I am a student following an IT course at University and now proceeding to the final year of the course. I will be doing my dissertation based on ERPs and BI within digital health environment. The ERP chosen for this project is Acumatica.
How to check if I am eligible to deploy Acumatica on Microsoft Azure with my current University email? If so, what services and procedures are required in order to deploy the said ERP on Azure? If I am not eligible, would it be possible to suggest alternatives in which I could utilize/deploy Acumatica ERP?
Moreover, I have accessed Microsoft Azure using the University email account and linked it to my personal account in order to access Azure; and now need to verify if with my University email privileges I could deploy Acumatica on Azure.
Also, I have researched on how to deploy it, however, they state a storage account is required which I currently do not have.
I am not sure which kind of Azure services that you but for the deployment with Azure you can get the references with this link https://help-2019r1.acumatica.com/(W(1))/Help?ScreenId=ShowWiki&pageid=6bdba7d6-1b17-4a20-82e6-c66542a4f5dd

I have an SharePoint Office 365 Developer account and initially it was created using #xyz.onmicrosoft.com account.
Now I have added #xyz.com. All the billing management happen using the admin#xyz.onmicrosoft.com and application access happen using user#xyz.com
Now I am planning to add Azure Pay-As-You-Go subscription but I am confused should I create the Azure portal account using admin#xyz.onmicrosoft.com or user#xyz.com
Is there any best practice or general recommendation available ?
this is completely up to your organization, there are no major advantages of using one or other.
Nevertheless, an "user#xyz.com" account will be friendlier than "user#xyz.onmicrosoft.com".
I have a business requirement where Azure Subscription owner will Provision User Groups like Infrastructure Admin, Billing Admin, Enterprise Users. Ifra Admin people should login to this Portal & can only see options related to Infra provisioning. Billing Admin people should have access to Azure usage Enterprise wide - And they should be able to generate bills for respective teams(which are part of the organization). Enterprise Users are those who want to procure azure storage, VMs etc. and they want estimate cost for required infra.
I am looking out for a solution/approach for this requirement. If Azure Portal is already providing this feature then please provide me reference material. If i should build new custom Web application which internally use Azure APIs then let me know about that option as well.
If there are any products which already doing this even am open for that.
Deeply appreciating your help. Thanks a lot :)
Vishal.
Let me answer by breaking your question in 2 parts:
Managing Users - This is something you can do today in Azure. Some time ago, Azure announced Role-based access control (RBAC) and that fits the bill nicely for you as far as managing users and granting them permissions to do things. So in your scenario, the owner will create users and groups in Azure Active Directory and then put these users and groups in appropriate roles. When a user or a group member tries to manage the resources (either by logging into the portal or using other tools like Azure PowerShell Cmdlets), they will only be able to do things the role they are in allows.
Managing Billing - Though Azure Portal exposes the billing functionality (and there's a billing/usage REST API), it does not have the capability you're looking for. What you would need to do is look for ITFM (IT Financial Management) Systems that has support for Azure. Off the top of my head, two tools come to my mind - Cloudyn & Cloud Cruiser. You can learn more about it here: https://azure.microsoft.com/en-in/documentation/articles/billing-usage-rate-card-overview/. You could always consume the Billing/Usage REST API to create a solution of your own. If you're writing your own solution, you may want to check out Billing Samples on GitHub.
I am trying to create an Asp.Net web application from Visual studio to host in Windows Azure. After signing in with my work email(having MSDN subscription and Windows Azure benefits activated) I am shown this message:
Sorry but we didn't find any Windows Azure subscriptions associated with your account.
You can sign in with a different account, or as an MSDN Subscriber, you can get started with Microsoft Azure using monthly credits that are included in your MSDN subscription. Just activate your MSDN benefit to get started.
I have already activated my MSDN benefit and also have one Asp.Net web application up and running on Windows Azure with the same account for last 10 days.
I don't understand why it's happening. If anyone knows about it then please let me know.
Thanks
The issue has been resolved with the help of my organisation's IT Admin. Here is the resolution.
The problem was that, while signing in, I was give two option to choose from after entering my email Id-
Work or School account (Assigned by your work or school) or
Microsoft Account (Personal Account).
I was selecting the first one i.e Work/School account. My MSDN subscription is provided by my organization but the Windows Azure account I created using that MSDN subscription is my personal one and not provided by my company. So I should have selected the second option i.e. Personal Account.
Now when I select Microsoft Account while signing, my project is successfully created for hosting in Windows Azure.
So to msdn and activate Azure under that.

