioned in Blue Prism's Training module.
For Browser/Web-based application, Ordinal Attribute cant not be found.
To Spy the exact element, you can also use "Application Navigator" or UI Automation Navigator.
I have edit box which has validation- it is required field and it has range of values validation as well. The validation works ok, but the problem is that error message does not dissapear when I replace the values in edit box with valid ones. I tried to add full update on onchange event but this is not a option for me since this changes other fields in my xpage as well. The partial update on the field does not work. Any advice how to refresh the field so that error message dissapears?
Create a wrapper panel or div around BOTH the field and the error message control and set it's ID to the one that should be partially refreshed. I assume you use
XSP.partialRefreshGet("#{id:idOfYourField}")
in the onblur client event!? So just change the ID name here.
I am trying to check my check box in Geb.

From the Geb manual:

Calling value(value) will set the current value of all elements in the Navigator. The argument can be of any type and will be coerced to a String if necessary. The exceptions are that when setting a checkbox value the method expects a boolean (or, an existing checkbox value) and when setting a multiple select the method expects an array or Collection of values.
Try this:

If you are using non standard HTML generated by some other platform. You may have to resort to clicking the element or using javascript.
The element that produces the desired click result could be one of the surrounding elements. If the widget is javascript controlled you may have to call a function that is embedded into the page for that widget. If its a javascript widget I cannot help you unless you can point me to a page which uses the same platform.
Try:

or any of the other surrounding elements.
I managed to check the check box with $(".CheckBoxStyle").click()
Only issue is still Submit button doesn't get enable. Following is the html code for before and after checking the check box in real situation.
I tried the to click on the submit button with following code. It doesn't give any error. But still doesn't move to next page as expected.May be because of Submit button disable issue.

It was turned out above was application related issue. We have to click on the address after selecting via address validation service. Then only Submit button get enable.

In my program I want the user to be able to choose between some options so I was using wxChoice component. Unfortunately after user interaction (clicking a button) I have to show custom text (not from my predefined list). Everything works fine if I use wxCombobox control but the drawback of this approach is that each time user selects an element from a list, selected text is highlited. It is annoying. I want the component to be read-only like. How to achieve this ?

This control is used to set camera view in 3D object viewer application. Possible options are like: top, left, right, etc. It is also possible that the user moves 3D object using mouse. In that case I want my combobox to display "custom view" string. However "custom view" should not be a part of combobox list because selecting this option does nothing.
wxWidgets default implementation alwasy marks selected text. Which might be misleading for the user because he might think that he is expected to input any text.
IMHO, the custom text should be added to the wxComboBox control, the program could just ignore it when user selects that option.
Also, the wxComboBox's wxCB_READONLY style could be used to avoid the highlighting thing.