Could you please help me on Azure and Office 365 Integration.
Requirement : Currently, I have a site which is developed in SharePoint Online 2013. Where we have a section for software, which are saved in a different server (FTP Sever). And we have added those FTP links in our page.
Example: which is hyper-linked with external FTP URL : ftp:///SoftwareName(it may be .zip, or .exe or any kind of setup file)
Whenever authorized person want to download the s/w, the user will be redirected to FTP.
We are facing slowness issue with our FTP server, so now we want to save those softwares in Azure Storage.
Please guide me which azure storage will be suitable for us?
How to upload software in Azure without writing a single line of code.
Can we use the Azure Storage as FTP server, where we can save/upload/delete/update the software
If user is logged in into SharePoint Online (Office 365), will Azure require the login again? while accessing/downloading the software, if we get all things(Azure and SharePoint Online) under one tenant.
The software download page which is created in SharePoint Online, is accessible by few user or groups. Can same group of user have login access to Azure to download the software? is it possible ? (Because in our existing environment, we have given FTP access to limited user, only they can download the s/w, when they access the link, it's asking for username and password).
Thanks in advance!
Kind Regards,
Virendra Kumar
Microsoft Azure offers multiple services, one of which is the Azure Storage. The Azure Store service is meant to be used by applications; not by end users directly. So there is no built-in interface for end users to login and interact with the storage environment. Because Azure Storage is a Platform as a Service (PaaS), you must write code to interact with it.
While there is a relationship between Microsoft Azure and Office365, the link is mostly for storing user credentials in the Azure Directory Services; but again, it's a service meant to be used by applications (Office365 is an application that consumes the Directory Service of Azure). You can't use these logins to access anything else in Azure.
Because there is a fundamental gap between what you are trying to achieve and what the Microsoft Azure platform offers, your questions are difficult to answer directly. There is no FTP service equivalent in Microsoft Azure at this time.
If you are ready to code your own webparts however, you might be able to implement this yourself, but it may require a significant effort. Here is a link to a blog post that talks about building custom webparts for Office365. If instead of reading from a list, as the blog post suggests, you read from an Azure Storage account, you would list your applications this way.
We are spinning up a development against Microsoft Azure and will be making use of Visual Studio Online in conjunction with Microsoft Azure capabilities (PaaS, and IaaS). The majority of our developers will have MSDN subscriptions.
To get started I have set up the Azure Portal with what is being called a "Microsoft Account" (definition based on the FAQ below). I did this in order to establish a POC and demonstration but now I am wondering if this account needs to be an "Organizational Account." My company does use Office365/Outlook so I think it is possible to establish "Organizational Accounts" but I have not been able to determine with our Operations resources what would be necessary.
The question then is should I be using strictly Organizational Accounts for all Azure and Visual Studio Online accounts? If an account has already been set up as a Microsoft account can it be transitioned to an Organizational account? Are there any implications to be aware of?
One of the problems I am currently experiencing is that I cannot be logged into Outlook and Azure at the same time (assume Chrome for this example) unless I use Incognito mode for one of the sites. I am using the same email account for both but for Outlook it is being treated as an organizational account but for Azure it is a Microsoft account.

I would suggest using Org Accounts only once you have your domain synced to WAAD. This is what we have concluded is the best way to move forward and now are waiting on the Infrastructure gods to approve syncing our AD with WAAD. ...be prepared for resistance in this area.
The link to the FAQ says to contact MS to transition MS to Org account.
We have found this to be a very messy area with little direction from Microsoft to be found. We are not yet adopting VSO until we can use Org\WAAD accounts. They say new VSO accounts now support Org\WAAD accounts but if you have already created a VSO account you currently cannot switch over to Org\WAAD.
